1st time visit 1st Deffo won't be my last. Felt. Very accepted from the outset will deffo be back .

Not surprised when I again called in at the Tap to receive excellent service in a busy bar. Great atmosphere.

Best pub in Scarborough for good ale

I didn't have any food so I've not included a star rating for that. I don't live in Scarborough but I've been to the Tap & Spile a few times mostly for the live music on weekend evenings and occasionally for a few of their excellent choices of ale which have never disappointed. A really nice place with lovely bar staff and a vibrant atmosphere, I feel very relaxed and enjoy the experience. There is a beer patio area at the rear where smoking is permitted. Many thanks and I shall look forward to visiting again as frequently as "life" permits me to.

Great place for Sunday lunch... If you have a normal appetite order the small lunch....mahoosive portions. Great food and service.

Lovely pub,very clean,landlord works hard and keeps beer in good condition,we enjoyed the White Rat.👍👌

Great place for beers, music and friends

I ordered a take away Carvery today for the first time. I am a qualified professional chef (retired) and always thought take away Carvery would one day be on the menu ( no pun intended ) it was something different to offer the customer but lot's of negativity surrounded it so I never got a chance to try it. Now a few restaurants offer this service so I gave it a try. I really enjoyed my Carvery it was hot and a substantial amount for one. Would certainly recommend 👌

Staff unbelievably kind and so professional when dealing with less than nice customers! Such a friendly and welcoming environment and you always feel like a huge family being there! Could not recommend this more!

If you are not one of them, forget it. Bar staff nice apart from one of them who likes to control things and seems to dislike older gentlemen in general. Banter seen as offensive unless you are in with the incrowd.

Had the most delicious Sunday dinner😋. The portion of the regular meal was copious, plenty of veg and meat, definitely recommend the food couldn’t fault it, scrumptious! And good value for money 10/10!

One of the best bars Scarborough has to offer, nice little beer garden , great ale and live music , what's not to love.

Went here for my partners birthday lunch and we were not disappointed! I’ve never been in here despite being local but it was warm and cosy and a lovely atmosphere. The food was beautifully cooked, with 3 meats and all the trimmings! Very reasonably priced & would definitely consider coming back again!

visited as stopping close.....went on 1st day and then never bothered in venturing any further into scarborough!! cracking pal....friendly staff and locals and a proper pint of old p

Great local pub, we’ve been many times but never for food, so decided to book in for Sunday lunch today, we weren’t disappointed, friendly staff, good service and excellent food! Will definitely be back!

First visit just for drinks, great atmosphere, fabulously preserved old Inn, friendly staff, pleasant garden, noticed folk comfortable dining alone there. We'll be back.

Went for Sunday dinner on my own last week just because I was starving. Nice sunny beer garden to eat in, bar very clean and tidy and very pleasant staff. Had the mixed meat Sunday dinner which was very impressive. Young lady who served me could not have been more obliging. Will certainly go again.

Sunday roast was delicious and plentiful and the welcome was very friendly. Good choice of drinks. What more could you ask for ?

We are residents of lady ediths caravan park, the tap and spile deliver your massive breakfasts or Sunday lunches to site at a specific time so your food arrives hot . You would certainly need a good appetite to eat a full meal here.

Superb pub, if you like live music great beer and a very friendly atmosphere. Probably the best pub in Scarborough. All the staff are very friendly, the place is spotlessly clean and it serves a great Sunday lunch, book in advance though it's very popular. A must visit if you are in Scarborough

Called here on the off chance just 10 mins before the kitchen closed. We ordered small Sunday lunch which was quite large. The beef was lovely. Lots of veg, unfortunately all Al dente which I know others like but I prefer my veg more cooked. There was also roast potatoes Yorkshire pudding and a nice touch was a gravy boat. Both the meal and gravy were piping hot which was great. Great beers obv from a well kept cellar. The pub and toilets were very clean. Nice cosy pub friendly staff.

When asked the size of the dinner, we weren't sure and got the large, even had a choice of veg, when it came to the table, both of us struggled to finish, Hindsight, just glad we didn't order the extra large meal...

Just had a roast sharing box delivered and it was amazing. Definitely well worth the money. Good portions of meats ( turkey; gammon and beef ), roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and veg. Will definitely use again

Me my wife and daughter ordered a Sunday roast sharing box while we are in special care baby unit in Scarborough hospital, what can I say other than absolutely awesome for the money and sheer amount of food we got in which we will be taking some home to eat later on tonight highly recommend to anyone

Me and my mum realy did not want to cook today...so I orderd a dinner for one for ten pound including delivery...omg we got absolutly loads and it was absolutely beautiful...all home made the veg was sooo fresh...im.so funny about meat and if I have chicken its got to be pure white...it was absolutly beautiful highly recommend it even comes on a really big plate honestly anyone wanting dinner deliverd iv tried so many places this is the best better than baxters even!!!!!!

What can I say but oh my god the Sunday lunch we had was bloody amazing and huge one of these fed 3 of us with left overs . We ordered 3 as didn’t have any idea on the portion size to feed three adults .. We would highly recommend was red hot and really tasty the meat just melted. Only downside was No mash but that’s not a criticism as was tonnes without it . Thoroughly enjoyed by all definitely order again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Absolutely awful. Took a walk out specifically for this real ale pub and was greeted with the worst attitude I've ever experienced in a pub. Will not visit again, Absolutely disgusting.

Very well organised despite restrictions!! Felt very safe and it wasn't crammed full!! Tables at the required distance from each other!! It was fab!!😍👏😍

Booked two tables for pre-dinner drinks only and were delighted with our experience. Covid rules adhered to so we all felt safe. Staff were warm and welcoming and an added bonus was live music. Many thanks to all concerned for a great experience.
