Visited the Carpenters Arms in Westrip, Stroud for Sunday lunch. I have been before but this place just gets better and better! The Sunday lunch was amazing and that goes for everything down to the sweetest parsnips if ever had. Warm welcome and great service. Good range of local real ale and ciders. Simon

Fantastic village pub. No food but not a drama. Fantastic local boozer. Everything a pub should be and more. The locals and the staff are 10/10. Dog friendly, kid friendly all of which were well behaved. Would not hesitate to recommend and would be back in a heartbeat. Found this place by accident while visiting after a walk along the canal. Thanks for having us.

Very friendly, excellent food and service - multiple sandwiches regularly purchased & they're lovely everytime. The toasted panini's are lush and almost as good as the homemade cakes!! Pleased to return time and time again.

Friendly staff and a good atmosphere - just check the prices before ordering. I asked what non alcoholic drinks they do and I was offered a mojito mocktail. I ordered 2 and was charged £21.90 - when I was expecting it to be half that price for fruit juice and soda. When I went back to query the price charged, I was told this was correct as they use an alcohol free spirit. Prices should be clearly displayed, which currently they are not for either alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. I believe this is a legal requirement when serving alcohol inline with the weights and measures act.

Sadly it is not as good as it was , we went for breakfast my husband wanted big breakfast , they only do this at weekends .The server was lovely was very helpful and suggested it in a bap.He left the vegan sausage as it was tasteless.I had the bacon with maple syrup and a waffle , the bacon was scarce and the waffle over cooked. I don’t think we will be going back we used to love it when the previous tenants were there. It's no where near as busy as it used to be which is a bit of a indication as to its popularity .Reduce the rent and bring back the other owners please

I placed an online order for delivery. The vegetarian menu is very limited but I have been told that the mixed vegetable curry is good. The £15 minimum charge meant I had to order an extra dish and side to put in the fridge for the next day. The order was placed at 7:30 p.m. and the website gave a delivery time of 8:20 p.m. At 8:45 I rang up to find out what was happening to my order and was rather abruptly told it was on its way. I live about a third of a mile away but have mobility problems thus the need for a delivery. At 9:05 p.m. it had still not tuned up so I rang again and cancelled. At 9:15 pm after I had resulted to cooking my own now late diner, the driver turned up! Way the menu is priced to take advantage of the minimum delivery charge, the low staffing levels which resulted in an unacceptable delay and the sneaky way the driver was still sent after the order was cancelled all lead me to assume that this business cares more about profit than treating customers with respect. I shall not be using them again. I feel it only fair to add that the young woman who answered my second phone call was both courteous and professional. Her employers would do well to to take a leaf out of her book while they still have a business.
