A lovely gem of a small hotel 3 miles from Oswestry, set in beautiful countryside. Friendly and attentive service, alongside a varied and interesting daily menu with all dishes impeccably presented and prepared to a very high standard. Our rooms were modern and contemporary in style, tastefully decorated with a super shower and jacuzzi bath. Highly recommend especially for walkers with endless opportunities for walking along with lots of places of interest if you want a more sedate time. Highly recommended and we look forward to a repeat visit later in the year.

Had a Sunday lunch here whilst on holiday, 5 of us including 3 very hungry children and a dog. Phoned ahead and reserved a table. Food was excellent, service very good and helpful. Chef catered for veggie kids with a veggie sausage roast, and thoughtfully sent out extra veggie gravy for us. The roast potatoes were amazing. Puddings all round were great. Great stuff, would definitely visit again.

It’s a long story that we will never forget. In a nutshell, it was half term and we were travelling from the Gower Peninsula to the lakes to stay with friends. Our Volkswagen van broke down minutes away from the hotel, and we jokingly said as we drove up the drive, what a place to break down if we have to end up staying the night. Two nights later our van is in Oswestry fixed, and we areLeaving the hotel after a fabulous few days in the East Wing eating delicious food and really enjoying the grounds. the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly, accommodating our extended family, dog Willow and lots of bags. We cannot recommend you more highly and will definitely be back! Best wishes Nigel and Susannah, Jasper and Fin (and Willow)

This is a really wonderful pub. Located just a few miles from Oswestry it offers a very warm welcome, a lovely selection of home cooked food, ranging from steaks and fisha nd chips through to some interesting and unsual dishes. There are also some specials available which change daily. Three Tuns beer on tap too! A great find with a warm welcome and service, highly recommended.

visited here as my mother in law said the food was very good. Well the food was acceptable but that’s as far as it goes. 1. The staff are all dressed in scruffy washed out black sweat shirts , jeans and shirts or blouses that hadn’t been ironed or just didn’t fit. 2. One waitress decided that her chin needed to be protected more than the customers as we constantly watched her tuck it under her chin when talking to customers. 3. We were placed in the corridor without any windows and directly opposite the kitchen and toilet doors where the staff congregated and talked so loudly we couldn’t hear our own conversation. 4. The wine was served in cheap crappy pub glasses which you find at a boot fair. 5. There is attentive and bloody annoying. We were asked 9 times by different staff if our meal was ok ??? They clearly don’t work as a team and it’s a free for all because 3 different members of staff tried to take our dessert order ️ 6. We ordered Auction House Chardonnay and were served something else . When I questioned it I was told they had rebranded it ???? This could be such a nice place if they decorated it properly and not like it had just had a 60 minute make over. Smarten the staff up and train them on the content of the menu. Give each waiter/waitress their own tables so that the customers feel like you care and not just passing by the table and casually ask if everything is ok on their way to the kitchen. The whole experience felt rushed , from the moment we arrived to when we left the total time spent was 1 hour 15 mins , it felt more like a conveyor belt meal than a Saturday night out. Would we go back , absolutely NOT !! And my mother in law was going to take her friend for lunch on Wednesday, not now !! Go to Tripadvisor | Privacy Policy | Contact Us

Whilst I don’t like giving any place a one star review the meal we had as group of 12 was really poor. We’d pre-ordered but even then (a late addition of a steak and ale pie was phoned through the day before) one meal was completely omitted (the steak and ale pie!) and two pizzas (bizarrely served in boxes) were burnt but were replaced to be fair by apologetic staff. The one steak and ale pie that made it out was cold in the middle and sent back to be re-heated. Added to this one of our party had ordered the chicken goujon wrap but they were out of wraps! The rest of the food was generally enjoyed but by then the damage was done unfortunately. We were the only ones eating on a Friday evening. Suffice to say we won’t be rushing back. Staff were friendly and apologised for the food so credit to them. Pretty dreadful though.
