Leoni's in Ryedale

A quaint quiet cafe in the heart of Malton, loved the cafe so much we returned on the second day of our break. Staff welcomed us in, were polite and professional, we liked how they were patient with the older folk, and always asked if everyone was OK. Food is very well presented and tasted amazing, plenty of the meals too, cakes, tea and coffee all freshly made. Highly recommend the seafood platter and soup, panninis and scoundrel cakes. Decor is rustic but professionally thought out. We've tried Betty's before but we preferred Leoni Cafe. Highly recommended.

Stopped by today for 2 takeaway drinks and wow the quality of them we had a mocha and a hot chocolate with caramel it was certainly up there with one of the best . Will definitely pop by again.

Run by a team of young men and women. Very good food at reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful without being stuffy or officious. Visit here when you are in Malton, you will not be disappointed.

Always my first stop in Yorkshire. Best espresso this side of Milano.....sorry Caffe Nerro !!! Delicious cakes , great atmosphere. I stay in Burythorpe and will go to Malton every morning for the next 7 days, just for coffee

A good place for lunch with a selection of sandwiches, paninis and salads. The cafe is on 2 levels and felt relaxed and cosy. Our son couldn't finish the enormous bacon sandwich which was a first. The table next to us was having scones which looked great- might have to go back

Perfect coffee, a true coffee shop in every sense of the word. Owner is passionate and knowledgeable about his product and it shows in the coffee. Great decor and very friendly service. I didn’t have time to try the food but the descriptions sounded Devine. Signed by A Coffee Freak. 😊

Spur of the moment catch up .we both ordered the country pate.It was served with lovely bread and a gorgeous fruit chutney ,certainly recommend. We both had cold drinks ,the gingerella very refreshing. Service very efficient and friendly

We go here for a lovely lunch. Even the simplest dishes are presented in a really appealing way. The food is really fresh and the quality is excellent. The presentation is also great. You get what you pay for but you will absolutely get value for money and more. It is high level lunch in a really nice atmosphere.

Very friendly welcome, pleasant and polite staff, Dominic the owner welcomes ever customer as they come in, usually by name which tells you they have a lot of regular customers. Food and coffee is great we call in every time we are in Malton

We have been regulars at Leoni’s for quite some time now, we keep going back for the great food, coffee and friendliness of the owner and staff, they have created a great a place with a welcoming atmosphere.

Lovely food..clean building, great staff and the coffee is spot on. Nice atmosphere and made to feel welcome. Eaten breakfast and lunch here and always fresh produce and nice portion sizes

My first time at Leoni, the cafe itself and decoration was beautiful . The fact the cafe was bust says to me the food is good. I’m a celiac and rarely eat out because choices are not that available. I have a pastrami and ementel cheese sandwich with gluten free bread I have to say was fabulous. I would no doubt visit this cafe again. Thank you Dom .

The best coffee shop in Malton by miles. Always super friendly service and delicious food and drinks. The coffee shake is to die for and should probably be illegal. Panini from the specials board was delicious and the side salad so fresh and tasty. The surroundings are so stylish and everything goes together so well, love the record player!

went today for lunch the place was packed but we got a table i ordered the chicken mozzarella and pesto panini my wife had the gluten-free soup and we had tea the tea came and it was tepid even after having a pot of hot water it was not warm the food arrived, my wife said the soup was fine but my pannini had something missing not quite sure what we paid and left we will not be returning

Bakewell was amazing and cream scone delicious. Kids had a milkshake and hot chocolate with them classed as 'best ever'. Great cafe, friendly service, clean and really tasty food and drink. Definitely recommend.

One of my favourite places for lunch. Staff are always faultless, as is the food. Produce is always fresh and great quality. The side salad has attention to detail and variety. My only 'complaint' is that I do always leave still hungry!! Portions are quite small. Sandwiches/wraps/paninis would benefit from some crisps or something on the side roo, or maybe a side option of chunky chips.

Had a pit stop for coffee on way to Whitby. The barista was friendly and helpful. The coffee was hot and strong. Great little find - would happily return.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Good menu and delicious food. Very accommodating when a slightly picky 5 year old couldn't find anything he liked; the staff took time to concoct a lovely meal he could, and did, enjoy. Thoroughly recommend.

Awesome hot chocolate and faultless Americano. We are so often disappointed with drinks which should be simple to get right, but so often is mediocre. This place gets it SOOOOO right!

The best coffee! We enjoyed the decaf and bought a pack to take home. The beans were ground for us in the shop. We would have liked to eat some food, but just passing through. The food menu looked really good. Another time we're over in Malton, we will definitely head to Leoni's to eat a meal and drink their coffee. Would recommend!

Had lunch here a couple of weeks ago and its was delicious. There was lots of meals to choose from and portions were massive. Service was excellent too 🙂

Stumbled across this unassuming cafe while in Malton and what a pleasure 😊 It's so nice to see a thriving independent with a menu that offers something a bit different. An amazing, filling cheese scone and accompaniments for just £4(!), tasty cheese on toast and for me, a gorgeously fruity combo of homemade peach iced tea and a peach and brie panini. All delicious... We'll be back on our next holiday!

We visited Malton for the food fair. We don’t know Malton but liked the look of Leoni’s. What a fantastic find! Everything about it was great. The coffee (we had their own blend, but other speciality coffees were available) was lovely - just the right balance and very tasty. Their selection of food was varied. We chose a cake each (choc flapjack and Bakewell tart - utterly divine). Portions were a good size too. The staff were very friendly - the owner was very happy to discuss coffee and was very enthusiastic (and interesting). No pretentiousness. The price was very competitive and it was a much more personal experience than we have experienced in National ‘chains’. We would thoroughly commend Leoni’s to all - a lovely experience. We shall definitely be returning.

Leoni's appeared to be full when we walked in so we stood by the door for a short time, a gentleman came to greet us and I asked if they were full? He pointed out a vacant table for two by the wall and we were soon seated. The cafe was very busy and we had time to browse the menu and watch some very nice plates of food being brought out. We were there for a lunch rather than a snack so we both ordered the seafood platter. We were served by a friendly waitress and were very pleased with the service. We were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food we received and it was all delicious. my wife is very particular about the way food is prepared and presented and even she couldn't fault it, commenting that the salmon was cooked perfectly. We didn't want dessert so had a cup of hot chocolate to finish our meal. This too was delicious. We will definitely visit again next time we're in Malton.

Great food and lovely staff. Went again today, smaller menu, no wraps but still lovely food and still lovely staff. Another visit. Just as lovely as always.

It's a great little eatery that is well worth a visit if you are in Malton. The food is fabulous.

We nipped in just before the lunch rush during the food festival, and were pleased to find a space in the window with room for our small buggy. The service was super friendly, and they had space in the women’s for baby changing. We both had coffee milkshakes - we originally asked for iced coffees so were a little surprised at the ice cream in them at first but they were amazing. Would definitely come back!

After making a purchase at Thomas the Baker I asked where they would recommend as the best cafe in town. They instantly said 'Leoni's' and they were right ! Quirky interior, very friendly and helpful staff, superb coffee and an outstanding slab of Yorkshire parkin beautifully presented in a bowl with a drizzle of chocolate sauce, a little jug of cream and topped with a strawberry. I'll definitely be back.

I remember Leoni’s opening years ago and on returning to Malton recently, was so happy to see it still in business. What a marvellous place - cosy and warm. The staff are amazing and friendly. Lovely to see the younger generation conversing with us oldies confidently. As for the food - wow! Ploughman’s was huge and at £12 a bargain. Milk shakes so fresh and tasty. Will defo return and recommend.

One of the best places in Malton. Delicious food, some great sandwich filling choices. Cater to gluten free, and the bread is phenomenal. Recommend the shakes too. The staff are super lovely and friendly. We are local and come here regularly. All around amazing, honestly.

I visited Malton today and stumbled across this lovely coffee shop. Very friendly and welcoming staff. I had a latte which was piping hot. I also had a Malton Monster which I’d never heard of but a fellow diner recommended it. I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a scone type bake with spices, cherries and almonds, can highly recommend. Friendly staff, heavenly tasty food.

Arrived early one morning and was only their second customer. Said hello to the server as I entered, and yet was completely ignored whilst he served people who had arrived after me. Left in disgust, and I won’t be back!

Popped in for a tea and sandwhich on a wet day between Christmas and New Year. Very tasty and lovely decor.

Went to Leoni with my grandchildren. Espresso for me , scrumptious cakes for the kids. Friendly, clean, good value for money. Keep it up Dominic

We found this cafe a few years ago and visit at least once whenever we're in the area. The range is great for fussy people, veggie and meat eaters. The cakes, brownies etc are amazing!

Good service, fabulous coffee, great tea (I was told, I don't drink it myself!) Generous portions. My husband had a ham and mustard sandwich which was generously filled and I had a ploughman's lunch that was HUGE with a good chunk of blue cheese, one of cheddar, home cooked ham, mini pork pies, apple, salad, chutney, coleslaw and a lovely white bread bun. I was a bit disappointed because I had my eye on a fresh scone with jam and cream but I didn't have room. It's only small and we got the last available table that we could see, however, I realised that there is also seating upstairs, so if it looks full don't assume that it is, check with the staff.

Extremely dry bacon sandwich, really needed butter. The staff seemed really confused about which table they were serving. On the plus side, the cakes did look lovely.

The menu doesn't say that the scones are toasted and come with butter. They were dry and doughy, and not nice at all. It also had butter already spread on which is just disgusting combination with clothed cream. I am allergic to certain types of butter. When i mentioned it to the weitres they just looked like i fell from Mars. I was not offered un-toasted one. I was also not referring to sunflower butter, just shows she doesn't even remember what allergy i was talking about. Just as well that mine isn't severe enough to kill me.

Leonis never fails to hitt the right mark, amazing service and food is to die for I had a toasted panini and my other half had a sandwich so filling and great value for money definitely will return to this gem

Out of the rain, into this lovely warming cafe. Staff friendly, and one recommended an amazing Colombian cafetiere coffee as there was so much choice. Ordered a "Malton monster" and a cream scone which were beautifully baked. Will be coming back for a fresh salad...

One of the best places to eat in Malton , superb food , excellent vegetarian options , retro decor , lovely staff , more favoured by adults so hardly any wailing infants to spoil your meal. Warning it gets very busy so you often have to wait for a seat at peak times. My top eatery recommendation for Malton 😁😎

We called in for lunch on a cold breezy Thursday lunchtime & ust managed to get the last availabe table. Reception was friendly & we did not wait long to order. The coffee was good and the vegetable soup was delightful. Atmosphere was very relaxed....

Small and cramped, you are lucky to get a table in this busy and popular cafe. The service is friendly, welcoming and very quick which I really appreciate after my experiences at the nearby Deli. The coffee is outstanding and the food excellent.

We had lunch here yesterday and it was fantastic! Highly recommend the platters! We would have loved some cake but were too full :( maybe next time! Staff were friendly and efficient, a well run, made to order place. Well done team!
