Impressed with the service and food. Had chocolate brownie and carrot cake..delicious and would definately recommend visiting for a cuppa and a slice of cake.

A wonderful little gem, hidden away. The chapel was beautiful - so tastefully decorated and a magical place for us to share our friends' marriage. The cafe was amazing. Lovely selection of food and drink, and great ambience. Just magic! Thanks so much.

We were pointed here by some locals on the Main Street as the other cafes had some noisy building work going on. Very lucky as we might never have discovered this place otherwise. We stopped in for breakfast - sausage sandwiches all round, which we all loved. Nice bread and loaded with good quality sausages. Coffee was great too. Our dog was welcome and were greeted by two very friendly spaniels. We sat on the terrace overlooking the beach - tricky steps to get there with the pram but the staff kindly offered to help us. We came back again during our stay to try the lunch offerings - the toasties were amazing and so was the cake.

Delicious breakfast options and very dog friendly with treats available. Only down side is they don’t do a full English, even though you could order all the options of a full English on toast, which was a bit strange. Can’t fault the quality of the food and the door stop bread was excellent!

Stopped for morning coffee, which was great quality with a premium price to match. Some very tempting cakes and scones on offer. Besides the generous indoor seating, a USP of this cafe is the choice of outdoor seating terraces - one on the east side of the building overlooking the bay and sea, the other on the west side overlooking the beck, so morning or afternoon, you should be able to get a seat in the sun!

The staff were briliant, I understand that it's under new management, so things take time to settle in, but they were helpful, friendly and efficient. They were able to sort out some delicious food for us that was vegan. Sat out on the terrace with amazing views, really added to the whole experience of what was just a day's visit. Also, the coffee was excellent.

Called in having not read the recent reviews. Agree the staff did seem disorganised and inexperienced but they were certainly polite and friendly towards us. Our order was checked over fully with us before we paid and we were impressed with the overall quality of the food/value for money. All in all we had a pleasant experience but they were quiet when we visited, we did comment to each other that they would probably struggle in high season. I suspect (but have no idea) that they are new owners and will probably appreciate some support whilst they become fully proficient at what they do.

Visited today (Wednesday) only 2 staff around but only 1 seemed to be working, ( a woman with blond hair and glasses) she was taking orders and serving and a younger woman appeared not really interested in the customers!!!! There was then a ‘performance’ from the manager who came in and started shouting at the older member of staff. Although entertaining it was completely inappropriate. Apart from the lovely views there is nothing to bring you back to this cafe I’m sorry to say.

No disrespect to the older generation intended. Terrible service, slow, disorganised, orders were wrong, being sent to the wrong tables. We waited 45 mins for coffee and cake and our bill was incorrect, included other tables orders. Nice location, good quality food but totally spoilt by the staff. I would avoid unless they have had a staff change.

Visited while at RHB for the day. The cafe wasn’t particularly busy but the staff were clearly very stressed and completely disorganised. Told to sit at table for order to be taken - after 20 mins we placed order at the counter. When the food eventually arrived the order was incorrect. Staff were bringing food out of the kitchen with no idea what table to take it to and just taking it back to the kitchen without asking customers if it was for them. Such a shame as the cafe itself was beautifully done out and in a perfect spot. Laughed about it afterwards but did feel like a sketch from Acorn Antiques and Mrs Overall!!

Long wait for food, lost order staff very disorganized, couldn't cope because it was busy. Given its half term you would think they'd be ready for it? Soup & home made bread!! Bread looked & tasted like a slice of warburton wholemeal, not sure if was worth the price or the v long wait. Waiter smashed a glass very near our table showering our dogs & their food with glass. No apology for the wait, wont be going back.

Wandering the narrow lanes we came across this gem. A gift shop inside a lovely cafe. Lots of space inside and a small, sunny terrace outside. The menu was small but yummy. I had the most amazing bacon sandwich on thick white fresh bread - delicious!! Owners were very chatty and friendly. Great find

By all means enjoy the outside character of the building and admire the sea view, just leave it there and don't step foot inside! You will be shocked by its prices, the small portions and the staff! Chef looked unkempt and seemed very nasty. Staff appeared inexperienced. The Owner was like Hitler to his staff whom he appeared to run ragged. The worst Sunday experience I've ever had!!!

Great location. Seaview balcony. Busy cafe but staff appear unable to cope with volume of customer orders. Says table service but people queueing around counter. Good coffee but slow to arrive and expensive. Cakes are £3.95 a slice! Grumpy irritated owner sniping at other staff. We cleared our table to help but were told off...we won't be going back. We laughed about it afterwards. It was like a Victoria Wood sketch!

Just don't understand the poor reviews. We visited twice this week, and sat outside with our dog. On both occasions, staff were friendly, food (Eccles cakes, cheese scone and butterscotch cake) was all delicious, water was brought for the (ungrateful) dog and we couldn't have felt more welcome. Cushions and rugs were available for use on the terrace. Thank you to the lovely staff

So nice.we went twice! Lovely coffee, friendly service, tasty bacon and fresh tomatoes on toast all wrapped up with a superb view. We were lucky to be ale to sit outside in the sunshine in November and appreciate our surroundings. Next time we are going back when it's dark to watch the stars with a beer or 2

Unbelievably bad and rude staff..give it a wide berth trust me! Went with some friends and was told only one side per person and when I made light of it was informed there were other places to eat....so we agreed and left!

Popped in today. In the end didn’t experience the food but did experience ‘the service’. After being barked at by a surly young man on the counter that it was table service and they’d get to us when they were ready, we did as told and sat down. Not a good start. When it came to ordering asked for chicken & pesto panni but gluten free (as described on the menu) to be told ‘no they are premade so you can’t have that (although the menu reassures you everything is freshly made to order) The limited GF alternatives all included cheese or you could have ham. No thanks - so we left. Fair enough they couldn’t cater for me but there’s a way to explain that. Maybe just a bad, busy day for them as there was quite a bit of table clearing to do & it felt slightly chaotic.

My husband and myself have been to this establishment a couple of times and both times it's been shut for weddings. I find this very bad for its customers. Also when it's open the staff are very miserable and not a bit friendly. The food may be good but I do like service with a smile. Its a very expensive cafe also.

Found by chance as we explored Robins hood bay narrow cobbled streets. We sat on its terrace with coffee and cake looking at the Seaview. Inside was further seating and a gift shop. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

We visited a few days ago and the staff were great really helpful, they don’t take your order from your table you have to order from the counter which is fine as the staff were really welcoming. The food is awesome, reasonably priced. There is a shop and the old church on top is stunning and can be hired. What a beautiful little gem in beautiful Robin hoods bay well worth a visit.

We got married here last Friday and had the most perfect day, everything was just as I’d hoped and more. Sarah and her team delivered an incredible day that we’ll never forget. The chapel is stunning and Sarah has done a beautiful job restoring it. We chose the full day option from the ceremony right through till the evening. We chose the fish and chips, that are from the local fish and chip shop and knickerbocker glory and the staff had it organised like a military operation. Thank you to all of you, it was a very special day.

We got married at Secret Seaview on the 30th August and it was absolutely magical! It is a stunning venue and Sarah and her team were amazing. We simply can’t thank you all enough for looking after us so well. It was more than I could ever have dreamt of. There can’t be many places in the UK where you can get married with such an incredible costal backdrop. The chapel itself has been beautifully renovated – I actually cried when we went to look round as it just is the most wonderful and unique place! We opted for the ‘small and beautiful’ package, which meant we had a lovely drinks reception on the terrace overlooking the sea following the ceremony and then THE best afternoon tea –the scones were epic and the gin cocktails were awesome! The staff were fantastic; friendly and professional and really did everything they could to make sure the day went without a hitch. I honestly cannot recommended it highly enough, I’m so glad we chose you for the biggest day of our lives – WE LOVE SECRET SEAVIEW!

We visited this cafe yesterday full of hope in such a lovely spot, my husband and I sat outside on the terrace overlooking the sea. But sadly as soon as the young waitress cleared the table our impressions were not good. We sat and waited very patiently for someone to take our order after being told quite abruptly that our order would be taken from our table. Still we sat and waited, asked again if someone would take our order and still nobody came to our table. My husband asked the waitress again if we could order and after another wait we eventually ordered our 2 Lattes and toasted tea cakes a very simple request. We must have waited 40 minutes so poor, we felt some staff were rude, terrace certainly needed a good sweep and as we sat there we said the bunting on the fence said it all, a bit shabby! So come on even at busy times you are in a prime spot, we certainly wouldn’t visit or recommend this cafe and wish we had been brave enough to pay what your service was worth. Such a shame!

My family and I visited this cafe both days during our stay in the bay. The view outside is spectacular!! The first day we just had coffees which were very good indeed. The staff were very friendly. This morning all 6 of us wanted to return for our breakfast before we set off home. A table was free outside on the terrace so once again we enjoyed the scenery. We all had breakfast sandwiches which were delicious and again the coffee was excellent. The staff were different today but again very friendly and we had good service. We were very lucky this morning as the weather was beautiful so it was a perfect ending to our enjoyable stay. If you are not so lucky with the weather the cafe has great space inside. I would highly recommend.

I have never seen such blatant racism in my life. This is 2024. People of colour and like minded people walking into this Jim Crow, antiquated backwards establish please be aware. To put a note not to offend is outrageous. We should be all tolerate of each others differences. Obviously a person who's not well versed and travelled. How can society move on when we have people who think that it's reasonable to offend people who are just enjoying their vacation. White privileges allows one to laugh, turn a blind eye or to offer a rationale for their inherent racism. Being White I can only apologise and say that the majority of educated White people just want to live in peace and unity. Should be ashamed. Schools visits! How do teachers explain gollywogs in todays society as being acceptable.

Had been away for the weekend, having been to wether spoons for breakfast yesterday and being bitterly disappointed we thought we'd try abbey view as we had been yesterday for lunch and enjoyed our potato and leek soup. The breakfast was amazing everything was fabulous including the service. Thanks.
