We visited last weekend as a party of 16, we pre ordered are meals to make it easier for everyone. We were seated in the dining room which was made private for us which was lovely. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. We can't thank all the staff enough everything was perfect and made our festive weekend great. Thank you again for a brilliant meal.

I recently visited the Black Horse for a school reunion and Christmas dinner, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. This charming village pub is a gem, striking the perfect balance between welcoming locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. Our group had a private room for the evening, which was beautifully set up for the occasion. The Christmas dinner was fantastic—delicious, served piping hot, and perfectly timed for our party. The care and effort put into both the food and service were evident, making the evening a memorable one for everyone. Whether you're looking for a cosy drink in a relaxed setting or planning a special occasion, the Black Horse is a wonderful choice. I can’t recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning soon.

4 cask ales including 2 Tim Taylors. Excellent food but despite a recent refurbishment, it's lacking a defined dining area. Very good, friendly bar staff.

This was our last outing before returning home,we previously booked a table for Sunday lunch. The pub is a very delightful olde inn with some very nice decor,I opted for the roast lamb with all the seasonal veg. The meal was very nicely presented with a touch of style and flair, the lamb was beautifully cooked along with the vegetables which were cooked to perfection, also the Yorkshire pudding was amazingly placed lovingly on top of the meal, desert was bourbon sticky toffee pudding with a scoop of ice-cream.overall a very welcoming and pleasant experience along with very good prices, this place is well worth a visit if your in the area.

Had one overnight stay as at Settle for a concert. Early evening meal was very good quality, home made. Great choice of hand pulled beers. Warm welcome, nice people who deserve to succeed. A tight squeeze to get into the car park, not for the faint hearted but is achievable. There is no parking in the village.

We have just fallen upon this little gem whilst staying near Austwick.. We were looking for somewhere to eat. I had the Cajun Haddock with seasonal vegetables & my hubby had The steak pie with chips. It was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked & very tasty. I pinched some meat from the pie 🤤😋 The landlord Chris & the lady bar person were very friendly & welcoming as were the locals. We stayed for another drink & enjoyed their company. Would 100% recommend the food, I saw it all coming out & a very reasonable price.

Had lamb which was very tasty and good size, but the mash was so small that I stayed hungry for the night after a full day of hiking. Staff was not accommodating at all, not offering a little more mash or a dessert or anything. I'd rather have a nice big portion of pub food rather than trying to make it fancy and small. Why go tight on potatoes which are the cheapest?! Pic for size reference.

We were in Giggleswick after completing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge. We nipped into the Black Horse in just as the kitchen was closing at 8pm. They were very accommodating considering the time and we received a warm welcome which was lovely. The staff were very friendly and we were well looked after. I had the burger with cheese and bacon and it was absolutely delicious, best burger I've had in a long time. Thanks for having us, I'd definitely come again

Had a couple of nights in Giggleswick, Black Horse just across the road, so convenient. The option of draught Ales and lagers were good, serving local brewed beers. Good option on the food menu, not too fussy, enjoyed the pudding. Would visit again next time in the area.

What a fantastic pub and stay. Sort of the pub you would want as a local and be really proud of. Great range of proper beers and ciders. Fantastic food and reasonable prices. Lovely rooms, with simple clean decor. Felt cared for, like staying with family. Breakfast was stunning. You didn't need to have everything. They let you choose... I just can't say no.

Nice dog-friendly place with varied seating on the ground floor and upstairs. The slow cooked beef sandwich was nice. The soup was too salty to eat, and they replaced it for me with something else of my choice. The waitress was nice. I had a Bakewell tart, and it was quite nice. The flat white was really good. They had a few beers on tap, including Guinness.

Called in for Sunday lunch. The most unappetising meal I have ever been offered. I ordered chicken breast in a peppercorn sauce. The plate arrived and I immediately noticed the frozen packet veg, the chicken was in a separate dish - all chopped up, mixed with the sauce. It had obviously been cooked beforehand and just warmed up as it was very stringy. It came with dark skinned whole potatoes which looked like they hadn't been washed with separate individual portions of butter. I tried, but the peppered sauce it was so, so hot I could only eat a couple of mouthfuls, my friend also tried it and she agreed. In the end I swapped it with my husband's roast beef as he can eat anything hot and spicy! I ploughed my way through the - not so tender beef and hard sweetcorn but mentioned it to the waitress who agreed that the chicken was far too hot for her too! I enjoyed the "bought in" sticky toffee pudding but will not be returning and would not recommend.

May I suggest when serving toasted tea cakes they arrive with you hot and the butter is not frozen. it makes buttering impossible and they taste so much better hot.
