What a pleasant surprise! I came here for some lunch to take out while at work one day and was expecting an average salad box as that is normally the standard for salads (and I’ve eaten a lot of salads) I was shocked when I opened the box to find proper, real, thick slices of ham, as well as plenty of mixed salad and fresh coleslaw. The whole thing was delicious and I will 100% be back for lunch again.

It is the best food in Goole, no precooked stuff, full breakfast is as much as you can eat.
They also do Dinners, sandwiches and all at great prices, service is excellent and staff are always cheerful.
We have been in most of the eating houses in Goole but this one shines above all the others.
Only open Thursday evening and Friday lunch, best to book in advance. We had two courses, cauliflower soup and fish cake starters and roast pork and rainbow trout mains. Cost was exceptional value at £21. Was delicious and professionally served by the students. Would highly recommend.
I have lived in the village for 20+ years and have always meant to visit this tea room. I did this March and had a breakfast which was delicious and very good value. The setting is small but well presented with China cups not mugs and the ladies very helpful, will go back
My partner and I have visted gatehouse many times since opening, it is fair to say it is one of our favourite places to eat now. We where slightly sceptical when it fisrt opened due to the previous restaurant that occupied the building, the new owners havent done to much to the decor so still feels rather empty but still cosy and inviting. On out last visit my wife had the fish and chips as always and i tried the house steak for the first time, i have to say it was perfectly cooked and was very tender and flavoursom, the chips where to die for too (but i already knew that as we both normally have the fish and chips). The food and drinks are reasonably priced especially for the area and compared to what other restaurants locally charge. My only slightly negative is there is no draught beer but still a good choice of bottles. Overall a very good place to dine out for any occasion.
First time visited here and not disappointed. While not a vegetarian, I did not miss meat in this super tasty and freshly made wrap. While they don't have gluten free options (I asked for a co-worker) anything in a wrap can be served as a salad box. Great food, friendly server and well worth the money.
Update...came back again with the husband...still excellent...
Card payment accepted but pay cash if you can....doesn't cost small businesses!
I visited here on Easter Sunday . What a wonderful restaurant. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The food was wonderful.
I will definitely return and can highly recommend
Well this a fantastic idea to have a mobile pizza van with a traditional wood oven!
Everything is fresh and I’ve got to say the pizzas we got were absolutely gorgeous!
Also available for private functions

I have been here many times now, especially recently this March. Previously me and my family have been to their ice cream parlor during the summer. The Ice creams are always super creamy and delicious. They also have many animals out during the warmer months, like goats, chickens, rabbits, ponies, and more. I've been quite a few times to their café, and a couple of times I've had my lunch there. All of their food is so fresh and tasty, and they have plenty of options for vegans and anyone who's gluten free. They have a lovely variety of cakes, and it's the best place to go to if you love cheesecakes. I enjoyed their white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake so much that I had another slice the next time I came back (but you definitely need a massive sweet tooth/sugar tolerance for that one). The staff are extremely friendly and always up for a nice chat. The prices are great, and the environment is always cozy and warm. It's a great place to go if you prefer smaller, quieter spaces.
Just have to say how fabulous this bakery shop is bought to fruit scones with cherry and half slice of orange on top wish I had bought more I highly recommend also the sausage rolls visited several times and always wish I had bought more
My daughter and I was in the area for an appointment. Whist waiting we decided to find somewhere to get something to eat and came across this lovely cafe. The owners are just lovely, attentive, chatty with great sense of humour. The atmosphere was great, customers chatting to each other and the owners seem to have a great rapour with their regular customers as well as building great relationship with new customers.Due to my daughter's appointment over running, I stayed for quite sometime and although there was a constant flow of customers I was able to get on and do some work whilst waiting. The owner made regular check backs without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was cooked to order and really lovely. All in all a really lovely place and we will be back soon.
