Called for an early lunch on Wednesday afternoon. It was very busy but luckily managed to get a table. This place is my favourite go to for breakfast or lunch. The guy is a chef… not a cook. The food he turns out… it’s fantastic. More like something you’d get in a fancy London restaurant not a little cafe in Thorne! We ordered quiche , bbq chicken toastie and chicken and leek pie and everything was perfect. All homemade, the chicken in the pie melted in the mouth. Best chips around and my quiche had a really tasty side salad with balsamic glaze. I keep saying I’m going to try a theme night here but haven’t got round to it yet, but it’s definitely something I need to try… the photos look amazing. The waitresses are always really friendly too… very clean establishment…. Best cafe in Yorkshire!!

Super clean, bright and airy relaxed vibe. Food hot, fresh and tasty. Great little bring your own booze restaurant, obviously locals love it, huge number of takeaways & deliveries done. I'd recommend booking a table. I'll be back for sure. Thank you

This is such a charming little coffee shops. The food is delicious, the drinks taste great (and they even warm the cups so your drink doesn’t get cold as quickly!) The toilet facilities are clean, and they even have some diapers for parents to use. There is just one toilet, however. The decor is charming and welcoming, some of it is a bit lived in but I feel this almost adds to the charm of a rustic cafe. The staff are friendly and polite and it seems like they are a great team. Value for money is also excellent, we got a cup of tea (that actually turned out to be 2, as came in a pot), a hot chocolate with marshmallows and two pieces of cake for £12! Would highly recommend this place, no matter the occasion for a cup of hot joe!

We decided to book the restaurant on the back of the excellent reviews. Before visiting the restaurant I also had a look at the menus & they seemed really appealing. We had the prawn skewers & ham terrine for starters , and we both had the “special “ of the lamb curry at £26.50. The ham hock terrine was nice, but the prawn starter was £10 for 5 prawns on a slice of naan bread with a few accompaniments. I tasted a prawn & in my opinion they were just ok, nothing great. When we tasted the lamb in the curry, it was not at all tender like you would expect. The accompanying relishes were a tiny ( ie approx 1/2 teaspoon ) of lime pickle , some mango chutney , rice, naan & pappadom. It wasn’t the prices so much, as being in the Lake District we expected this given the inflated prices usually experienced. For me it was the “ordinary” quality of the food. The quality was nothing special that would make me want to return. I of course cannot be sure, but for example in my view, the naan breads were too uniform in size , texture & taste, making me wonder about their origin ( shop bought vs made In House ?, I will never know ). And yes, the curry came with , for example , lime pickle, but the portion was so small, it felt meaningless. I am respectful of others opinions within the reviews on this site, but I will not be returning.
