We visited as a family in the summer holidays so expected it to be busy. Unfortunately nowhere to sit inside or out. We wanted food but had to give up on this idea. I thought the prices were above average. We started off sitting in a shallow ledge crammed between some boats but then moved to the steps and a wall to the side of the pub. We watched as more and more people bought drinks but had nowhere to sit. People sitting on pavements and kerbs and stood with drinks in the street. One couple were sat on the kerb outside the big white house at the bottom of the hill with their drinks. A dog cooked its leg up on the kerb higher up and the pee ran down the hill and all over the woman's pants underher bottom. There are some boats stored where the tables are out front. Just seemed really cramped. Didn't feel easy sitting there. I suppose its lovely on a winters evening when its quieter.

Our first visit to Robin Hoods bay so of course had to stop at this beautiful spot for some lunch. The views were fantastic, you couldn’t pick a better spot to have lunch. We sat out on the balcony and both ordered the southern chicken burger with Aleoli. We weren’t expecting much as a burger is a burger but wow. Absolutely delicious. A meal you didn’t want to end. Cooked perfectly and thoroughly enjoyed. We will back, thank you !

Amazing location, just a shame the staff were miserable. If you don't wanna work in service then leave, plenty others would love this job. The lad with the blue shirt had a seriously bad attitude behind the bar. Spoilt the venue.

Went in for lunch with my wife, ordered soup of the day, sea food salad, and ham an eggs, so far so good. 40 minutes later nothing had arrived despite all around us being served who arrived after us mmmm. Asked at the bar was told they had a new chef routine, we accepted this even though we new we were being fed a line. Ten minutes later my wife’s main arrives with my starter with no spoon. Obviously not right but we accepted it again. A minute later my main arrived??? Which I sent back as I can’t eat two meals at once, and I asked for a spoon. I finished my starter which was fine patiently awaiting my main. In which time my wife had finished her main!. As I got up to get a refund on the main that never came I was asked don’t you want it now !! Not one sorry or apology at any point. Food tasted fine if you can get it,staff absolutely pig ignorant.

Stopped here for lunch and managed to get a table overlooking the sea inside. Service throughout was really friendly and helpful. They have a good selection of food and we chose to have sandwiches and sides of chips. Gluten free bread was available which was really tasty on my crab sandwiches. Gluten free pudding too was available (I had a sticky toffee type pudding) and was able to choose a sorbet instead of ice-cream as I am dairy intolerant too. BTW the lemon sorbet is fabulous. Prices for both food and drinks is very reasonable which surprised us with it being in such a prime spot for tourists. Would definitely recommend eating here.

The Bay has had a spruce up since our last visit and looks much better for it. Food was so good, we ate here 5 times in a week. The location of this place is amazing. We stayed in Room 2 which did not have an en-suite bathroom but had your own bathroom across the landing (not a problem for us). We used the Bay as a base for travelling all the surrounding areas and it met our expectations. The rooms were basic but very clean and freshly decorated so fit for purpose. Now it’s time to address the elephant in the room…. The breakfast offering is poor, in fact so poor on the 3rd morning we didn’t even have it. It was that poor quality it put us off eating there on any evening of our stay. I know that pre cooking the breakfast items saves time when serving up but guys you only have 3 rooms and I am sure customers would appreciate their bacon freshly cooked rather than being very hard. With a good brekky would have happily given 5 stars.

Great location but very disappointing interior. Needs a make over to celebrate it's location and history. Very dated plain interior and tired seating - mainly bench seating. Radio playing local station in background. Dogs are allowed to lie on seats and hang around tables while people are eating. I don't think this is right as I certainly don't want my clothes covered in dog hair or have a dog panting by my food. Food was OK but very large portions - lots of food left on people's plates.

Visited with a group of friends to have a nice dinner while on holidays. Ended disappointed after a mediocre meal Ordered some cask ale which was off, pint was replaced but still not good. The food arrived which was mostly ok except for two bowls of clearly not acceptable mussels. One for starter, one for main. Both had a third of mussels which couldn’t be eaten. A food safety issue and very poor because of its glorious location by the sea.

On the plus side the views are amazing, the staff are polite and the drinks are ok. On the negative the food was not great, burnt chips, greasy food, the bar was non too clean with flies all over and tables weren’t wiped between diners. Glasses not allowed outside as ‘we don’t have enough to let you take them outside you have to have plastic’. Visited on a Monday night and the 3 members of staff were all sat having a drink together rather than clearing tables and cleaning up. When the bar man collected our plates, most of the food being uneaten, we weren’t asked if it was ok.

I don’tknow if this place is any good. After 15 minutes waiting at the bar, only 1 person got served - by the 2 staff. The 1 ‘serving’ then left 6 of us waiting and went outside to wipe down tables. Rude, surly, we up and left.

I came here during each visit from Canada and we were just getting ready to return again. I am just shocked to find out that they have closed permanently and I can only live with my memories. I wanted to bring my wife there for what I hoped would be another incredible weekend. I can only hope the very best for the family and say thanks for all of the memories and the fantastic bar towels that I still have after 20 years Thank you. Muchas gracias. Hvala, arrigoto, Merci,

We had a nice English breakfast for the start of our walk. Not the best ever perhaps, but enjoyable and open at 7:30. Prices are reasonable, but cash only

We had the unfortunate "luck" of spending a night at this place. Got a "suite" under the creaky flooring of the pub with noise-channelling ventilation ducts overhead, a substandard kitchen with no cupboards and wobbly table, a toilet with no ventilation, exposed pipes and disjointed faucet and a door with no handle in sight... All this came with a delayed check-in and service that leaves much to hope for. While the rooms above the pub may make for a better night's sleep, there is little hope that could improve this establishment's culture of hospitality.

What’s really interesting about this cafe is that it’s part of the now closed second funicular tram at the top. Loved the Yorkshire owner of the cafe ☕️. Great bacon rolls before we checked into The Grand next door 🚪 (which we liked ❤️ too)
