The best restaurants in Fylingdales Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

We have eaten here previously and have always enjoyed it. As we were back in the area we booked again and we were looking forward to it. It was so disappointing. The staff are lovely, but the food was average; one starter poor and it's expensive, especially if you don't get what it promises on the menu. I ordered the avocado panna cotta with Whitby crab, scorched watermelon, champagne sorbet and caviar. When it arrived it was a cocktail glass full of avocado puree which tasted like a brand guacamole, no crab, no caviar and no watermelon. I mentioned it to our waitress saying it wasn't panna cotta and bits were missing, she looked embarrassed, apologised and walked off. I didn't eat much of it a tub sized portion on it's own of guacamole is not pleasant. It was £14. The mains were ok, beef with risotto and halibut (again no caviar as promised), sides needed ordering separately as the halibut was just served in a sauce with no potatoes or vegetables. No deductions on the bill were made for even part of the starter. The wine list is good and as mentioned the staff are really friendly and the location is stunning. Another thing to mention, on Sunday we visited the Loxley bar area, the toilets were dirty; on Weds when we visited the restaurant they were worse.

OK, this is a poor rating, but let's get this out of the way first, they were really good fish and chips, a nice meaty fish, crisp batter, good chips, mushy peas were, well, mushy peas and the curry source very nice, spicier than average.... Why the poor rating you ask? Well, we visited on a Friday evening, around 6:30pm at the end of half term week, there were a few people waiting for orders ahead of us, but it certainly wasn't busy. Our order was taken promptly through the hatch when we arrived and we were told they would give us a shout when ready... The wait, 42 minutes!!!!! I'm not sad enough to time it, but once I started getting bored with the wait, I could see the transaction time on my phone, gradually counting up to 42 minutes ago!! That's for 2 fish and chips, 2 sausage and chips and some peas and source. Honestly, you'd think they would be expecting customers at that time, but there was one guy by himself, taking orders and cooking/serving. Unfortunately, he was completely loosing track of order too, and we saw our fish and chips (not knowing they were ours), sat on the side waiting for several minutes before he finally shouted us. They were such good fish and chips we'd probably go again, but I'd certainly ask the wait time before ordering!!

Food was ok, it was very very clean and the staff where very helpful and friendly. Definitely would come back. Great views of the sea.

They sell so many things such as snacks, lunches, pasties and home supplies. They have wide ranges of ice creams and other cakes and sweet treats. The staff are lovely.

Simply superb. The best fish and chips we have eaten in years. The batter was perfect and the homemade sauces were amazing. This place is a must if visiting Robin Hood’s Bay

Great pub lunch with my family and two dogs. Really nice food. Huge portion of gammon egg and chips. My son brought home the leftovers for tea. Managed to leave my hat behind and the lovely landlady ran after us into the car park to return it. Such a lovely thing to do. What amazing service. Well done.

Impressed with the service and food. Had chocolate brownie and carrot cake..delicious and would definately recommend visiting for a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Hay un café encantador al lado. Uno que no tiene un propietario pasivo agresivo que disfruta escuchando el fútbol tanto como indirectamente reprendiendo a sus clientes por tener un perro mojado en su piso de piedra (no nosotros, la pareja amistosa en la mesa de al lado que no podría haber sido más amable). Si te gusta un café donde el propietario suspira y pone los ojos en blanco cuando le preguntas cuáles son los pasteles, condesciende a su personal joven y hace que el ambiente sea muy tenso, entonces este es el lugar para ti. Siento mucho haber entrado a su sala de estar, continúe con su fútbol, por favor, déjeme darle mi dinero por las molestias. Gracias al joven que nos ha servido, tenéis la paciencia de un santo.
