We started visiting Groovy Moo around 6 or 7 years ago and would call in for an ice cream literally every week and sometimes two or three times during the summer. They prided themselves on their huge "Yorkshire portions". The quality of the ice cream is second to none and we love it. However just after Covid they increased their prices, understandably, but also reduced the portion sizes significantly from 5 flavours to 3 with a large tub. They tried to say you get the same portion however this is nonsense as we have photos to show how they used to be, We didn't go for quite some time but recently started visiting again. Yesterday we called in and I asked for my usual large tub and the young girl serving gave me around a half to two thirds of the week before. I questioned this, giving the opportunity to top it up but she didn't. There needs to be more continuity of portion sizes. I just left feeling annoyed and the £5:50 paid was definitely not worth it. I think it will be a long time before we go in again. I love ice cream and the long drive for us would be rewarded with a good value ice cream portion, sadly this is no longer the case!

Another fantastic meal at Forty Six . The restaurant have recently launched a new menu, so we thought we’d pop in try it . Arrived 5 minutes early , our table was ready for us , we were seated and a drinks order was taken while we looked at the menu , we opted for Garlic & Rosemary Focaccia bread to start , followed by Hoisin Glazed Pork Ribs with Sticky Rice , Slow Braised Lamb Arepas , Manchego & Spinach Croquette , Crispy Mushroom Polenta & some fries , the restaurant serves small plates and this was ample for the two of us . Every dish was very well presented and absolutely delicious, and although we were full to the brim , we couldn’t miss out on the amazing desserts, Lemon Meringue tart and Churros were our choices and they didn’t disappoint. The restaurant was full within the hour and the service was excellent. Another lovely meal at Forty Six, big credit to the chefs and the front of house staff . We’ll be back soon.

Visited twice whilst in the area on holiday from Cardiff. Staff are amazing and happily explained the menu. They are so enthusiastic it was a great experience. I would thoroughly recommend this unique and special place if you are in the area. We have not stopped telling people about this gem of a place and the locker idea ❤️

We had Doms Kitchen for our wedding food and oh my, the food was incredible. Dom and Emma make everything from start to finish so easy. With my wife’s family from Ireland and mine from Whitby, Dom was incredible in creating a menu which captured both our families backgrounds. Every guest at the venue told us how incredible the food was. Would highly recommend and it was the best decision we ever made.

Top notch every time, never had a bad meal yet. Always polite and fast. Hot and sour dishes are excellent stuff too

A canine cuddle cafe is the sort of place one would expect to find in the trendier parts of London which is why it was such a surprise to come across this little gem in Malton. That said, Malton has been awarded the title 'dog friendliest town in the UK.' We just love this cafe where several different breeds of happy dogs (which all belong to the cafe owner) are available for endless cuddles. The cuddles are accompanied by a variety of teas, coffees and home baking. Thalia, the owner, informed us that the venue and a selection of doggies can be hired for children's parties. Apparently an alcohol licence can be obtained for grown up parties. A visit to Malton would not be complete without a visit to Mixmups. We highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

The Brass Castle Tap House is typical of the genre and is reasonably roomy and nicely done out. Obviously, real ales are the principal raison d’etre here and from the ones on offer we chose the best bitter which was in excellent condition and very good. The atmosphere was also very nice and we enjoyed our visit.

Had the Sunday Lunch for two people. The portion of beef was insultingly small but had great flavour; the vegetables were tasteless (including the cauliflower cheese), the roast potatoes had no crunch to them and were atrocious. The roast chicken was way overcooked it was sticking in the throat. The gravy was watery. Yorkshire pudding was tasteless. Absolutely rubbish food, and the owner was very argumentative when we challenged him on the quality and flavour. We don't want the upset and will not be returning. Thank you.

**Worst customer service i have ever received.** I firstly visited to get a voucher on behalf of my grandparents. My grandpa had spoke to them on the phone who said we would have to specially come in for a voucher: as they are not local me and my sister went in. We were told on the day we couldn’t get a voucher that day and would have to come back as there was a private event on later in the evening- we were spoken to in a rude way and simply rushed out the resteraunt. I can understand if they were busy, however at this point there were simply two customers in the premesis. This issue was dealt with over messages in a professional way and my sister managed to pick up the voucher. We thought everything was sorted. However, 2 weeks from this when a booking was tried to be made, I was informed that my mum was told’l Ah yes! Sorry I've been waiting to finalise things with the landlord of the cross keys before announcing publicly what's happening. But yes you definitely will be able to use your existing gift voucher in the new venue. As for time frame, I am waiting to hear back from the architect and builder about the quoted price I'm hoping to hear back on Tuesday next week. From there it should be a couple of months to get turned around!’ She then asked if there was a sistering resteraunt and that this response seemed awfully vague. To this she was told ‘ Not at the moment, I am looking at doing something in another pub in the meanwhile between the cross keys and the new project though!’. The website is now no longer accessible either. To sum this up- uovo no longer exists for the time being and they aren’t sure when the new premises will even be ready to have the dining back up and running. I am just disappointed that the company allowed us to purchase a voucher of £120, most likely knowing the future of the business; it would have just been easier if they had told us this so we could have spent that money with a business where a meal would have been able to be booked. Luckily we have been refunded but the way this was done was even more shocking. The response both me and my sister received was so unprofessional and cold. I am still in shock about the messages we received: my sister was certainly not rude and i know for a fact these messages were sent as they had been caught out for taking people’s money wrongly. I am just grateful we have been refunded. I honestly wouldn’t have felt the need to share this publicly until we received the messages we did today. So incredibly shocked and disappointed.
