Don’t visit Ludlow without a trip to Icon coffee shop in St Laurence church near the market place Not only do you get to look at a fantastic church you also get amazing coffee,,tea and truly tasty cakes on lovely quiet surroundings. All profits go to the church so you get a ‘feel good’ factor as well Highly recommended - Go Enjoy!

Lovely atmosphere Great coffee Have gone there a number of times. This visit was very festive with the Christmas Fair going. The hand bell choir was playing. In addition there is the gift shop with very nice decorative items, cards, candles, etc.

Had been into church the previous day, but didn't need sustenance then; did today though. Called in for drinks, which were very nice, and served in interesting cups (read church magazine). Also good looking food at reasonable prices; would have liked to try something, but wasn't allowed as we'd only recently had a large breakfast! Well worth a visit, and nice that donation could be made for those who couldn't afford coffee - homeless, etc.

My meeting with a colleague was enhanced by possibly the best coffee I’ve had in Shropshire, and an absolutely delicious slice of sticky ginger cake. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. To have a wonderful cup of coffee, and lovely cake, in such unique surroundings was amazing. Icon Coffee is in St Laurence’s Church, which is a stunning medieval building full of history. It’s sometimes called “The Cathedral of the Marches” and I could see why. I could happily have eaten many more of the delicious-looking cake options on offer, so will definitely be back next time I’m in the town!

Who would have thought that such a lovely café existed within such a magnificent church building. We discovered this on a walking tour of Ludlow and returned to enjoy a cup of tea there. For us it was particularly good as we have a large dog and many of the lovely cafes do have much space to accommodate him. A warm welcome awaits you as you go into the church. We had a lovely refreshmen, followed by a walk round the church where we were given lots of fascinating information by one of the stewards which was most welcome. In addition, there is a lovely gift shop inside. Highly recommended. Even more so on a rainy day as it us do spacious within.

£2.50 for stewed tea is not my idea of value for money. Beautiful church and surroundings, need to pay more attention to customers rather than chatting to other staff.

Fabulous food, all homemade and qualoty coffee. Lovely people. I particularly liked the tableware. One of the best shops too in the church. Most of all the stained glass windows. Just lovely.

What a fantastic location in the historic surroundings of St Laurence's Church! An imaginative creation of a coffee shop which fits into its surroundings beautifully. A warm welcome from the staff, gorgeous cakes and delicious coffee too. It is clear that it is popular with locals, but it wasn't crowded when we visited. We'll certainly make a point of visiting next time we're in Ludlow!

We were so impressed with the beautiful setting of Icon Coffee within St Laurence’s church. Delicious coffee and pastries, served under the lovely stained glass church windows and vaulted ceilings. Helpful and friendly staff, and plenty of room for a Pram for our baby who enjoyed a babycino hot milk too :) There is a great shop to browse inside the church too with perfect gifting items. I really recommend this coffee shop if you’re in Ludlow and we will certainly be back!

The coffee is excellent, the cakes are interesting and delicious, and you are inside the actual fabulous church, with a view straight up the nave. I could stare at the architecture for hours.

St Laurences church is full of hidden gems. I used to visit for the stain glass, carvings and peaceful atmosphere. Then they added an excellent shop, and now a gorgeous coffee shop. Just DELICIOUS coffee and cakes (local pastries from the market - yum!) served by a friendly Ukrainian girl living in Ludlow. I was told by one of the clergy helping behind the till (lovely idea) that all the cafe proceeds go to helping families struggling financially in Ludlow. Bravo the team at St Laurences. Churches cannot stay as quiet museums as they fall apart through lack of use. Delighted to see such a beautiful building being used as a community hub and helping those in need. I will definitely be back when in Ludlow.

If you’re looking for the best quality coffee in Ludlow, you’ll find it in St Laurence’s Church. So exciting to have a coffee establishment that really cares about setting the very highest standard, using local coffee and locally sourced pastries, cakes and snacks. And all served with kindness and thoughtfulness. My children love exploring the church and play area while we sit down for a break! Plus you can do all your present shopping in the remarkable, beautifully designed church shop across the aisle. Everyone needs to know about this place, it’s very special indeed.

Great small restaurant with an interesting lunch menu. The food is described fined for sharing and 2 or 3 plates are recommended. I had Danish frikkedellar, my husband had pork belly. Both beautifully presented small lunch portions. The coffee was good, the service unobtrusive and the views from the outside terrace are also good. Not fast food, but stunnngly good food. Also. A good stop for coffee and cake, or Fika.

Ambers Pizza Co was one of the top recommendations for places to eat in Oswestry by our B&B host Michael at Nant Gloyw. The pizza's were superb, reasonably priced and the service quick and friendly. As well as traditional toppings they also had some unusual, but delicious alternatives. I had a Moroccan lamb merguez pizza, which had tomato, mozzarella, spiced lamb mince, red onions, fresh coriander, yoghurt with mint and pomegranate seeds. As well as pizza they had a range of other dishes which looked tempting, including some delicious sounding desserts.

Met up with friends for lunch and was not disappointed. The cafe was clean, and comfortable with a lovely cosy atmosphere. Food was delicious, and loads of vegan/vegetarian choices. A feast for both mouth and eyes! Would highly recommend to anyone.
