I'm sorry to say, that after reading great reviews and having high expectations of what to expect....the experience was a huge disappointment. 6 of us booked in for Sunday dinner at 2pm,which started well,to be honest....as we were given a choice of the main room or a table set up for 6,in a separate room. We opted for the separate room and took our seats accordingly. After awhile a man came through to take our drinks order and I went 1st....."a o% Guinness please" sorry we don't have that "but I do at my other pub" OK then "could I have an elderflower please" ...."sorry we don't have that" again was the reply OK...."could I have a lime & soda please"....."sorry can't do that due to the trigger on the mixer not working" was the reply. OK...."could I have a lager shandy please"....."sorry can't do that either came the now familiar reply! By this time,it was getting embarrassing in front of the other's waiting to order their drinks and exacerbated,on the point of dehydration....I ordered a tap water.....which along with a gin & flat tonic didn't have ice in. Then.....dinner arrived. I had ordered the 3 meat roast, pork, beef & chicken (£23.50) and my expectations were high....well sadly it wasn't to be. The 3 meat roast consisted of a slice of pork,a slice of beef and a chicken leg plonked on the top...how bizarre! The meal itself was only warm and not piping hot as I would have expected.....after the drinks fiasco,I didn't feel able to complain without drawing attention myself in front of the other members of our party at the table. Finally....the bill came and as well as charging us for £2 for a lime & soda which I couldn't have, an £18 plus service charge had been added to the bill. That was the final insult.....£18 service charge for what exactly?? No drinks of choice and a luke warm meal. I wanted to dispute the service charge but again....I didn't want to draw attention to myself and possibly put my other party members in an embarrassing situation. I would like it refunded to be honest, as another issue I encountered while there....no soap in the soap dispenser despite visiting the toilet at the start of our meal and then again an hour or so later after the meal. I'm sorry, but I wouldn't eat there again or recommend to others to do so either......maybe it was "just a bad day at the office" for the pub on the day of our visit, but then the service shouldn't have been added automatically,if all of the above had been taken in to consideration.

We got lost and found this beautiful cotsword stone pub!. We all huddled though the front to a crowd of people eating and drinking. We had been greeted by a happy chap who said bear with me so we waited short few minutes while chatting to the local folk then seated and took our drinks order and food. The pub was busy with great atmosphere being led by the barmen having good chat with everyone in the pub we did ask him you on your owen he smiled said yes and jokingly said ill lose stone tonight! My Husband replied your keep you fit. We had 2 beautiful homemade pies and our other 2 guests had Moules & Beef Burger the wood was delicious you could tell its was fresh food tasty bread as well. A Local told us the barmen is Ben he's one of the owners so we had with Ben and I can say what a host and great chef this pub has Just wow 👌 amazing experience to night thank Butcher Arms we will be Back soon.

Freshly cooked. Something few pubs offer nowadays, not least because we have become conditioned to ‘fast food’. We may be biased as this is our local, and we know you have to make Oakridge Lynch a specific destination, but it is definitely worth it. A great menu, with specials and traditional pub favourites, but with that freshly prepared twist. They have now taken over The Kilkenny @ Andoversford so expect the same friendly service and quality food.

Sadly not worth the hype. Had a very insipid beef wellington; undercooked pastry/no duxelle of anything, and overcooked steak. If I were the chef I would have been questioning the amount left on the plates.

We are a group of up to eleven friends who meet monthly for Sunday lunch. We so enjoyed our lunch here in May that we decided to return, especially as not everyone could attend last month. As before, our roasts were delicious, beautifully presented, very generously portioned and with a wonderful selection of vegetables. All but one of us found the desserts impossible to ignore and I was delighted when my crème brûlée arrived still aflame ! All staff were attentive, smiley and very helpful and Ben, the landlord, was a delight. Thankyou - we will definitely be back !

Oh wow. I should have taken a photo but didn’t think to. We have just had the best Sunday lunch at this place. Large portions, wonderfully tasty and very friendly staff. I booked during the week via Facebook and will definitely be returning and recommending it to anyone who asks. I chose the beef which was particularly tender. My husband is not a roast fan and chose their special- macaroni cheese with chorizo. All 5 of us who are there enjoyed our meal immensely.

We arrived at 1.20 (five minutes late) and our food arrived at 2.45!!! We were one of two tables with diners! The waitress seemed brusque and astonished to be asked for anything at all…including ketchup… so we didn’t ask for salt or pepper because she appeared to be so harassed. The pub was SO cold that we all had to put our jackets on despite a wood burning stove at one end. My feet were like blocks of ice and the loos were freezing too (men and women’s), they both had radiators but these weren’t on. There was no soap in either of the soap dispensers. The food was okayish but certainly not anything we’d return for….. Disappointing after reading some good reviews.

We attended for lunch. My 3 friends shared a large artisan platter while I had the pate. The pate was lovely - but with only 3 little pieces of bread there was far too much of it. All of us had roast Sunday lunch which was well-made and tasty but far too large. Their clue should have been that so much was piled on the plate that the gravy was spilling over the edge. In terms of value - phenomenal. In terms of being able to finish it - we all failed. Other people were clearly succeeding better than we did, but I can only assume that they had starved themselves for the day before. The service was friendly but managed to bring the wrong drinks order and then the wrong food order to our table.

This pub has recently changed hands and the new guys running are lovely. I have been with my mum and our friend and we had a lovely meal then went back with family which included taking my 2 girls aged 4 and 9. They both ate from the children's menu which was ample portions and had a pudding included in the price which is lovely. A lovely experience overall. My one criticism with is was the fish and chips wasn't the nicest that I've had. The batter could if been crisper but over all very nice. Will definitely be back x

Came for a bite to eat one morning, asked for a coffee as I could see other customers were having hot drinks, and the barman claimed they didn't serve them. Ordered a cold drink and a pizza, and the waitress then rudely tried to make us order something else. When the pizza arrived, she was extremely rude and slammed it on the table and was also rude to the people I was eating with. I would avoid.

Unfortunately my elderly wife and daughter suffered a puncture outside the Butcher Arms at Oakridge today. They asked the Landlord if they could buy a tea or coffee whilst they waited for the RAC. Astonishingly he refused with the reply “ “We are too busy””. My wife and daughter retired to the pub garden and waited an hour and a half for the RAC. In the meantime they noticed the landlord regularly came to the garden to check on the customers - but he didn’t have time to make a coffee or a tea for my elderly wife or daughter. UNBELIEVABLE and totally UNACCEPTABLE

We visited the Cotswolds in March 22’ and I’ve been meaning to add a review as this is one of the best pubs we’ve been to. The service and the food are perfect and everything you could want from a meal out. The owners are excellent pub landlords- the kind that can see when there isn’t enough gravy on your food and rather than leave it say ‘do you want some more on that I’ll go sort it’. They are those kind of people! They also sat us by the fire as thought that as it was a special night for us we might prefer that. Sadly we don’t live near enough to visit again but we couldn’t recommend this more.

Outstanding and delicious food served with pride and a smile; great fun. A must visit.

All down to the owners, this is truly a gem of a country pub. Booked on our weekend away from London and were not disappointed! Both myself and my partner spent a lovely afternoon relaxing in the pub garden before booking dinner on a whim - we were just that relaxed! Starters were a delight - a very tasty ham hock and crispy whitebait. Both mains were lovely - we had the salmon and the Butchers Burger. Both cooked very well - definitely great value for money. Thanks again to the welcoming owners for a lovely time.

We live locally and thought we would try the pub as we hadn’t been in a while. We would thoroughly recommend. The food was fantastic and what made it even better was the exceptional service. So friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

We turned up in error having booked a different Butchers Arms but they couldn’t have been more accommodating to us, finding a table for us to eat. The food was fantastic and the wine also. What really topped the experience off however was when we mentioned we were walking back to our hotel they insisted on driving us. Would highly recommend to one and all.

We stayed in the newly refurbished cottage for a 3 night break. The cottage is on the side of the pub & was very clean & tastefully decorated. The landlord & landlady couldn't have been more friendly & helpful. We ate in the pub a few times & the meals were superb. A lovely place for a short break in beautiful countryside.

Stayed nearby for a week over Cheltenham and found this to be the most welcoming, friendly pub I could have hoped for. I ate here one evening too and the food was lovely. Recommend visiting Greg and Bev if you get a chance.

Esperamos volver pronto! : -) The Hamilton’s (I - Lan & Jim) x

Warm and friendly historic pub with excellent landlord and landlady.Open fires, great beer and the food is just very very good. Lunchtime meal of (huge) salmon fillet and my companion had a breaded whole plaice both with exactly the right touch for vegetables. Glass of Rose and a pint of Otter washed it all down superbly.Attentive service and drinks brought to the table. What more could you ask.If you are looking for a genuine Cotswold village pub of character, then look no further....You will have found it !

Stayed at the Frocester George and ate in the dining room whilst walking the Cotswolds way. My room was lovely- room 12, relatively recently done I think with everything you could want. Spacious room, organic tea and coffee, small fridge with fresh milk in it (yay!!!!) lovely bathroom. The meal was delicious, and the breakfast great, including a wonderful selection of fresh fruit. Would happily return for another stay if I am in the area.

Last time visited “ small Americana “ was 1.95. Then 2.10. Today……2.60. No reason despite costs…..to elevate to this price… There are unfortunately not a lot of “ good coffee shops in Dursley” could do with “Costa” or Coffee1 “ Wake up call……for these stupid prices…..if you want to “ stay open” I’d review all your prices/ ….or you soon will be “ gone” No one wants to fell “ conned” last visit for me!!
