Our group of 10 people from a “Cake Club” had a really enjoyable afternoon tea and canal boat trip on 19 June. Andy and Caroline were very friendly hosts. The afternoon tea was delicious. The food was fresh, tasty and varied. Caroline was an excellent host….attentive but not intrusive. The canal boat trip was delightful. We journeyed effortlessly from Dunhampstead to just past Hanbury Wharf and back, which is an interesting and peaceful section of the Birmingham to Worcester canal. It included going through Dunhampstead Tunnel. Andy and Caroline rolled up the “windows” before we set out, as it was a sunny afternoon. We felt close to nature and were fortunate to see a family of swans and a heron, as well as ducks and moor hens in the reed beds. We all really enjoyed the trip and would certainly recommend it. Did not enjoy my Sunday’s lunch at all, service was very cold, food was below average, roast potatoes were terrible, not fresh at all and not crispy, veggies tasteless, asked for a glass of champagne £12 and received only a quarter of a glass it looked ridiculous, coffee were served cold.Overall it did not taste fresh. Will not be returning.

We had phoned in advance to arrange a pub stopover in our campervan. We arrived at 7.15pm and parked in a level space in the rear car park. The pub had new managers 2 months ago and we were made to feel most welcome. Although the decor is a bit tired and dated, we didn't mind as it is more important to us for a pub to have a dog friendly bar area. We ordered two vegetarian lasagne with a side of chips and it was perfect. Great taste and great value. I cannot recommend this place highly enough for either a campervan stopover, a drink by the water or a tasty meal. It must be difficult taking over a business that hadn't been doing well, but I am sure that as people find out how good the food is, these guys will do great. The pub is right next to the canal and has picnic benches overlooking the water.

Superb venue for a recent family funeral wake. Harriett went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and extremely welcome. Highly recommend you give these great people serious consideration for hosting.

It is a lovely traditional plant nursery with very keen prices, and the plants are well cared for. The tea room is lovely, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Very good value, with a good pot of quality tea and a generous slice of cake. Will return.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, the cake / sandwiches are lovely and fresh. It's a very pleasant environment to sit and have a snack (indoors or out) and is heavily used by lots of local cycling groups. My only suggestion for improvement would be glad ketchup / sauce bottles instead of the dreaded single use plastic sachets! I look forward to returning to see if these eco-friendly guilt free condiments appear!
