The best restaurants in Leomansley Lichfield West Midlands

Ego is a pleasure to visit. Staff are personable, friendly, welcoming and attentive, and every member ‘knows the menu’. Location is great, with a view of the cathedral’s spires as a backdrop. The place feels very light and airy, too, which is nice, and it’s always clean and fresh. The menu is, as described, pan-Mediterranean has a good choice and they are very aware of allergies and dietary needs. Ambience is relaxed, service attentive - a great balance. A couple of words of advice: parking can be a bit of a challenge. Lichfield is under-provided for in this regard, so although there’s parking adjacent to the restaurant, it can get very busy; some sat-navs show Ego at the wrong end of Bird Street, so it’s worth checking. Over the years of my visiting Ego, I’ve never once been anything other than delighted. Long may it continue.

Been this afternoon with some friends. Staff blatantly ignored us waiting to be served. Even someone else at the bar said we'd been waiting for ages and were being ignored. Never been made to feel so unwelcome by staff. Never again.

They squeezed us 4 in for the Saturday night at short notice, and were great to us. Service impeccable. I was particularly impressed with the allergies knowledge. The food was terrific too.

Fantastic little place. Great food and the pool in the bar is free on a Tuesday. Bar staff are second to none, especially Beth her smile is really greeting and she always goes the extra mile. The local customers are really welcoming too. Ive had many a good time in the Fountain. Great job guys and girls keep up the good work 10/10

Always waiting 15 to 25 minutes to pick up a delivery order. That's embarasing and unnaceptable. So lazy and unprofessional.

Lovely place, looks fantastic from outside. Lots of parking and mixed between pay and register (free parking if a patron). Bit dodgy trying to get out of the carpark back on to the road as people drive around the roundabout the pub is sat on, like F1 drivers! We arrived today. Friday, just after 2pm. The place wasn’t overly busy, nice atmosphere although the music was unnecessarily loud! Ordered food and drink at the bar. Our drinks arrived although it took 32 minutes for our food to arrive. Who knows how long it would have took on a very busy day! Fish and chips, mushy peas and T-sauce. Mushy peas were cold, the chips were overcooked and consisted of those little hard bits which have lost any potato content and crisped others! The fish was sat on top of the handful of these hard cool chips. The fish was lovely! I wish I had ordered that on its own! First time here for food. If this is the best the chef can do with this most basic of meals, then it’s unlikely we would spend more money on other menu offerings. Bit disappointed guys! I’ve been watching the evolution of this place and the refurb’ etc for months! Our excitement to come and see the place and share our lunchtime, fell well short of how nice the place looks!

Always warm welcome, good food drinks wether soft,coffee or an alcohol one are spot on.As I'm often on my own I've never felt unsafe .

The chicken wasn’t cooked and the wraps were burnt to a crisp and broke off. We sat in the restaurant area where there was a dogs sitting in there while eating and we wasn’t asked if it was okay. Don’t like eating round dogs squashes all into a small room and staff kept and pushing past in the chair while eating.

Ordered a king prawn curry fried rice and chips 14 pound I wouldn't feed this to a dog absolutely disgusting the curry was funky the prawns looked off the chips stank of dirty oil the fried rice was rotten threw it all in bin avoid this place like COVID one dirty curry and the sauce doesn't even look like curry sauce there's a few of these so called Chinese restaurants in Lichfield and they are disgusting it pisses me off u pay good money for dog shit to throw in bin and they know it there using rotten food if you want food poisoning do not order from this dog hole I can't describe the smell of food but it stank rotten and even if u ring them they talk shite on phone

Since the refurbishment, it has become worse. There was nothing wrong before. Only two conveyor checkouts now. See also, other reviews which I agree with

Didn't label the burgers, got the wrong ice cream (again) and missed a portion of chips. Couldn't contact them either. Avoid if you have allergies you'd be taking your life in hands; only use if you like the thrill of possibly getting what you ordered.
