Pure delight. Immaculate vibe, craft cider, banging Sunday roast, quite possibly the best cauli cheese I’ve had and I’m not saying this lightly. And just look at this perfect table! With all that said, an even bigger highlight for us was the staff—fantastic people and service. No faults. It’s in the middle of a scenic circular walk, make your way there ❤️

It was a late evening visit, so didn't eat, but the pub has that lovely old worldly charm that has disappeared from most village pubs. Lovely friendly atmosphere, a bit like being welcomed into someone's house.

Just had Sunday lunch at the Carpenters Arms and can’t rate it highly enough. My wife had the pork and I had the beef, both were excellent! The staff couldn’t have been any more helpful or obliging. The views are spectacular looking out over Stroud and the surrounding valley’s. Well worth a visit!

One of my besties and our 2 daughters enjoyed a leisurely Saturday cooked breakfast 2 weeks ago, having seen recommendations on FB. We were first through the door as soon as it opened and there were others waiting in their cars too, a good sign. We were given a friendly warm welcome by the staff young lady, which is always nice first thing in the morning. My friend and her daughter hadn't been before, despite them being lifelong Stroud residents so it was fun to show them this 'new' dining treat and the views. My daughter and I have had delicious lunches here in the past, and as I couldn't eat it all the staff kindly wrapped it up for me to takeaway.

We popped in here for a drink and a quick rest during a very long walk yesterday. We are so glad we stopped by as this is an absolute gem of a place. It's super cosy and welcoming - the staff are so genuine. There's also Boris the dog who will greet you and loves some fuss! Really enjoyed the homemade lemon drizzle cake they had in. Drinks are a little pricey but with the variety of local brewery businesses they stock, I'd say it's worth it. They also have some board games. My only regret is not stopping for a meal! We'll definitely be back next time.

The staff were friendly, fun and so helpful throughout the booking process and the meal itself. The food was varied and delicious and they coped with all our foibles so well, ( I don't know how the chef does it, it's a real skill). The house beer is excellent, and the view is wonderful. And there's so many nice walks in the area. I can't thank you all enough. It really was perfect. Bill.

No choice of food for kids on a Sunday, have a slide but the pub itself is not child friendly. My 2 year old ended up with a baguette because they had no sausages or chicken nuggets or anything that a child can eat. Only Sunday roast avaliable on Sunday with rare beef. Not everybody likes rare, or pork. The veg was nice, Yorkshire was over cooked, only some of us had crackling, there was more choice of desserts than food which was nice only 2 tables in the room so everyone can hear each others conversation. It's not how I rember it before I'm sure the room was bigger and more menu choice. But its definitely not child friendly

Perched on the side of one of the valleys surrounding Stroud, this inn is in a fairly good location. Long steeply sloping garden out back with some tables but not too many. Bit noisy from air conditioning alongside pub. Nice outlook towards Stroud and Ebley, but partly spoiled by rooftops of houses in the very close by estate. Only 1 real ale on tap at time of visit - Budding ale from Stroud brewery. Not as special as some I've tasted, but at least no top gas to spoil it. Cake slices we bought were a bit dry. The bar is cosy with old beams. Separate rooms where you can eat inside and still see the views.

Went to Henry's for the first time on Sat for a light lunch. So delighted with the service, food and atmosphere, that I returned for lunch today, Tuesday. Friendly greeting, and I ordered a black coffee and ham and cheese toastie on brown seeded bread. Now it all goes south!! Coffee arrived, and it was a murky brown colour, and taste made me think it was instant, not filtered. Only some granules on the saucer clued me in to it being allegedly filtered. After 15mins, people coming after me having received their food, I asked what was happening with my order. Apologies given, and I waited a further 10mins for the food to arrive - on white sourdough!! I mentioned my frustration to the young lady server who offered me a replacement or refund. I declined as I had already waited so long, and ate it. I recognise the place was busy with lunch service, but to forget an order, and not even update the customer, is bad service. Henry's is local to me, and the food I have ordered has been good, despite being on white bread instead of brown, but due to my experience today, I will be thinking long and hard about returning to this establishment.
