The best restaurants in Newton and Noss South Hams South West

Such a wonderful experience with tasty food, perfect tea, and a beautiful setting. We had such a lovely time it was idyllic and just the tasty meal we needed after our walk on the Warren. Highly recommended.

We came off a 2-3 hour coast walk hungry for something to lunch-on.. we considered the local reasonably-rated pubs but ended up taking a punt on this gorgeous-looking establishment. BOY DID WE STRIKE GOLD!! The salads were delicious.. all expertly put together (I sought advice about the green beans and roasted red pepper one - toasted coriander and cumin seeds + vinaigrette + dill were driving the deliciousness here!) The Waldorf was crisp and tasty; The chick pea coronation was inspired; A Turkish leek and feta ‘quiche-like’ showstopper was deliciousness itself. My coffee was top. A glass of their house wine delicious (Sorry I’m saying delicious so often but boy-oh-boy is it deserved!) And the soup of the day a lentil and chilli winter-warmer with a slice of excellent skillet-half-toasted bread was as good as sourdough toast gets. We didn’t have room for anything else so will just have to keep coming back!! So no cake reviews, but I’d hazard a guess they’re del…. you can fill in the rest for yourself! And at the lowtide estuarine sledge-walk just before we came across the deli I saw THE MOST EXQUISITE GREENSHANK, quite close up.. perhaps the most gorgeous shore bird you can see in the Uk. (But you do need binocs to see the white eyeliner, the speckled wings, the beautiful upturned beak.. I’ll post a pic.. When you see this think Salads-This-Good!!) Thank you, thank you, thank you Deli-tious brigade! And the service was exceptionally good too. SIX stars from me!!

Very busy but it was NewYearsEve

Great place right beside the water. Picturesque location. Great welcoming staff. Dog friendly. The menu is varied and the food is excellent. There's parking beside the pub. It's tidal so check tide state ie in out. Phone the pub they'll tell you what the tide I had doing.

Got together with long standing good friend couple for a relaxed evening before the Christmas madness starts. By no means busy but a perfect setting and food for a lovely evening.

I visit regularly and am always impressed with the food and drinks. Excellent coffee and good food. The owner and staff do an impressive job with the space and resources they have and the Green is a great community asset. I notice a previous reviewer criticises the prices and the alleged quality of the food. This is unfair, naive and unrealistic as we all know the cost of living and food prices have increased and this affects everyone. Clearly some people cannot accept change or realise the world of food retail is very challenging these days. Definitely worth a visit and enjoy the community atmosphere of the village.
