The best restaurants in Penyghent Craven Yorkshire and The Humber

This place is in a beautiful location. After a hard day cycling, we we had run out of water and food. Although the tea-room was closed we asked if our water bottles could be topped up. The lady who owns the place was busy but she could not have been more kind and helpful. She brought us delicious home-made chocolate cake and filter coffee and stayed for a chat. Absolutely amazing customer service and saved us that day! Thank you!

We visited for afternoon tea and were very impressed. The service was excellent, friendly and welcoming. The afternoon tea was outstanding and a change from the norm, a savory delight. The location is a little remote but well worth the travel, set in the countryside ten minutes from Settle, a hidden gem.

Lovely atmosphere and food with friendly service

Called in for Sunday lunch. The most unappetising meal I have ever been offered. I ordered chicken breast in a peppercorn sauce. The plate arrived and I immediately noticed the frozen packet veg, the chicken was in a separate dish - all chopped up, mixed with the sauce. It had obviously been cooked beforehand and just warmed up as it was very stringy. It came with dark skinned whole potatoes which looked like they hadn't been washed with separate individual portions of butter. I tried, but the peppered sauce it was so, so hot I could only eat a couple of mouthfuls, my friend also tried it and she agreed. In the end I swapped it with my husband's roast beef as he can eat anything hot and spicy! I ploughed my way through the - not so tender beef and hard sweetcorn but mentioned it to the waitress who agreed that the chicken was far too hot for her too! I enjoyed the "bought in" sticky toffee pudding but will not be returning and would not recommend.

A great village pub,great food and a good selection of drinks.

Well, to start with, the staff made us very welcome and were efficient, kind and knowledgeable. The pub was very comfortable to be in. Beers outstanding, my other half said the wine was brilliant too, good quality and served to perfection. All service was with a smile. I am a creature of habit and when gammon is available I choose that with the eggs and fries, this was perfect. My other half (keeps telling me it should be 'the wife' or my best mate, had the salmon and that disappeared! Would recommend to anyone who wants good and I mean very good food at very reasonable prices. After the quality and amount of the main meal I also recommend the creme brullee. A very delicious and satisfying belly filler!

Después de conducir por Yorkshire Dale's, necesitábamos una bebida y un aperitivo. Nos encontramos con este pequeño salón de té encantador y no nos decepcionó, peculiar y pintoresco yo diría, muy amable, gran relación calidad-precio también.

We dropped in at the end of our walk on the off chance we could get some food. The staff were super accommodating and seated 11 of us in the restaurant. The waiting staff were so lovely, customer service goes a long way and the two waitresses that served us were great! All 11 of us had our food come out together, it was fresh and hot! Just what we needed after 12 hours of walking! Coming on here to review I was very surprised by other reviews, as we had a lovely experience! Thank you for accommodating and feeding some very tired and hungry walkers!!
