Such a fab pub, always a warm welcome from Sammy and her staff, nothing is too much trouble, excellent food and atmosphere!!

What a lovely pub! Definitely a locals pub but with a big welcome for visitors. We were staying in the area for the weekend and went for Saturday night dinner. The people - staff and customers- could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The food was delicious real home style cooking, served in large portions and at a very reasonable price. The pub has a well kept cellar of good cask ales and local ciders. Thoroughly recommended if you are in the area.

Fantastic Pub great food and the bar staff especially Kitty were unbelivable The best customer service for along long time.Pity it was our last night.My daughter is a vegan and did not fancy her options Kitty said no problem let’s see if the chef can offer other options and Kitty came back with 3 options. Not many Restaurants would do that. The food for all of us was excellent and reasonably priced. Well Done to all the staff at The Carpenters—- beware there is another Carpenters near by at Missenden-a lot dearer. And KITTY the biggest thanks from all of us😀😃😀.

Sunday roast lunch. Very disappointing, we had roast beef which was very tough and overcooked. It came slathered in thick gravy which is poor - beef gravy should be thin and come in a separate jug.

We stayed in an Airbnb in Randwick and found this little gem about 10 mins away. We walked there both Wednesday eve for drinks and Thursday lunchtime. We can't even begin to describe how friendly this local pub is. You know those local pubs where you walk in and everyone looks as you aren't local.... NOPE not this one! I've never met a friendlier bunch! The landlady/owner sammy was the loveliest lady ever, so clear it's a family pub with her daughters dropping in who were also lovely, both days the pub had such friendly people visiting. We ate the second day and had the most wonderful chicken burgers with hash browns! We are so glad we found it, thank you so much Sammy, we will be back with our boys xx

Visited for my sister's birthday meal, Sunday roast was ridiculously tasty and lovely generous portions. Parsnips were some of the best I've ever had and the staff were so friendly and engaging, couldn't do enough for us. Amazing views of the valley too. Good local beer and nice Sunday roast but almost 90 minute wait before we saw some food! tables and seats very crowded together and fire lit at the last minute and never warmed the restaurant up. 3* is perhaps being kind. It is a very good pub but the dining experience wasn't up to that standard.

Myself and friends pre-booked and visited this pub which is located in Westrip in Stroud and has a stunning view over the valley. The pub is lovely inside and out and has all it's original features which is nice and something you don't see often these days. Sam the landlady and her staff were absolutely brilliant, very attentive and nothing was too much trouble even altering some meals to suit people's tastes. The food was lovely, and well cooked and presented nicely. I will definitely be going back again and highly recommend a visit to this lovely pub.

We were lucky enough to visit this pub while in the area. The lunch was lovely, and the view from the garden fabulous but what made it was all the staff were welcoming and friendly whilst being professional too.

We visited for evening food with the children, great atmosphere, great food and great friendly service. The outside space is fabulous with well spaced out tables, play area for the children and an outside bar. Also the best views around. Highly recommend and can’t wait to visit again soon.

We visited The Carpenters Arms following the Monday 12th April reopening of pub beer gardens. We were really impressed. The pub's situation is unrivalled, with commanding views over Stroud and its 'Five Valleys'. Service was quick, warm and friendly, too. Food was very reasonably priced. Would recommend!

My family have been isolating for over a week and Sammy kindly delivered us a lunch today - vegan spicy bean stew.The stew was absolutely delicious, a lovely warming smokey flavour and lots of pulses and different vegetables.Portions sizes were very generous and we all enjoyed it for a perfect lunch on a very cold day.

Just had our 2nd roast dinner delivered. Once again the food was excellent. Well cooked veg - plenty of it too, and delicious meat. We had one lamb and one pork. Recently come here for a Sunday lunch. The service was awful and they forgot are reservation so we had to sit in the bar. After this the food that come was way below par. Cauliflower cheese was stone cold as well as the latte we ordered!! Wouldn’t visit again.

Honestamente no esperaba mucho de los carpinteros. Es local de mi madre, pero mi pareja y yo nunca hemos estado allí con ella antes, siempre he pensado que "vamos a llevarla a un lugar agradable" y resulta que desperdiciamos nuestro dinero en otros pubs caros en Stroud y sus alrededores. Resulta que los Carpinteros están "en algún lugar agradable" después de todo. Todos tuvimos el almuerzo de domingo de dos cursos para 10. 95 por cabeza. La carne asada, pudín de yorkshire y patatas asadas fueron excelentes. Mis compañeros aseguraron que el pavo asado también era particularmente delicioso. We’re incredibly lucky to have such a great local pub on our doorstep. It’s excellent value with 2 courses for under a tenner and honest home cooked food. I’d strongly recommend the pie and chips, the curry or the chilli! Often cheaper than eating out with a great loyalty scheme too! Lovely views over the stroud valley and easy access to the Cotswold way and Randwick woods for walking.

Visited here on a Wednesday evening with my partner. We took advantage of the two courses for £9.95 offer. I had Hunters Chicken and my partner had Lasagne. We then both had Banoffee Pie which was delicious. Really good value for money, we were both stuffed! Service was attentive and very quick. We were surprised it wasn’t busier!

Firstly good parking and amazing panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. We went for a Sunday roast and were welcomed by a most pleasant and efficient host who took our order for drinks and a choice of meat. The wine was good and the main course arrived quickly with delicious turkey, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables. The Bakewell tart and banoffee pudding were homemade and equally delicious. The dining area was pleasant and well furbished. Two courses for £10.95 and excellent value. We will be returning!

Steak meals, touch & go...... They are either served sizzled on a grill with grill markings or served as they have come broiled from the oven like roast beef. Not good & not offered to be replaced when politely saying so!! Will definitely not be ordering again.

The Carpenters arms is a real local favourite for me & my family, being within walking distance and excellent value it's hard to motivate myself to cook. Proper pub food at amazing value, they do 2 courses for about £10 on a week night and steak & a drink for £11 on a Saturday! I don't think I could cook for that! The puddings are amazing, i would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

A menudo caminando hasta el Carpeters en primavera o verano, los domingos y sentarse afuera con el perro. Hay unas vistas preciosas y la comida es buena y a un precio razonable.

Many a visit to the carpenters arms and this was 5 stars as usual. The best pub around the area for home cooked pub food and value for value. Steve and his staff are always friendly and service is brilliant. No pub also has a view like the carpenters too!

My 1st visit here, Amazingly friendly staff who couldn't do enough for us and seemed genuinely happy to see us and the dog and we're on hand with a bowl of water and dog treats! (For the 4 legged companion)Great food and very reasonable prices!We will 100% be returning very soon 10 out of 10 in every aspect
