Fantastic Sunday dinner massive and a separate jug of gravy even give you a container with your left overs in if you can’t finish it all. Huge value for money, lovely cozy log fire dog friendly and very clean will definitely be returning

This is a lovely little pub, dog friendly and the staff are welcoming. There are two lovely large log burners, a nice selction of seating areas including a cosy snug. There are a variety of alcoholic drinks (not sure on non-alcoholic, I didn’t check). There is a lovely large beer garden to soak up the british rays. The food was very average, greasy but nice and the price reflected the quality of food so I feel it’s well priced for what I was served.

In the area and needed to eat in early evening, found this pub and popped in to see what was available. To our delight the food was all locally sourced and prepared. We settled on the Steak and Ale pie. It did not take too long to arrive and the portions were large. There was a huge amount of meat in the pie which was delicious. The chips were home made, not frozen and really good. All in all a great place with friendly staff.

This is not a review of the pubs food. It is a review of the owners attitude. I parked my car up at 10:30am off the road and on their car park only to respond to an urgent text message. Whilst I was replying the owner smoking a cigarette asked me to open my window. Her demeanour was very passive aggressive. Smoke was blowing into my car at this point. She said to me “where are you going?” In a very haughty tone. I asked her why she wanted to know that and she told me to get off her car park. Firstly I was only there to send a text so I wasn’t doing it whilst I was driving or on the side of the road. Secondly it was 10:30 (a whole 1hr and a half before her pub opened). My being there for five minutes would not have impacted her at all. Did she check how long I’d be there for? Nope. I would have had no problem with her asking me to leave even if that is what she had led with. I absolutely acknowledge I was on her car park yet what would have been nice if she had been curious to find out how long I planned on being there rather than act in a very passive aggressive manner. If the door to the pub had even been open, I would have even gone inside to ask if it was ok to park up for five minutes. I was even planning to go to my meeting and stop back off there for lunch earlier today but I certainly won’t be returning now. Might be good food according to the reviews, but her manners could do with an overhaul. She may also want to consider trying to be curious about someone else’s world and intentions before assuming the worst in people before acting on her passive agressive impulses. Asking me where I was going especially in such a manner was irrelevant to what she really wanted to say and totally innapropriate.

Great pub that doesn't show up on Google Maps in Minsterley. We called in here on the off chance of some food after being turned away from the Nags Head in Pontesbury for having 2 dogs and not 1, bizarre!! So glad the Nags Head turned us away, the welcome received here was fantastic, by all staff. More importantly the food and drink was both a lot more reasonable and faultless in quality, thank you so much the staff of the Crown and Sceptre for giving us a great eating out experience!!

We called here, a place we’d not visited before. for a late lunch on our way to a holiday destination. We were welcomed by a delightful lady behind the bar. Drinks were very reasonably priced as were all the items on a menu offering hearty pub meals. Our food was served promptly and was delicious. All staff were very polite and personable and the whole ambience of this traditional village pub was warm and friendly. We will certainly return the next time we’re in this area.

Staying on a campsite just up the road we popped in first for a quick drink. Received a warm welcome from staff and customers alike. Sat outside in a terraced, well maintained beer garden. Went back for a meal the next day - same welcome, generous (an understatement) portions and very reasonable prices. Great pub. I wish we lived closer…

What an amazing pub/restaurant! We were struggling to find somewhere who would allow our three dogs! Well they welcomed us in and we loved every second! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, someone also bought our dogs some pork scratching which they loved!! The atmosphere was lovely, pub was lovely, not one bad thing to say! To top it all off we had a takeaway Sunday dinner the next day! Let’s just say they are no stingy with their portion sizes!! We were stuffed! Food was great! We will be back in the summer!!

Had a great lunch at the crown today. We had the pork and lamb both cooked to perfection. Potatoes and veg were lovely and lots and lots of gravy 😋 the free pudding for the mums was a really nice touch. Would defiantly recommend this place.

I have family that live in the village and had used the pub a long time ago but since new owners have been in place we have used this regularly when visiting the area. Proper hearty pub grub, friendly staff and good beer. We have also attended Bingo a couple of times which my kids love and there seems to be a lot going on and is starting to feel like a proper old school community pub.

After working all weekend at the NEC we decided to go out for Sunday lunch to the Crown And Sceptre. We have eaten there in the week and never been disappointed as the food is always well cooked and the portions are very generous. The Sunday lunch lived up to our expectations, a choice of Beef or Pork with all of the vegetables you would expect but I need to mention the honey glazed carrots and parsnips which were amazing. The meat was cooked to perfection and the gravy was just how I like it. The staff are all very friendly and just as important they keep a good pint. If you're in the area it's well worth a visit.

My favourite place to eat! The staff are lovely, the decor is gorgeous and hand painted by one of the owners. The menu is full of exciting fresh foods and is updated with new recipes all the time! I always enjoy whatever I choose and sometimes I'll even get to sample new menu items before they're released! Cannot fault this place at all.

We held our Christmas do at The Townhouse, the menu was amazing, we had exclusive use of the cocktail bar and restaurant as we had over 30 people attending. The upstairs bar was a perfect start to the evening serving a good range of beers. wines and cocktails, the food was fabulous, the staff were brilliant providing excellent service, the evening was a great success.
