Yeah it was a nice place the staff where nice I don't know about the food but the coffee was really nice

Unfriendly staff, the lad was picking his nose while surving our mocka, the toilets were disgraceful

Not much left to eat when we called in for late lunch & coffee. My daughter had the chicken & bacon toasty which was disgusting it had just been warmed up not toasted the underneath slice of bread was all wet & slimy, my husbands bacon bun was not as expected, I asked for my flat white to be extra hot but instead I got an extra shot. The staff were not friendly or organised. Sorry but nothing like our usual Costa we go to all the time.

We were in Whitby for my sister's special birthday. We met them on the Sunday and went for a coffee in Costa Coffee. Lovely service from the staff, relaxed atmosphere, plus we had a perfect 'leaf' motif on our coffee. The young lady who served us said it was her first 'full' motif she had managed on our coffee! Brilliant :)

A coffee like any other and better than some.

My elderly relative who is a wheelchair user was using the disabled toilet and when he went to sit back down n his wheelchair he missed it and fell in the toilet floor! As I couldn’t lift him up by myself A wonderful kind young man who was working in the kitchen named Tadas came the rescue and helped me get my relative back in his wheelchair. Thank you so much Tadas you’re a star 🌟 #notallheroswearcapes 💙

Got there really early and the service was excellent. Happy to serve and happy to he at work. Got my coffee as usual everyday and it was lovely. I have to say I miss it being buy 8 get 1 free. You now need to buy 10 which is a bit of a let down but still really good service and really good coffee. Will continue to go everyday and even take the kids down on a weekend :]

For the first time ever in a costa I was going to be charged 2.45 for an extra tea bag, staff were polite but come on costa really, scrouge only appears at Christmas....

Love a Costa! Ours can be very busy and the poor staff are sometimes run ragged, tables sometimes need a clean and they always seem short staffed but they do their best. And the coffee is great. Lovely staff too.

Always call for coffee when visiting Whitby

Not sure if they have changed the coffee beans but didn't seem to be as good.

I do love a costa but they really are pushing it with their prices now. 2 hot chocolates and 2 bacon baps cost like £19. I'm not sure about this anymore. Really getting hard to warrant the price It's always nice but it just costalot

I always come here and it never disappoints. I would recommend coming here at a quiet time as it does get busy. I always get a cappuccino or a latte they are always on point. Staff are always friendly and helpful would definitely recommend

I just want to comment on a member of staff named Geo. I have drunk cappuccinos in Costa Coffee shop all over the country these past 15 years or so. Rarely can a barrista make a proper 'dry' cappuccino. Usually I get what is closer to a latte. Geo is an exception as she got it bang on during the 3 mornings I visited this week. This lady knows how to make coffee

Utterly slow staff, expensive food and generally a poor slow experience.

Sooooo, slow. Lack luster performance in every area. Won't be coming back.

The staff are always polite and helpful, but the drinks are cold and sweet, not what you want when you go for a hot drink.

Tables were filthy no coffee cups had to have paper ones .every table was full.of dirty pots miserable staff usual quiet nice to have a coffee

I ordered a large Soya latte with vanilla syrup, what came was a veritable bucket of deliciousness in a cup with two handles, because you need that many to hold it. 4* for service as one of the loos was out of order and there was no signage to tell you how to get out of the loo.

Just been to Costa in whitby and the staff there were amazing! Service was outstanding, I was served by the handsome man called Sean (it said on my receipt) I had a large caramel latte and one of the ham and cheese toasties and both were very nice. I will definitely be returning here again. The other 2 members of staff behind the counter were very nice too, Erin and Geo. Thank you for a great experience

Not the typical high Costa standard unfortunately. Lots of unclean tables with used cups on. Quite a let down.

Visited Monday 17th July 2023. Rather slow service and not busy. Drinks were ok. Only 1 toilet working which wasnt good

I ordered a salted caramel frappe and a mocha and they forgot the salted caramel frappe completely eventhough I was one of the first people in the queue and then made the mocha and just made a black coffee instead and then passed it off as a mocha they forgot the chocolate in the mocha when we then asked where the salted caramel frappe was they said they just forgot it and then used the excuse we've run out of ice sorry. Would 100% not recommend and the girl that mare the drinks was rude and disrespectful and didn't care at all we got a full refund for the salted caramel frappe and then got the mocha for free because they forgot the salted caramel frappe.

Oh dear what a terrible experience, had a coffee which was very nice.Then before I left I needed the toilet.The first toilet had a sign saying out of order,the second one was also locked ,the 2 staff were busy serving,so I pushed on the door which had out of order on,to my surprise it flew open ,and the toilet was stacked to the roof even on the toilet itself, with boxes of coffee, and disposable cups and other stuff,the next thing both the staff said sorry it's out of order,and gave me a code for the other toilet, I told them it was disgusting and breaking hygiene rules,they said tuff it's allowed by head office, which I've emailed, and not heard anything, I'll be contacting the council tomorrow, avoid if you need a toilet, what else is going on at this branch,

Found this costa by chance on a visit to Whitby. Lovely and clean , was quite busy but we were served quickly. Coffee was lovely , there was only one toilet working but it was very clean.

Really unappetising cafe. Tables are uncleaned. Croissants like flabby rubber. No working toilets. Go somewhere else.

Went because the children had been keen on a bubble tea since the advert showed up out the front. There was only one person serving and a really, really long queue. The bubble tea cost £3.50 and had a teaspoon of bubbles in, and the flavour was so gross one of my children couldn't even finish it. I wouldn't go again, WhitbyWok sells bubble tea for the same price but with half a cup of bubbles and much tastier juice!

I'm really sorry for giving one star, but I have to. Ordered a single espresso and saw them pouring a double one but just letting one half go in the sink. That's just 50% of wasted resources and is not acceptable. Don't know if that's an official Costa Instruction... if so, shame on Costa.

Filthy inside you que to buy a drink struggle to find a empty table free from previous customers cups etc and if you do they haven't been wiped. Also no working toilets there should be a sign to state this before you order a drink!

Went on a busy bank holiday staff were excellent under trying circumstances

Came for a visit to Whitby and the Mrs always have a Costa Coffee and on enter the windows to the front where a disgrace and did not look cleaned as you can see runs where a window cleaner might of cleaned but runs down on the entrance door and the counter was not much clean and the mirror on back wall was filthy and lights above have cobwebs of them and bulbs look filthy the table spaced out well but not clean from spills and crumbs. Staff where friendly. Maybe the staff and window cleaner good for about a fresher course in properly cleaning in detail representing the company. If the place is dirty so is the company and they may just want profits instead of customers health and hygiene standards.

Went in for a drink which was fine but went to use the toilet and no toilet working I thought if can seat more than 30 people they had to have a working toilet must be wrong I don’t now

Lovely spot for a coffee or another drink. Easily accessible via wheelchair or pram. Disabled toilets/baby changing available for paying customers. Open spaces to maneuver around easily.

Costa is costa can't go wrong ..but service so slow and so dirty visited over 2 days no tables cleared you had to urself ..the bathroom 1 broke other absolutely filthy

Costa, as always, was excellent. I know I will always get excellent service and a fantastic hot choc( with soya milk).

Costa coffee Whitby was a disappointment. Both toilets were out of order which to me is an issue in any cafe/restaurant, that needs sorting g as a matter of urgency. Coffee was only warm not hot

Really good service which is a trend within costa the guy behind the till Sean I think his name was. He was rushed off his feet with a manager no where to be scene but he was quick and helped every customer he was excellent at his job and deserves the praise too!

Visited this Costa several times (at different times) during a week in Whitby. Coffee good as usual 3* as on each visit the toilets were 'closed for cleaning' every time I went in. The disabled toilet was open with an almost contant queue of at 2 or 3 people.

A rather charmless Costa. Uncleared tables, slow service and no toast or teacakes, leading to one dissatified mother.

Walking around Whitby all day so popped in for an iced coffee & a cake. No cold coffees available at all. Ordered a flat white & a muffin. Served in take away cup & cake in a bag, which I didn’t mind. The guy serving on till & making coffees was friendly but seemed to be working alone. Tables hadn’t been cleared. This store is often take away only & they’re rarely well stocked. Come on costa!! Sort it out.

Just had a coffee, but I really like Costa coffee as I drink it black and some coffees can be bitter but not Costa which has a lovely smooth blend.

Decent service and everything spotlessly clean, was not busy, only issue was toilets out of order.

Went to Costa in Whitby with a grand-child with a severe peanut allergy. The staff couldn't be more helpful with advice on drinks and voluntarily washing the cups twice to avoid cross-contamination (we didn't ask for this they volunteered!). It was clearly of importance to the staff that our grand-daughter was protected. Well done!

No working toilets and they refused to shut the store and never offered an alternative

3 staff on and very slow service, not a wide selection of cakes, freindly staff.

Appalling service, 10 minutes to make one cappuccino and that didn’t include the waiting time to be served ! 3 girls serving and all too busy chatting, we are locals and we will go elsewhere.

Called in for hot drinks on a cold day, service so slow , waited 10mins before I sat down. Another 5 mins before the drinks were ready, obviously the girl was learning. Then much older woman stepped in to help as the queue had grown by this time. Not good at all.

Male server was incredibly rude and even started arguing with me for no reason.

Sat outside with the dog, great area to sit with shelter. Coffee and service were excellent.

Visited the cafe on the 13th Nov. Ordered drinks to sit inside, when I received the drinks they were in takeaway cups. I asked why but just told only takeaway today. I asked why but given no reason. There were the usual stacks of cups on the code machine. We went to sit down and many tables had not been cleared and the bins were overflowing with takeaway cups. The cafe was not busy and the staff just stood and looked on.

Have to say the staff here are really lovely and helpful. Were great with an elderly gentleman in front of me. Love the gingerbread lattes and the muffins.

The staff were lovely but they were closing early due to staff shortages.

Love the coffee but just found the service a bit slow, as many were queueing to collect their coffee's as were waiting to order, by the time we got ours didn't take long for me to drink my large cappuccino.👍x

Three members of staff in, yet it took 10 minutes to get an order in! All tables dirty and using take out cups due to "broken dishwasher" as one of the three lasses were bringing in steaming clean cups to a random hidden table... Really?? Half the syrups missing (including the new one we were wanting to try) yet no notice of this until ordering!

Not a particularly pleasant experience. Dirty tables which get cleared but never wiped over or cleaned. The lessons of the pandemic are soon forgotten

Amazing service from the lady with long black hair(simone) ,just ashame the young girl with purple coloured hair didn't have the same attitude. The store was extremely hot and staff delt with angry customers well. The Manager should be proud of his staff.

Shocking service in this shop on 21/08/2022 !! Foreign speaking girl so ignorant I’m suprised this shop still open ! Tables were a disgrace apparently no staff ! No cups because none clean , she even moaned when we asked for plates to put food on ! Absolute disgrace of a store just feel sorry for the regulars in Whitby !

Love this place staff are great food is lovely and the coffee is definitely needed so yes get your self over to costa and enjoy because I do. Also try the flappes as the fudge brownie and the strawberry and cream is gorgeous.
