The products that these people grow and sell are superb. This is a range of chilli peppers from all over the world including the spiciest ever called the Reaper chilli, the sauce of which is famed as the hottest in the world! We bought some and boy does it live up to its reputation! Quite expensive, worth it and thank you

A much more enjoyable experience than the garden centre offerings. Lots of chilli chocolate, chutney and sauce samples to try for free whilst you are waiting for your order. The place was very quiet but it is probably a bit out of the way for most (worth the journey imo). Staff very pleasant and chatty. Food was good quality and quickly served. (Home made soup and cream tea) Will re visit.

Really good food and reasonably priced. Had the cream teas with chilli jam (really nice) and the nachos and chilli (pictured). Only slight negative is we got brought someone else's food by mistake but it was quickly sorted and it was a bit of a wasp frenzy due to the fruit trees (an FYI rather than a negative against the cafe). Definitely a good stop if you're in Devon.

Well that's going to be changing as it's delicious . We had their Welsh Rarebit , their own Boston Beans and shares a small and delicious nachos . All tasty , today all veggie and absolutely lovely .

We had looked forwards to our visit since driving past the farm on our way to Kingsbridge. We arrived mid afternoon. The show tunnel was interesting and the plants were labelled informatively; it was a pity that the member of staff working in the tunnels didn’t offer any conversation to provide extra facts. We ordered chilli con carne. This was disappointing; a bowl full of nachos with a couple of spoons of chilli con carne and generous dollops of sour cream, guacamole and relish. The food wasn’t hot in terms of temperature or spice.

This was an accidental find, we were just driving past and saw it. The shop is good, has a range of palate-blowing chilli products. We ordered the cream tea, you get two large scones, a pile of jam and even more of clotted cream. The scones were just warm and perfect. It was the bigget cream tea I have ever tried, my wife couldn't finish hers which was something I thought I'd never witness. And just to reiterate, it was gorgeous. They also do a savoury scone option. Maybe next time. Other meals are available.

An interesting place to visit. Staff very friendly and informative. Lots of different strength chilli plants to choose from in the poly tunnel with very helpful information about the heat of the chillies of each plant and whether better for cooking or salads etc. We chose a mild one and a mid strength to grow on at home. Then we took a stroll to the top of the meadow to enjoy the view. It was time for lunch so as it was the hottest day so far this year, we sat outside with view over apple orchard and beyond. Lunch was delicious. We then browsed the shop with the various pots and jars of chilli to buy and a nice touch was that each product had a taster jar to try. Beware the skull and crossbones! Lots of chilli chocolate to try too! Lovely shop, very clean modern cafe and we were surprised how long we were there as we imagined a brief visit would be sufficient. We will definitely return.

There's an area where you can chose plants to buy and a show tunnel where you can see all the different varieties of chilli plants. When we went to the cafe we all had a cream tea, either traditional or savoury option. When we ordered we sat down and the drinks were served almost straight away, but we did wait a long time for the scones to come, with others being served before us that had ordered after us. Which was a little annoying as we had all finished our hot drinks by the time the scones had been brought to us.

Love love love this place, it's one of those hidden gems that is in danger of growing too big and losing its charm. But for now, really interesting chilli based products and plants. Cool little play area and treasure hunt for the little ones. The only complaint is the lack of personality taking orders in the cafe, we thought that we were delighted with the food (it was delicious) until we realised that there was a menu, and we'd only ordered from the specials board. If only someone had actually spoken to us in a hospitable way and explained the offer, we would have ordered differently. The food we saw going out to other tables (obviously chilli based) looked amazing. We'll be back to try other things, and hopefully the team in the cafe may be a little more confident talking to people by then.

Arrived at the Chilli farm on a Sunday afternoon around 15:30 o'clock and not a visitor in sight. Expecting to be directed to the chilli farm first it was disappointing to be guided straight into the cafe which had its typical collection of random Chilli branded, flavoured and designed products. A rather bland welcome from a woman behind the counter who could only utter the words "your dog has to stay outside". After a very brief tour of the farm, most of it was closed because there isn't anything to see at this time of the season, we decided to have a tea and coffee. Thinking the influence of South America and Asia would have also touched their coffee making, I asked for a strong coffee. Being assured that every coffee is made with a double shot I was looking forward to a good strong brew. Not even the vending machine at my local railway station made it this weak and bland. I'd recommend a good Barista training!

This is a lovely place to go for lunch. The chilli polytunnel is worth a visit whilst you wait for your food and the views are very pleasant - lovely sitting outside on a warm Summers day (hopefully later this year!).We often wander round the shop - which is heaven for chilli addicts like us - there are the regular things you would expect like the chilli sauces as well as jewelry and pottery. Samples of most things are available to try so you can see if you like the chilli chocolate or the chilli jam before you buy.Back to the food...its not fancy and most things have chilli with them but on the side so you can add....or not! There are usually 3 or 4 specials which I usually pick from and my wife often goes for the brie and bacon ciabatta roll ...served with chilli jam, tortilla chips and salad. My wife has a severe cucumber allergy and they are brilliant offering to make up a fresh salad using a fresh knife so nothing has been in contact with their cucumber. Do try the Padron chillis - think its one in five or six is hot - and I always seem to get the hot one!! They are so tasty simply cooked with sea salt. The cold drinks are interesting and my daughter adores the chilli hot chocolate. Let's be clear. This is a cafe on a chilli farm so you'd expect it to showcase the range of uses for chilli. We tried the chilli hot chocolate which was wonderful and just the ticket for a rainy day. We look forward to drinking plenty more of it during the cold winter evenings where the heat of the chilli gives a little extra warmth. We also sampled most of the cakes on offer. The chocolate orange brownie being the pick. Chocolate and chilli go well together but I'm not sure the chilli added so much to some of the other cakes. Nevertheless it was nice to try them. Service was excellent. My wife accidentally knocked over her hot chocolate and it was replaced with no fuss. A nice touch. The ambience was also nice with a slight south American flavour which goes well with the chilli theme. We didn't try any of the lunch items but they sounded nice and were well priced. As entrance is free and you can try lots of samples we think there is a good argument for visitors treating themselves at the cafe.

After my partner had imbibed a bit too freely of the hottest selection of sauces on display in South Devon Chilli Farm’s shop, we decided to have a sit down and some liquid refreshment to take away some of the sting in the cafeteria which is located towards the back of the shop. They have a lovely outside seating area with picnic benches and views over the farm and the hills beyond. Sadly it wasn’t warm enough to sit outside when we visited in September so we had to content ourselves with a table inside. Fear not if you are not a lover of spicy food as the cafeteria serves both spicy and non-spicy dishes. We ordered a Chilli Brownie apiece which had a nice bite and warmth to it. I had a normal cup of cappuccino which was beautifully decorated with a rather quirky chilli shaped chocolate topping. My partner decided to punish himself with some more heat and ordered a Chilli Hot Chocolate…which thankfully proved less fiery than some of the sauces he’d tried. Our drinks were served with wrapped squares of their chilli chocolate which was a nice touch, even though we had already eaten the equivalent of our own body weights from the free samples in the shop….I’d definitely recommend the cafeteria and would love to go back again some day and try their Chilli Cream Tea which sounds like an interesting update on a Devon Cream Tea. This version comprises of two cheese scones, chilli jam, cream cheese and a pot of tea (£5.90). I thought the quality and presentation of all the food I saw being served in the cafeteria was excellent for the prices they charged. Highly recommended.

Great place to visit if you like chilli and a reasonably priced cafe in an idyllic location. Lots of samples to try in the shop. Had a lovely chilli mocha which was quite hot and really tasty. The chilli hot chocolate was delicious too. Will return to sample the food as was reasonably priced and sounded delicious. Shame we had already eaten.

Husband and I went to visit the shop and decided to have a drink whilst we were there. The hot chilli chocolate was delicious, smooth chocolate with a lovely warming chilli kick, not too hot. Husband had a cappachino and said it was the best he's had for a long time, and the chili decoration on top was brilliant!

Recently visited the South Devon chili farm and I really enjoyed. The free tasters are great and enable you to try before you buy. They sell all things chili from the actual plants, chutneys, jams to chocolate and even chili jewellery!Had lunch which was great and the food arrived very quickly. Would recommend a visit if you are in the vicinity.

Learnt more about chillies than ever before and great service. A great alternative to the usual cafe meal, even if you aren't a fan of hot food.

The South Devon Chilli Farm has come a long way in the past couple of years, benefiting especially from an extension holding a great shop and the Cafe. The food on offer is obviously focussed on their key product, with chilli chutneys, jam, etc. but there are a couple of non chilli alternatives :-)Great place for a lunch time snack. Just don't fill up on the free chilli chocolate tasters!

Good spot for a bite to eat. Lovely location, tasty food, good shop. The cafe is small and includes inside and outdoor seating. The food is good and pretty much all has a chilli twist, including the savoury cream tea! And, being able to sample everything in the shop is a huge bonus - I recommend the chilli chocolate.

This is a nice cafe in the farm shop. The menu is a little limited, especially for younger children. Most/all meals contains chillies, which for young children thats a challenge. The chilli con carne was nice and so were the sauces available on the table. For a small cafe it was very good, but may be consider the addition of a few dishes wthout chillies to ensure you cater for all tastes.Would definately eat again when we visit next the farm.

This family friendly, little pocket of sunny Mexico, once again dazzled with dishes which were just so fresh and delicious. Attentive, friendly service and help with food choices for those needing guidance, complete a dining experience not to be missed. I would like to try every item on the menu so will be going back many more times!!
