This is just an excellent pub. A proper pub with a warm welcome, great atmosphere and lovely staff. Wish it were closer to our home! All the best your friends from Cornwall.

Great small restaurant with an interesting lunch menu. The food is described fined for sharing and 2 or 3 plates are recommended. I had Danish frikkedellar, my husband had pork belly. Both beautifully presented small lunch portions. The coffee was good, the service unobtrusive and the views from the outside terrace are also good. Not fast food, but stunnngly good food. Also. A good stop for coffee and cake, or Fika.

Despite its rather unassuming exterior this small restaurant (now known as Thai Mere) comprising two ground floor dining rooms surpassed expectations. Having seen recent favourable reviews on TripAdvisor my intention was to stop for an early Saturday dinner. However, returning from Oswestry much earlier than planned with my wife and daughter we arrived at 1.20 p.m. Greeted upon entering we waited a couple of minutes during a service and were then shown to a table in the first section where nearby two couples were seated. Our drinks of Singha beer and tonic waters promptly arrived and we were then able to concentrate our minds on the serious task of menu selection. The first course of Poa Taek (mixed seafood soup including prawns, mussels and squid) and Prawn Tempura (tiger prawns in batter) followed. It was immediately evident from the presentation that the authentic cooking was on another scale when compared to many similar establishments. Visually appealing, well seasoned, succulent seafood, with good size portions was just the start. For mains we chose Nuea Pad Gatiem (stir-fried beef with garlic ), Pad Thai Chicken, Gai Pad Bai Gaprao (stir fried chicken with chilli and beans), Larb Mooh (minced pork), and Egg Fried Rice. After this feast only one diner succumbed to a dessert of Banana Bai and Ice cream. A consensus of opinion scored top marks for a very enjoyable lunch. Mention should also be made of the excellent service, high level of cleanliness (including washroom facilities), the comfortable seating, as well as the atmospheric Thai setting. Based on our first experience this little gem deserves to succeed.

Every time we visit Cambrian Antiques in Oswestry, we pop up to Neet's coffee shop for one of her delicious cups of tea, sandwiches/baps and (my wife) the delicious homemade cakes on offer. Neet never disappoints with her friendly service (she has a photographic memory and remembers many of her regular customers, even if it's been months inbetween!), nothing is rushed, simply a delight to visit.

One of the last remaining true country pubs that hasn’t been taken over by a brewery or large chain we are so lucky. Feel compelled to counterbalance some poor reviews by a previous post. Full disclosure : Yes you will bump into some friendly farmers it’s their local as farming is a large proportion of the employment in this area : I can guarantee they will welcome you with open arms. You will likely be greeted at the door when you enter the pub but that’s because it’s a small pub and the main door enters into the bar. You will be greeted with a smile and a welcome by the locals we don’t like ignoring people in this area it’s not our style. I can 100% refute the comment about locals not seeing well dressed ladies and can confirm that the floors of the royal George has been walked on in some incredible footwear jimmy choo , louboutin and fairfax and favour to name a few … but yes you will see the majority of people wearing comfy casual because people visit the George to relax. The beer and food is fantastic , the landlady and staff amazing and the locals friendly. If you’re looking for a soulless pub that has been stripped of all its character and has out-priced the locals then this is NOT the pub for you. May I suggest the weather spoons in the local town. If you’re looking for a characterful pub with friendly locals cracking beer great food and fantastic hosts look no further . You are likely to be brought into conversation by said locals and maybe a farmer or two but don’t worry they aren’t trying to ‘jump you’ they are just being friendly and genuinely interested in who you are .

My wife and I visited Ludlow Tuesday 26th March, beautiful day, a few more shut down shops since our last visit, but a lovely stroll around the town was rewarded by the welcome and choice of Gluten Free food at the Wesleys Cafe, at a generour price.. Lovely volunteers helping, having a chat updating us on Ludlow activities. Well worth calling again on our next visit to Ludlow.

The best ice cream I have tasted in UK. Took me 25 and odd years to taste something the real Italian gelato (if not even better). Unfortunately limited choice of flavours for my likening but what we tasted was all amazing. Brits please don't stick to vanilla, chocolate and raspberry. Push your boats. The orange and saffron was delicious. Home made cones is an extra bonus too. Well done. Or should I say: Bravi, mamma mia!

I’ve been to Moorish at least 5 times now with family, every single time the food has been top notch. Incredible consistency and you will not be disappointed with any dish. Staff are super friendly with great service, one chef even told us some tips and suggested their spices and rubs which were beautiful. 10/10 highly recommend!

What a sunday lunch, fixed price for three courses generous courses plus a homemade bread appetiser with honey butter and marmite butter - delicious. Choice of three starters, three main courses and three desserts. The mains came with 5 vegetables and a yorkshire. The portions were amble so in the end ended up with extras as a takeaway. Service was attentive.
