Lovely pub and dog friendly too which was a bonus for us, nice food but had to change what I wanted as they didn't have it

Use the the Scarborough Flyer a lot helpful and friendly staff. Food is great. Can watch football too. They have different events all the time. AND it's dog friendly too.

Love this place! The atmosphere has improved so much over the last year. It is fast becoming the place to be on weekend nights with the lighting and sound quality resonating down the street. It brings a really good party vibe. I think the ideas they have for entertainment are brilliant with reptile shows, disney events, character visits, easter bunny brunch and halloween parties. I especially loved Andy John as Freddie Mercury, would definitely book if he comes again. The drink range is fab, food is delicious and the MXR app is great for points and little treats. The lady who runs the Family Games Nights and does the games for the themed Bottomless Brunches is exceptionally good at her job, she's hilarious!

Really bad cocktails all pre made and had even run out of most of those. Staff nice, didnt try the food.

Called in for a drink after those STEPS pretty quick service nice pints reasonable prices pleasant atmosphere , only negative toilets down stairs

Ate here 3 times last year was good this year not good only ate there once .food came before they brought cutlery standards have dropped

Yesterday I visited for lunch with my family and I'm appalled. We ordered 2 cheese and bean toasties for me and my sister, 2 lattes for my grandparents and a cheesecake for them to share. (Which they tried to charge her for 2 of but a refund was given) The menu stated the toasties came with chips and at the till the server asked if we wanted normal chips or waffle chips, failing to mention the waffle chips would cost extra. And who's not going to choose waffle chips over normal chips! So he conned my poor grandma into spending more money. The lattes came cold and were hardly lattes, genuinely thought it was just hot milk... My grandparents asked if they could have the cheesecake now with their lattes whilst we ate our toasties (which were incredibly bland and the cheese tasted artificial it was such a disappointment) and the server said alright. Not even kidding, half an hour later, toasties gone, lattes drunk still no sign of the cheesecake. And they weren't even busy at all, hardly anyone in (it was 2pm on a Thursday) so I cannot understand why it took so long. It got up to the point where I went to the till to ask for a refund for the cheesecake because was ready to leave. Fortunately for them, in the time it took for these slow slow servers to serve this old lady in front of me the cheesecake arrived right as the old lady was finished being served. We got it boxed up and left. (It was also a tiny cheesecake slice, not worth £4.) So to conclude, Poor serving Lousy workers Unsanitary (sticky tables, food not being cleaned for ages despite them not being busy) Bland food and drink And to top it off They conned my poor grandma into spending extra money.

The main reason I picked this place for my family booking was that it’s dog-friendly. Unfortunately, prioritising the pooches prevented me from enjoying a decent meal. Their free drink incentive is not without hitches; I had to attempt it twice. I ordered the Ultimate Chicken Tikka Masala, which made Wetherspoons look like a Michelin-star restaurant. The two naan were sorry-looking, pale scraps of bread and there wasn’t even any mango chutney for me to dip them in (how can they run out of such a staple ingredient). They did have the garlic and herb dip, but such a sauce doesn’t belong anywhere near a curry. Booking here was a mistake.

Start with the service the young gent who served us was polite and helpful overall very friendly but the food was not online with prices the burger I had was thin and cheap which is unfortunate however the chips were cooked well and tasted great my partner had the mixed grill the steak was perfect but the gammon it was supposed to come with was just a piece of cooking bacon we decided against desert.

Norwegian Very loud music, otherwise OK.

1st choice meal, steak and ale pie they ran out of. 2nd, fish platter they had run out of that too! (Ran out of fish by the sea, the irony) Also ran out of beer my husband wanted. I had the chicken Tikka masala, the mango chutney was garlic mayo and herbs as they'd run out of mango chutney but failed to tell me and the naan BREAD was inedible. I would have broken a tooth trying to eat it. Should be bread guys the clue is in the name not rock.

Nice big pub, showing sky sports on many TV screens. Food was reasonably priced and was well presented.

We arrived in this pub no staff on the bar..10 minutes later still waiting to be served, the member of staff twice saw we were waiting never made us aware that he was doing food and wouldn't be long.No communication, acknowledgement nothing he came out with food to someone's table passed us never said a word.Not a good way to treat customers..Appalling service..

Very nice , Feels like a converted nightclub to a bistro pub with music , TV and moving flashing lights like you get in a nightclub. Only gripe...No signs on windows and indoors to state flashing lights (epilepsy) Would be a good move 👍

Was the only decent place to go on a Saturday night in Scarborough. Was a steady stream of people throughout the night. Service was terrible though, waited about 20 mins to buy a pint.. But the music was fun and retro

Dreadful place got threatened by the apparent owner as I was talking to a couple ladies I guess he wanted to try to get to know them . I would not mind if I was rude or did something wrong but to get asked to leave for talking in a pub seems a bit extreme to me and completely disgusting he should not be in the hospitality industry. Avoid this place if you are a single guy or lady

Booked a table at 4pm today for the England vs Denmark Euros game. New the Flyer would be busy as we were there for Englands first game on Sunday. We were not disappointed, its was super full. Ordered food at the bar 20 minutes before the game started, although busy only had to wait 10 minutes to get served. Team behind the bar all working hard and fast. Not to sure what the Manager was doing, taking pictures on his mobile of the busy floor for Facebook or instagram I assume. He should have been serving behind the bar. Leading from the front I think. That’s what his predecessor would have done. Moving on, food arrived in 30 minutes, burgers and sides for all of our party, like the food on the first England game night it was great, hot, tasty 5* from us. One of my friends went to order drinks from the bar 5 minutes before the half time bell. Tried to get served for nearly 15 minutes, no chance, called it a day and came and sat down empty handed, So another one in our group ordered on the app for delivery to out booth, yes we have done this before. The drinks arrived 30 minutes later.never mind. We will be booking for the next England game on Tuesday night. All we hope is that the team behind the bar is the maximum it can be, from 1 hour before kick off until the full time whistle, Also please do us all a favour and not play loud music during half time. Most people are there to watch the game and to listen to the analysis for 10 minutes at half time, loud music before the start and after full time please , I promise it would make a difference to your customers.

Drinks - Excellent Atmosphere - Excellent Food - Absolute shocking. Had a mixed grill. The gammon was literally a piece of what looked like bacon you put on your breakfast plate. The chicken was horribly dry. The chips were literally just batter. No potatoe! Would I return ? 100% yes for drinks. Food not a chance.

It's a sports bar, so there are large screens everywhere showing Sky and other sports channels. The standard fairly loud sports atmosphere, as people talking compete with the screens. The food was OK. A burger with a handful of chips was not enough to fill a hungry dad, but other portions were larger, and the child meal was well received. The staff were pleasant. It did us well for a quick break, drink, and bite to eat.

Burger meal was very tasty. The pub was very clean. Staff were very friendly.

Alway loved this pub but until recently they allow dogs in now as I don’t mind dogs I’d like to add they should have a designated area as not everyone wants to sits with smelling wet dogs when eating… we had to leave as the wet dog smell was so bad, shaking dogs with hairs going everywhere when eating isn’t good.. put them all at the far end of the pub not all of us want dog hairs in out food and smelling wet dog while sat eating.. staff are absolutely brilliant and lovely place.

Poor chap on the bar on his own was rather harassed, so a bit of a queue forming. Tables a bit "sticky" and not sure the burger was worth the effort.

So impressed I felt compelled to write this review being 30 and having lived in Scarborough all my life and been out countless times. I was out in my wheelchair and visited The Scarborough Flyer. It’s had a new manager for quite a while now but because I’m getting ancient i don’t go out much. Anyway, upon entering, a few moments later the manager approached me to brief me on the accessibility features of the building and advise me of where I could obtain a radar key if I needed it. I was also impressed to see the ramp laid out on the corner of the stairs to the dance floor. Hosting done properly. More businesses take note.

Great pub but always seem to have to wait a while to be served. Everytime I've been in on a Saturday afternoon only 2 behind bar.

So on holiday in Scarborough so me and my better half called into the Scarborough flyer about 3pm for a drink and a meal and also because dogs were allowed as we have a miniature dachshund named Leo. It was very clean inside and had a range of different beers which is good for tourists but was very customer wise and very clean . I ordered an all day breakfast which was awful , the most freshly cooked food on the plate was the fried eggs . The food was only warm , the sausages and bacon were very hard to cut and must have been in the warm tray for quite some time as for the toast it was also there for a long time or was cooked from frozen it broke up like Jacobs crackers. Maybe I was just unlucky I don't know , my partners had a 3 plate starter type meal which was OK. My little dog Leo even turned his nose up at the sausage and bacon which he normally likes a little bit of. For me weatherspoons meals are a step from the Scarborough flyer and better priced but like all tourist towns Scarborough everywhere is pricey.

Very disappointed, feel for all the staff. £6 for 3 chicken gougons, ten a chicken sub was so rubbery. Definitely not blaming the staff who were very nice and efficient, not a place I will return or recommend unfortunately 😐

Didn't have a great experience when we came in last year but wanted to give them another try as before last year it was fine. Didn't have our first choices so picked alternatives,starters came in bout 10 mins,was fine, plates were cleared following and we were asked if we were ready for our mains.........25 mins we were waiting for the mains which for me was far too long, when they came it was a massive disappointment, the fish was dry,the curry sauce needed bout 10 seconds of stirring to mix it and the sirloin .....well eating the table would have been easier, my wife couldn't even cut it,it was tougher than old boots and inedible, we complained and asked to change it to a burger, we were told we couldn't do that so we had a refund. Staff tried to be helpful tbf but the issues lies with the kitchen staff. It's a shame to say that I don't think we will be returning.

Dog friendly . Food out quick fab service . My curry was a little pittyful 5 little pieces of chicken swimming in masses of sauce not great with chips . Burger was ok though x

Not a very smooth experience everything seemed to be a problem, drinks were forgotten about, desert was forgotten about. A stressful experience.

Came to scarborough fryer to watch wildfire they were amazing. I also have to say the manager was so lovely I really can't thank him enough for making my night more comfortable and enjoyable. Will deffo visit again x

Good value drinks and food, attended a family event with my daughter and her friends, was amazing. Staff are great.

Went in for a quick bite and a coffee. Fillings in the ‘subs’ couldn’t be faulted. Fish finger, and a southern fried chicken. Although the bun was inedible, couldn’t chew it for the life of me. And the coffee, it was a poor attempt. I was told the couldn’t do a flat white, even though they had a coffee machine and the capability to make a latte. When we got them, they were just awful. Too strong, dirty cup & almost like drinking dirty water. But the staff were very apologetic and refunded us for it. Floor could do with being cleaned more often too. I understand with it being one of the more popular pubs/clubs in the town, drinks are split, but then to allow dogs in through the day. My feet were sticking to a dog-fur filled carpet. Despite this, there’s a chance I will return again.

A group of of us were celebrating a birthday last Saturday 23/3/24. We were served food and drinks by Hannah. The food was very nice and arrived without a long wait. Hannah was very polite and helpful who made sure everything was fine. Give her a pay rise Scarborough Flyer.

Attended the Family Rave with my friends and our kids 8 of us in total. What a fantastic night can't believe no one has thought of doing this before. We went in and it looked great there was lights on and a smoke machine even a face painter that had no charge! It was honestly a a fantastic night me and my friends have been looking for something to take our kids too like this for ages that doesn't cost the earth and it went above our expectations PLEASSSE make sure you do more of these family raves! Thank you for a great night

We attended the Family Easter Rave what an absolutely amazing event! Nothing like this for Scarborough families and the staff did an amazing job. We really hope scarborough flyer do more of these events. Hats off to the perso who came up with this idea. this was a really great night from start to finish my girls loved it.

Went here in a Sunday evening as it was dog friendly. Food was absolutely fine, staff loved the dog and were really welcoming. My partner did comment that the male toilets had mess all up the walls? Some kind of drink ….. I would return definitely as the dog was really welcomed, food good and drinks were reasonably priced with good variety.

Great pub for food and free pool on Sunday. Gutted we missed the live band tonight for St Patrick's day. All the staff were great with our 3 year old and brought over crayons and an activity sheet without asking. High chairs available. Only complaint is no option for black pudding on a breakfast. Glad they are not operating surge/events pricing

Staff really informative and chatty and loads of screens with sports on. We got a burger and chips each which were really tasty and got a drink with them great deal! Great atmosphere. My family come here quite a lot to and enjoy visiting.

So dissapointed I brought my partner here as we have other business in Scarborough. It's beyond freezing. Approximately 15c having mentioned it to the staff we were told that the heating was on and its because people keep opening the door . I have just felt the freezing cold radiators and realised I have been lied to. The food was of low quality and overcooked . It's a real shame as this building is lovely. The location is central But this place is dying because of the way it's managed. Obviously, we won't come back And will tell others to avoid .

Had such a lovely time coming here, the place was big and had such a lovely atmosphere, Kaz on the bar was such a great help and so friendly and the manager Ste made us feel so welcomed! Would definitely recommend 🥰

Amazing for sport! Screens everywhere so you can not miss the match. Food arrived piping hot and staff were incredibly friendly. They allow dogs and supply water and treats. Great atmosphere. Varna was really helpful and made us and are dog feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend.

Visited Scarborough Flyer again after we enjoyed our last visit before Christmas. Staff very helpful especially Varna Tash and and i think Kaz so chatty and friendly and good knowledge of the area and food really good as usual and drinks aswel. We love this place and now that they are Dog Friendly that's a bonus 😀

Nothing exciting about the place. Its a bit dull and no atmosphere. The food was basic, tasted okay but basically a wrap dumped on a plate with a small handful of frozen chips. The staff were the best thing about the experience. Doubt I'll visit again.

On a very Cold, Wet day the pub was cold and when people came in and exited it was draughty as the door took its time to close. I can understand the external doors being open in the summer but not on a very Cold day.

I have noticed a review from a man called Joe Pemberton. I was actually in Scarborough Flyer that particular night and I witnessed this saga and I was so shocked by the behaviour of the doormen and I felt so strongly about how unfairly this family had been treated I sent two messages to the Active Security Firm to raise my concerns of what I’d observed however, surprise, surprise they have totally ignored me! The family were well dressed and looked like a nice family. They had a young girl with them who was maybe 18yrs to 19yrs old and she was terrified when the doorman was trying to grab her drink out of her hand. I struggled not to go across to them but I knew I couldn’t trust myself with how the doormen were treating this family (anyway my wife stopped me) I have still not received any replies from the security company which really speaks volumes to me that they think their security staff are ok behaving in this manner.

Second visit here 2023 this time we had the mixed grill waa good but compared to a couple of years ago at another stonegate pub the meal size had shrinked quite significantly but I guess that is down to rising cost in produce but was still very good value

Drove up today from Hull with my family and popped in this pub for some lunch. The pub was very clean and staff were all friendly and happy to help. I had the mixed grill and my partner had a mac & cheese burger, both meals were beaut and reasonably priced. The burger comes with a pint if you upgrade! Great pub for all ages, especially for the footie. We will be returning! Especially for a night out.. free entry! Bargain

Scarborough flyer has always been one of our family’s favourite bars in Scarborough. Staff are always ‘top class’ and very helpful and obliging. However, we will never return to the pub due to their door staff who are complete and utter bullies! I witnessed a lovely looking family who I feel was targeted due to one of the females having a black child with her and her family. The door staff were aggressive, and trying to snatch a drink out of a young females hands in the group and telling them to leave. We were astounded by this behaviour because they had just arrived, and we were sat next to them and was unable to see any reason for the door staffs behaviour. Apparently, it was due to the young boy wearing trackies ( I must say the young boy was dressed very smartly) and the doorman said it was not allowed, however, there were no signs stating you could not wear track suit bottoms after a certain time this was 8pm in the evening. We personally believe they were being racist towards what appeared to be a very nice family. The family stated they were going to take the matter further and I offered my number to them if they needed a witness regarding the hostility showed by the bouncers!

Went for drinks with members of my family on the 26/1/24. As we were chatting and starting to unwind we noticed a commotion at the entrance between the doorman and a female customer. I was shocked to hear the female customer calling the doorman racist. The whole pub turned to see what was going on. When things calmed down I asked another customer who was closer to what was going on what happened and what he told us was quite upsetting. Apparently the doorman refused to let a young mixed race boy and his mother in because he was wearing joggers. This upset our group and a few other people because 3 members of my family and a few other customers were wearing joggers! One customer was in his shorts and a hiviz jacket. When we finished our drinks we decided as a group to never go back to this pub. I know people have the right to think what they want but if you're working in a public environment you should be professional and keep those sort personal thoughts and feelings at the door!

We visited this pub last night x great pub and lovely staff. However we will never visit this place again due to the door staff x both of them showed no respect to anyone demanding a chap take his hat off with such attitude!!! Security surly are taught to diffuse situations ??? Not cause situations, it’s about how you address people give them respect and you will get respect back!! Obviously if you have badly behaved customers it may b a slightly different situation. I witnessed them refusing a young black teenager in with his mother the reasoning was because he had jog bottoms on ??? This was approx 8pm and children/teens are suppose to b welcome till 9pm. When I looked around I saw quite a few customers with joggers on and shorts etc and this young lad was very smartly dressed even though he had jog bottoms on. I overheard a lady asking them why they refused her nephew and sister entry, there excuse was that he had jog bottoms on. However this lady said that there was various people in the pub with joggers on so why was he been targeted ??? She then accused the bouncers of being racist!!! I then witnessed the bouncers after this confrontation going over the lady and her family and tried dragging the drink off one of the ladies hands😱 everyone was extremely confused at the security’s behaviour was totally unacceptable x all I can say is this pub need to relook at there security firm as I think they will lose business letting these thugs continue treating there well behaved customers x

Went today for birthday lunch with family. Meal was ok. usual ding ding as expected,but fine ,hot enough,and tasty.The only problem as far as we were concerned the fact that the dog at the next table/cubicle was lifted onto the seats! in fact it was lifted onto the seats 3 separate times,in 3 separate places (between yapping its head off!) into different positions So in fact the whole seating area was contaminated by a dogs backside! To think that a child would then shift along where the dog had been, and proceed to eat is disgusting! let alone if you had decent clothes on.
