Had arancini which were tepid so took them back to be reheated, one was still lukewarm, would have been better freshly made -

Tiene un conocimiento increíble de los quesos y es un tipo tan amable también. El queso que tienes en tu tostada (en realidad un brioche) se puede elegir en el mostrador. No dudaría en recomendar esto a todo el mundo. Si en York y abajo Swinegate con un amor por el queso, por favor llame no le decepcionará.

I had the pleasure of eating Meg’s food at a catered event and fell beyond in love with the amazing dishes she makes! Although Akl is slightly out of the way for me, I will walk there if I need to to have her amazing Hummus again (best I’ve ever had), or any of the other delicious salads and sweets. Thank you so much for an amazing culinary experience!

¡Pequeña joya de un establecimiento! Desayuno increíble y café encantador! Estaba muy ocupado, y un menú muy variado. El personal era amable! Muy recomendable.

Nos topamos con este pequeño restaurante fabuloso en el camino a la estación de tren. Hay una escotilla abierta si tienes prisa por un café. Entramos como tuvimos tiempo. El propietario era amable y acogedor. El desayuno de los rancheros de huevos era súper sabroso y el café era genial también.

Absolutely spot on, £5.50 for a breakfast with a mug of tea or coffee and you can double up for £1... Best value breakfast around and all quality ingredients.

I can't compliment this place enough, it's SO damn good every time we go and always very accommodating. We visited with family this time (including young children), Kawa made a lovely, fresh and healthy lunch for my 5 year which wasn't on the menu. I really value this kind of service, I like my kids to eat fresh, quality food and that's exactly what she got. I had the asparagus and eggs on toast with a walnut crumb...WOW, just wow, everything was just perfect from how it was cooked, the flavours and the presentation. My husband had the shakshuka which was so flavourful and delicious. There's a handful of exceptional cafes in York that served up outstanding food...this is certainly one of them. Thank you team Kawa, you are amazing

Sometimes Indian food from a takeaway can taste a bit 'samey' regardless of what curry you order. Here, it was very refreshing! The chef specials are definitely creative - chops hand was standout and the Keema pop fun! Quick service too.

We stayed in an air b&b round the corner and stumbled across this lovely little coffee shop. The pumpkin spice lattes we had were beautiful and the lady was so lovely we had to visit twice!

A great place, good food and fab coffee. The coffee shop has now closed and a car sales garage has opened, if in need of a new car do call in, great service, good pricing.

A really good and surprisingly cheap indian restaurant. I deliberately had their specialities - which were excellent and the bill was about 40% less than I expected. Wonderful . Friendly and efficient

I found myself having missed lunch with a long time to go till evening meal....and noticed this little gem on the other side of the road. 45 minutes later I was walking out the beneficiary of a superb coronation chicken sandwich (plus salad and coleslaw) and rejuvenating pot of tea. The price was a steal as well. Forget the chains and multiples, one-off businesses like this, passionate about what they do, win every time.
