An amazing find in delightful Pickering in a lovely quiet residential area a few minutes walk away from the Steam Railway and town centre. Warm welcome from our host. We had a lovely room overlooking the rear garden. It's a beautiful old building with nice high ceilings, and the room we had was fresh, light and contemporary. Everything was clean. The breakfast was excellent. Fruit salad was fresh. Kippers were on offer, and my partner had the full English which looked amazing. The sausages were gluten free from a local butcher, so intolerances can be catered for with notice. A delightful stay, and an absolute must when we return to the area.

9 old university friends meet each year and this was our hotel choice for 2024. Very quiet, 5 mins walk into town and good rooms. Exceptional service by Valerie the host, nothing is too much trouble. Valerie cooked for us on the Sunday evening from a comprehensive pre selection menu. Just delicious, home cooking at its best. The Breakfast is also not to be missed, excellent. We all agreed a lovely place to stay and we would not hesitate to return.

We only stayed one night but really enjoyed the comfort and personal service of the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff who made us feel like we were the only guests in the place (though, obviously, we werent). We have family in Malton, which is just a short drive away and will definitely stay here again when we visit.

So polite and very helpful. Staff are incredibly friendly and will go out of their way to help you out. Full English breakfast was spot on and location perfect. I'd highly recommend booking for a visit to Pickering NYMR

Fantastic host, Best place I have stayed thus far. Val the host was so lovely and attentive to all our needs she went above and beyond. Breakfast was excellent and very substantial. Our room was clean, cosy and had everything and more we could of asked for. Location is great everything within a few mins walking distance. Will definitely be staying again.

A small place but with a great amount of choice of food and drink. I always get the barbecue chicken and bacon panini because it’s extremely delicious. There’s a good amount of filling in the panini; it’s packed with barbecue flavoured chicken, bacon and cheese. I like the seating outside viewing the town.

Having been to the Stapleton Arms at Wass on many occasions and even been shown the bedrooms, 4 of us booked B&B and evening meals. I booked online 2 rooms. The 'Superior' room £150 per night and the other £100. However, we were not aware the venue had changed hands but it almost immediately became apparent. The stairs leading to the bedrooms looked very tierd and unhoovered. The landing and our bedroom stank of burnt fat and the rooms were very basic and on opening the wardrobe I found empty drink bottles. The door to the shower had black rising up it and the shower just ran like a tap.. Our meal was fine and our friends ordered a bottle of champagne which cost £70 which we were happy to pay but when the bill for the meal arrived it was altogether £340. They had even charged extra for a blob of icecream on my pudding as they said icecream was an extra. Next morning we met at breakfast only to discover that our friend staying in the 'Superior' room, one of whom is very seriously ill and this was supposed to be a treat during a break from treatment, found the shower was not working and they couldn't find a shaving ;point. Just to add insult to injury one of our party ordered a poached egg and when it arrived the toast was burnt black on the underside and my bacon was floating in fat. Had it not been for the fact that one of our party was very ill and we didn't want to make a fuss we paid up the bill and left. Not once did the manager ask us if everything was o.k. He was totally uninterested. What a nightmare stay. Never again, The next morning I phoned to speak to the owner but she was not at work but would ring me on the Thursday of that week. She never rang. I rang back a week later and was told the owner had been given my complaint and she would ring me but another weerk later I have received no response. I suppose she is £600 better off and we will never grace their doors again.

While looking for an Indian restaurant we came across this place, and after reading the positive reviews we decided to give it a try, and we were NOT disappointed. Beautiful atmosphere. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Stunning food. Couldn't ask for anything better. Would love to return.
