We’ve eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. It’s a great unspoiled country pub with friendly owners. The menu has a good variety to choose from, portions are generous and everything is reasonably priced. The service is great and nothing is too much trouble. The Sunday menu is also excellent. Thoroughly recommended. We’ll be back!

Absolutely fantastic roast! We stumbled upon this gem in Devon and were blown away. The food was top quality — everything cooked to perfection with generous portions. Service was speedy and super friendly, you can tell it’s a family-run place with a lot of heart. It had a warm, welcoming vibe that made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper roast and great hospitality! Big thank you to John who looked after us all!

The products that these people grow and sell are superb. This is a range of chilli peppers from all over the world including the spiciest ever called the Reaper chilli, the sauce of which is famed as the hottest in the world! We bought some and boy does it live up to its reputation! Quite expensive, worth it and thank you

Love this place! The farm shop is full of fantastic locally grown/made food, drink, jewellery, decorations, homeware... The food in the restaurant was perfection. The ice cream was delicious! The decor is so fun. It is decorated so lovely for Christmas. Would absolutely recommend and will certainly be returning when we're back this way.

Sad to be submitting a poor review for one of our favourite places in the SW. Unfortunately, we went today for lunch and to buy plants for our garden. I was sitting waiting for our after lunch drinks and cake when I was hit on the head by a falling picture. I was very shocked and in pain. I went to the counter to tell them what happened and they were unconcerned and somewhat disinterested. I returned to our table and three other diners came to ask if I was ok - they witnessed the accident, were all very concerned and encouraged me to report the incident. One of the cafe team came to our table and I also told her what had taken place. She was rude and hostile, saying accidents happen, implied I shouldn’t have interrupted the woman on the till who was serving another customer. She was unconcerned about my experience and offered no apology or even a hint of empathy. I felt humiliated and her attitude really upset me. Others in the restaurant heard every word and were appalled, one gentleman was going to speak to the manager before he left he was so disgusted! I have a nasty bruise on my head and on my left shoulder, my head is painful and sore - this was not a minor event! I do have the name of this member of the team but have decided not to publicly name and shame her! One of the directors (Mike Jones) came to see me and was most apologetic and promised he would speak to the team about their response to a serious incident. He was very nice but the damage was already done by both the picture and the member of the cafe staff.

Thought I would give the place a try as I have driven past it loads of times. I wasn’t disappointed with the food or drink. Smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast was very good. My only negative comment would be that the menu is very limited. I don’t fully understand how they do sausages, bacon and eggs in buns, but can’t do a traditional breakfast. But there again I’m not in the hospitality business. It’s a lovely setting. Looking forward to visiting again soon.
