Last time visited “ small Americana “ was 1.95. Then 2.10. Today……2.60. No reason despite costs…..to elevate to this price… There are unfortunately not a lot of “ good coffee shops in Dursley” could do with “Costa” or Coffee1 “ Wake up call……for these stupid prices…..if you want to “ stay open” I’d review all your prices/ ….or you soon will be “ gone” No one wants to fell “ conned” last visit for me!!

Had a take out today ,curry goat rice and peas and jerk chicken rice and peas. Both were excellent and I highly recommend both dishes , the goat was tender and very tasty obviously made to a good recipe. Good food thank you ! Staff in restaurant also very attentive and happy , will use again !

Visited Dursley for a shopping trip today Friday 13th May 22. Come lunch time went to The Hummingbird for a meal. Once again the food was very good and tasty. Portions are just right and nicely served. Staff very friendly and welcoming. nice clean premises.

My go to cafe in Dursley for Breakfast or lunch . Always a friendly welcome from the staff. Good selection of cakes including Gluten Free cakes and food. The Gluten Free Chocolate Brownies are very scrummy. Coffee is good and reasonably priced and my son especially likes the Hot Chocolate. Outside Covid friendly seating is available with blankets .

Good food comes quickly. Tasty and plenty of it for hungry appetites well presented with great coffee.

Really sweet, quirky cafe with bags of soul. Friendly service. (Table service). Lovely coffee and delicious cake (aero brownie). Would definitely return.

I needed somewhere to wait while I was filing in time in Dursley and ended up having breakfast here. There is something special about the atmosphere and the breakfast was perfect. I was made to feel really welcome and the staff were amazing. I would travel from Cheltenham to visit again!

Popped in for afternoon tea and cake. Friendly welcoming staff. Had a lovely fresh warm scone and a delicious tea cake at reasonable prices. The sandwiches being served also looked very tempting. Worth dropping in again if in the area.

We took a detour to Dursley on our way home from holiday and found this delightful cafe for lunch! Husband says it is the best cooked breakfast he's ever had (he's had more than his fair share),whilst I went for a Montenegro curry - it was delicious! They serve a range of sandwiches,wraps,breakfasts and also had a few curries on the menu - all the food looked good and we really enjoyed ours! Really lovely place,staff were very friendly!

Had breakfast here, lovely. Also coffee and cake on another occasion (with one of Megan's homemade cakes. You need to try these :)

We had a lovely breakfast there this week everything is planned out to comply with social distancing , the staff were very nice and welcoming and the food was absoloutly delicious , plan to go back every week :)

We came here following good reviews on Trip Advisor, however on this occasion I’d not bother visiting. This cafe has monopolised on Eat out to help out, with 10 tables outside, but they cannot fulfil the order. We waited nearly 2 hours for breakfast with no apology. Clearly, they can’t cope with the demand and shouldn’t add tables. A polite waitress apologised when asked and offered free drinks and a refund. We accepted the drinks and these were brought over with the comment ‘for some reason, we are giving you free drinks because your food is delayed.’, When asking for a refund, we were told by the owner, we can’t talk here other customers will hear. Not acknowledging that an hour and a half for egg on toast isn’t an acceptable timeframe. Bother coming here...

A very nice cooked breakfast/lunch was just what my lads and I needed during a day while they helped me working in my house and we had been too busy to prepare our own lunch. The food was nice and the staff were friendly.

Alquilamos el Hummingbird Cafe para hacer el catering para el cumpleaños 80 de mi mamá sorpresa en un centro comunitario local y qué servicio excepcional nos brindaron. La comida era increíble, definitivamente 1 calle clase 5 estrellas una gran selección de sándwiches, pasteles y bollos. Recibimos muchos comentarios de los huéspedes sobre lo buena que era la comida y Suzi fue más allá de sus deberes de servicio de catering contratado, una persona muy amable, servicial y amable. Gracias Suzi por todo lo que hiciste por nosotros, fue muy apreciado y definitivamente estaré de visita en mi próximo viaje a casa.

A small selection of family recipe Caribbean dishes are available.We loved the curried goat with rice and peas. I was a bit wary of eating goat, but it is a delicate flavour like a cross between lamb and beef, not at all goaty like the cheese!The goat was so tender and the spices were perfect, not too hot, different compared to an Indian or Chinese curry.Will be going back for the Montego chicken and patties soon.

Felt uncomfortable from the moment I went into this place because of the smell...I don't know why I didn't leave right there. Hopefully this smell was due to the dishevelled customer sitting at the front obviously looking for people to talk to.If so, he needs to be discouraged from sitting right by the till as other customers will be put off..The cafe is dark and narrow with shoes on sale, it didn't add glamour to the place as may have been the intention it just made me think, "have these been worn?,why are they so near to my table", there were also children's clothes on sale I think. I find this sort of establishment confusing as the customer feels wrong-footed from the moment they get through the door, Cheltenham has a few of these.Had a coffee which wasn't great, would have had more but didn't see a menu until I was sitting down. Someone should tell the staff that standing in the middle of the restaurant having a long gossip isn't a good idea. I wouldn't go back here and am glad that others have had a better experience of this eaterie.

I visit this cafe after swimming. The scones are delicious and the staff are very friendly and welcoming which is great for me because I am always on my own. Although it is small it is very cosy and has recently been tastefully refurbished.

Had the best fry up ive ever had in a long time! Very friendly staff and even thou I changed my mind twice,was very patient and made me feel important! My breakfast was perfect. Eggs the way I like,bacon really crispy,beans and toast also was perfect! Would fully recommend to anyone! Thanks ladies!!

Yo y mi amigo fuimos a desayunar esta mañana. Pedí un gran desayuno y mi amigo pidió un desayuno adelgazante. Pedí tocino crujiente más como quemado. A mi desayuno también les faltaban dos salchichas cuando lo llevaron a la mesa que dice en el menú que Son salchichas de cerdo, no de cerdo y de manzana. No me ofrecieron la opción de qué jugo me gustaría con mi desayuno y mi amigo que tenía el desayuno adelgazante faltaba un huevo, el tomate no estaba bien cocinado y la tostada estaba fría.

Visited here whilst on a trip in the area. I had breakfast at this cafe and was surprised at how good the menu was. They even offer a slimming world breakfast which I thought was amazing. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend. I will be returning when I am next in the area.

Enjoyed a coffee and scone in the sunshine watching the world go by. Scones were beautiful and slightly warm. A lovely way to catch up with a friend.

We stopped in for coffee and cake and received a friendly welcome. The decor is cosy and the cake selection looked delicious. We shared a fresh scone, just out of the oven and Victoria sponge. This was a nice place to stop for coffee and a chat.

I normally go to the hummingbird with my fiance for breakfast, but tonight we went there for their monthly Caribbean themed evening.

Walked in this morning and enjoyed a delicious full english breakfast. They also offer a slimming world breakfast for all people looking to loose a little weight. Prices are resonable and atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely be coming back

Waited nearly half an hour for 2 milkshakes, which, when they did finally come, were terrible. People were nice, but wouldn't advise coming here; food or drink can be bought to a higher quality with better service elsewhere

Great café serving interesting food at very reasonable prices. I tried the Caribbean Goats Meat Curry and very, very good it was too. Next time we are in Dursley we will definitely return.

I have been to this cafe a few times now, it's clean, and the service is friendly and attentive. I have knocked off one point because the last time I was there, I was overcharged by 50p. Not much I agree, but still 10℅ of my spend. No tip left this time!

We stopped here for cream tea and chose this shop over the others in town because it was considerably quieter and more relaxing. The tea was fine. Scones were ordinary and uneventful – not different from those sold in the nearby supermarket.

Visiting the dentist in Dursley for my annual checkup, wanted somewhere decent for a quick breakfast (after visiting the Courtyard Cafe last time which was truly dreadful) so based on TA reports tried the Hummingbird. Staff seemed friendly enough - ordered Eggs Benedict and Cappuccino - £7.50. Coffee was fine, Eggs Benedict was poor, small soggy muffin that might have been waved at a toaster, a couple of scraps of ham topped with poached eggs (OK) and then a hollandaise sauce that tasted solely of vinegar, I suspect that it had never seen butter or egg yolks. The presentation was finished off with half a semi ripe plum tomato that they hadn't even bothered to remove the core from. Missing a train in Stroud the other week with an hour to kill led me to have the same breakfast in the Lord John Wetherspoons, even being under a fiver (including coffee) it was still streets ahead of this.

Visited on Christmas Eve for brunch. I had Eggs Benedict with pot of tea, husband had full English with Americano coffee. You order food at the till and served to your table. Drinks were served fairly quickly but food order was very slow (cafe was not heaving!). The full English breakfast was very generous, sausages were god quality and bacon nce and thick. My Eggs Benedict were tasty although the Hollandaise sauce was a little too vinegary for my liking. Would recommend this little caff even tho service was slow it was very friendly. They welcome walkers & shoppers alike

this cafe offers a restaurant meal in the evening if there are enough bookings , we chose a set menu of small dishes of carribean food it was lovely to try new dishes. in the day it is a good cafe with nice cakes and reduced fat options for those slimming, they have a tasty breakfast that uses slimming world sausages such a great idea. chicken and bacon salad is lovely.

While recently on a trip to Dursley, I came across this lovely little cafe, great value and really tasty food and great coffee. There was free wifi and the staff were very helpful and nice. Tom from Ireland

Brilliant service and an amazing atmosphere with great music in the background. Great variety of foods and drinks...I had an Espresso with lush biscuits.

We found the coffee to be excellent, many others were clearly enjoying their breakfasts, our only disappointment is that the unisex toilet and corridor leading to it, is ready for a refurbishment.

Came across this place after an afternoon walk and found it to be a lovely place to relax and have some well earnt nourishment. We found the staff both friendly and attentive and the service quick. Toasted sandwiches delicious and recommended. Will be back again when we next visit the area.

On the 2nd of March me and so of my friends were looking for a place to have a coffee. As we had just come from the Library, we headed towards what seemed to be a nice looking little cafe. It wasn't exactly what I expected. The drinks were alright, except very cold and you had to drink it quite quickly which was a shame. Also very squishy even without other people there. I would have preferred the staff to be kinder as I got corrected a few times by one young lady. I could overall say that i wouldn't go back, but I maybe would ask for improvements! I do hope they read this and find some way that is possible to make it better, sorry!

A lovely little cafe. We had a very nice breakfast which was very reasonably priced and the service was great. The only thing that let it down was that they stated on the menu that they served ice-cream milkshakes and when ordered it was actually just nesquik! A real shame. but a lovely breakfast and descent coffee all the same.

Was recommend a breakfast here so we had to try it. Must admit we were very disappointed. We waited about 45mins even though it wasn't that busy. We had the £4.95 choose an 5 items. It was exactly 1 of each item. Food was luke warm an not really enough to see us through till lunch. Shame really!

We had a full English. It was fine but nothing special. I didn't feel that the whole experience lived up to the excellent TA reviews. It was my first time here and on balance would probably visit Bank instead next time but rate this above all others in Cam and Dursley.

If in Dursley you could not find better fresh cooked food and friendly service at extremley reasonable prices. We had choose your own cooked breakfasts, beautifully cooked, excellently sourced ingredients. My husband drooled over smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. Loved the atmosphere and decor of the cafe. We dined at the Caribbean evening and the food was the best I've tasted, the vegetable rundown and montego chicken was out of this world.My husband absolutely loved the curried goat!It was in a very convenient location, the atmosphere in the restaurant was calm, the lighting romantic and the service was second to none.The food and courses were prompt but not too fast and Michelle was a very good front of house person and Suzi's authentic Caribbean cooking was amazing.Most of the food on the menu was gluten free and all dietary requirements can be catered for, it was lovely to be able to have a choice.It was definitely well worth the money and is an asset to the community.

I met a friend here for a coffee after school with the kids after school a few days ago. Lovely, friendly, smiley and chatty lady served us! Although we didn't eat anything, inside looked spotless, lovely decor and would love to come back for something to eat! It's a lovely spot to sit outside at the little bistro tables, I'm glad they have moved to the middle of Parsonage Street!

Right in the heart of the village, this great restaurant. They do great value breakfasts, the best for me for miles around. Everything here is cooked fresh to order, and they take great pride in their work. The team are really friendly and have great local knowledge. The icing on the cake, apart from the cake itself is the coffee. really excellent.

I have visited this cafe many times and always find the staff friendly and attentive. Even when they are really busy they try and find the time to make you feel welcome. The food and drinks are always excellent, varied and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this place.

Came after good serving time and they still kindly put together some veggie wraps for us which were ok. Tea was lovely and they have soy milk. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Went again for lunch, was happy with the price and quality. Had a cheese and ham toasted sandwich and it was lovely. It was also huge!! Loads of filling and came with salad and crisps. Will be returning again :)

Been countless times over the past few months. Always a great chat with the staff and lovely food. Love the Caribbean theme of foods although not tried much but intend to as soon as I can! Looking forward to my next visit! :-)

I recently visited with friends, an pleasant evening was had. Although I'm not sure that £22.95 is reasonable for what we ate. Assuming that you price the starter and main at £5 each (and even that's probably generous) that would leave the main course buffet at £12.95. The other tables in the restaurant had got to the buffet before us and there wasn't a lot left for our table, mainly bones in the goat curry and sadly no fish. We asked a waitress if there was a chance to get some more fish and some was brought to the buffet some 15 minutes later and not enough for all of us to have.

Amazing food! Been a few times for coffee and breakfast and always at a high standard. People who moan that it takes time when busy are clearly not after quality! Lovely waitressing staff who made us feel warm and welcoming every time. Carrabian evening was amazing! Brilliant choice of foods. And the attention to detail when taking into consideration about diatry needs is amazing. Polish night was also brilliant! Amazing atmosphere and such a laugh!All in all a lovely cafe. Will definitely go again and again! :-)

We visited the hummingbird on a Friday evening for their Caribbean evening. This was our second visit but the first to their new location in the high street. The menu was diverse and very delicious - I could not resist seconds of the jerk chicken!! My partner loved the sea food pasta and we all loved the goat curry. Tender goat in a delicious mix of spices in a rich spicy sauce. Service was relaxed but attentive with the staff coming around at the end if the evening to seek feedback on the meal. It was clear that they were genuinely interested in what we thought of the food. Food and drinks prices were very reasonable .Overall a great evening with delicious food close to home. We will return to sample their Thai night

Just what the place needed. It has been given an amazing makeover and now feels very welcoming from outside and cosy once inside. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect from a local cafe, with relaxing music and friendly staff. A great addition to the town!

Today was not the first time I have ventured into these premises for a meal and on the previous occasions I have made comments about the food.I am happy to say all of my comments have been taken on board and can verify the following...I asked for a full English with coffee and was served with a very warm welcome by Mandy who made every effort to make I felt welcome.The coffee was served to my table within 3 minutes piping hot.The breakfast followed 6 minutes later and everything was cooked properly exactly as I asked and very hot through out.The fact that the staff asked if there was any thing else I needed and made sure that before I had eaten halfway if everything was OK and to my satisfaction shows proof that they take great care and pride in their work and customer satisfaction.Very impressive staff ,great food,and such a warm welcome means I will definately be goiing back again and again.Thank you very much especially for listening.

I've eaten in many places before, but this has to be one of the best of it's type. The first impression is great with pretty tables outside and lovely decoration inside, the food was fantastic (especially the scrummy cakes), and the staff make you feel as if your experience there really matters to them. Will definitely be back for more.

I decided to try out this new cafe/restaurant on a Saturday lunchtime before booking for one of their advertised special Caribbean evenings. My teenagers are of mixed origin and we thought Caribbean in Dursley would be too much to miss for my sons birthday.However we were really disappointed and are now going elsewhere for his birthday.On the Saturday we visited the cafe was over staffed with what seemed to be a cook, a pot washer, a waitress and the owner. I've visited a pub restaurant tonight with five times as many customers and only three staff doing everything and their customer service far exceeded this. Despite the staffing levels tables were covered with dirty crockery and the waitress failed to clear and clean our table even when she brought our food over! The owner, herself, left to do some local food shopping whilst we were there and also walked past tables laden with dirty pots! We did see the male pot washer once but he cleared one table and disappeared.The food itself was slap dash, we ordered two breakfasts, the bacon was under cooked and the vegetarian sausages were still frozen in the middle. I did complain about this and they were re cooked with an apology from the cook, who said she didn't know how it had happened. Being trained in food hygiene myself I have to ask " where was your food probe?" The whole ambiance was amateur. I wish I could be more complimentary as the owner seemed a really nice friendly lady and the place was nicely decorated but to succeed she needs to seriously address her staffing in terms of quantity and quality.

Most of the time I go in the Hummingbird and order a B.O.B ( build your own breakfast.) I order mushrooms, hash browns and bacon. It comes out beautiful and tasty! Love it. It's a warm welcome as I walk through the door. come here all the time, mostly holidays and weekends.

We visited The Hummingbird for the first time since their relocation to the centre of town for lunch. Friendly and efficient staff, quick service. The children had paninis which they finished and thoroughly enjoyed. I had a nice brunch of sausage (good quality not the sawdust type) egg, bacon, tomato and mushroom which for £4.50 inc coffee, toast and juice is a bargain. Looking forward to trying out the menu in the evening as I've heard great reviews.

This cafe is ok for snacks, the menu is very limited and their time-keeping erractic.Have been told on a few occasions that the kitchen closed at 2.30 as the cook had to pick up her child. Is this a business or playing at it?

Turned up today we my mum at 12.30 for tea and cake all open chairs out but was completely empty. Walk up to the til and was told to leave as they're serving Mother's Day tea at 2.... What?!

Popped in late on a Saturday not long before due to close - so tea and cake only but it did the job! Lady explained it was their first week following their relocation and they had been very busy

A very big thank you to Suzi, Michelle and Ben for making my 50th celebration such a fantastic night to remember. The Caribbean feast was out of this world. Providing it in a "Buffett" form allowed people to try all the different dishes. Caribbean cuisine was new to me, but I really enjoyed it. It was full of flavour and superbly presented. The staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. This is just what Dursley needs. Highly recommend.

This was my second visit to the Hummingbird. This time we went as a group and Suzi and the staff made us very welcome. They prepared the food to make it suitable for those who preferred it spicy and those who preferred it mild. They were very helpful in catering for the Gluten free member of our party. Although I love Indian food and Pizzas it is great to try a different Cuisine, such as the Carribean food offered at the Hummingbird, now and then.Can't wait to try them out at their new premises opposite Durcan's in the old Dursley Diner.

The Humming Bird in its current location serves Caribbean two nights per week as well as being a daytime café with some Caribbean and traditional elements.Although Caribbean food may not be on many peoples list of favourite cuisines and certainly not mine,I am, however, always happy to have a new experience. The Buffet style mains allows you to try, taste and focus on particular dishes; I found the Goat Curry and macaroni Cheese very nice.The restaurant in its current form is very cozy 14 seater and the staff are very obliging. I know that very shortly they are to transfer the restaurant element to Dursleys High Street whilst maintaining an "Arts & Craft" style café at its current location. I think that the new venue is larger than the old one which will allow them to expand the range of Caribbean dishes on the buffet (some coconut based ones, perhaps?) and, as hinted by the waitress/manager at our visit include other cuisines such as Thai etc.Obviously with the expansion in to Dursleys main street, this will help to add to the vibrancy of Dursleys expanding evening dinning offer

My husband and I called in on a Saturday afternoon expecting the usual boring cafe fayre, but were very pleasantly surprised. The menu was varied and good value. When it arrived it was extremely tasty and well made. Overall our experience was very positive and we will return to try the restaurant experience. Great service, friendly atmosphere and lovely food.

Found the Hummingbird by accident as it is set back a bit on Silver Street. Food was brilliant, with the buffet mains meaning that you can try everything and go back for more! The service was very good and the whole place had a very friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend to others. The café is open during the day and the restaurant is open Friday and Saturday nights.

The hummingbird Restaurant is a cosy little restaurant in the heart of Dursley, the food is fantastic. original Caribbean food, no imitations here!The owner Suzi is a perfect host and nothing is too much trouble for her and her staff, just what the town needs.

Visited last night - food was lovely - choice of starters (my husband and I shared so we could try 2 choices!) and buffet style mains meant all options could be tried (and seconds if required) Really lovely evening, excellent value, service great - will definately be back - nice to have a different restaurant to visit in Dursley.One last thing.....try the rum punch - £10.00 for a jug and it was very good :)
