This family friendly, little pocket of sunny Mexico, once again dazzled with dishes which were just so fresh and delicious. Attentive, friendly service and help with food choices for those needing guidance, complete a dining experience not to be missed. I would like to try every item on the menu so will be going back many more times!!

Super fresh, tasty dishes. The nachos were amazing and definitely great for sharing. The prawns were also full of flavour. The owner was cooking in view of the tables which we liked, and she was really friendly. Lovely staff too! We will be back.

We went to La Ranchera in Kingsbridge for a family meal as we fancied something a bit different. The service was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was amazing, very tasty and there were good portion sizes. The atmosphere was relaxing and the decoration very Mexican! All in all a great place to visit.

This restaurant serves the best Mexican food I've eaten outside of Mexico. All the dishes are made from scratch by the owner. The ceviche is especially good and very fresh. The cocktails are also top notch. The staff are friendly and competent. All in all, this place is an excellent find.

Just the most delicious fresh authentic Mexican food I have ever tasted. Better than I ate in Mexico. Lovely owner is preparing everything fresh in front of you and super charming waitresses will ensure you understand the menu and choose level of heat / flavours to suit. The front of house experience is so warm.. playing with toddlers and making time to chat. All so genuine.

Still can’t believe that we have had this gem of a restaurant right here in Kingsbridge and this is my first visit. Authentic, fresh, flavourful and well presented Mexican cuisine served up in a family friendly atmosphere. Already planning my next culinary choices off the classic and varied menu having seen other tables choices being brought over to their table and suffering food envy although wouldn’t have been able to fit another morsal in - even forgoing the dessert options very reluctantly! I will leave room for the churros next visit!

Great to return to this excellent restaurant and find the food as tasty as it was last year. Starter nachos plenty for two to share, and the mains chicken burrito and chicken enchiladas mole were freshly cooked and full of flavour. They even ask what degree of heat we wanted! Another super evening

Nachos for starters were excellent, fajitas in a hot stone, and the chicken mole (chocolate sauce) also very good. Cheeky tequila with watermelon flavour, and the marques del valle red hit the spot for drinks.

Just amazing, Food was delicious, fish tacos were so light and crisp with fresh ingredients. My partner had the burrito which was also bursting with flavour and packed full! Very generous portions, well presented and authentic. Cocktails are a real winner too - we had a Frozen Margarita & Mojito both were excellent. We ordered churros to takeaway with us which we ate on our walk home. Equally as tasty as the rest of the food. The atmosphere was really fun with great music playing, staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly, a real credit to the place! We could not be happier with our experience! Can't wait to come back when we're next in the area.

Excellent authentic Mexican place in South Devon! The tacos we had were delicious and made with corn tortillas, we also had a choice of low medium or hot sauce which was very helpful. Overall great hidden gem in Kingsbridge with good atmosphere, will visit again to try the enchiladas!

lovely meal, great service, from a small family-run restaurant - doesn't look great from the outside, but do venture in as the meal will be well worth it the young waitress was very friendly and helpful to us, in discussing the dishes and options for starters we shared cod ceviche, very nicely presented - tasted so fresh and vibrant with the lime juice burritos/tortilla mains, excellent, very tasty, with a lovely fresh salad the wines were all(?) or mainly Mexican, we found an excellent red which went well with the food - they also had a huge range of tequilas and other cocktails which we didn't sample

We had a stunning meal here on Friday, the food and drinks were incredible. It was a lovely atmosphere, really quick service even though all the food was freshly cooked to order. Beautiful presentation, attention to detail and very friendly staff. The spicy margaritas are to due for!

Back again and it was even better! Fabulous food, service and atmosphere. Very accommodating of our large group. We were able to preorder and they also brought us extra nachos to quell starter envy. We were also allowed to wear the hats. We will be back 😎

La Ranchera continues to delight, it’s an authentic Mexican dining experience, casual and good value with great food and service. Don’t be deceived by the underwhelming location, it’s a hidden gem. And a Tequila list to die for…..probably would if you tried them all!

Absolutely perfect evening, we cant on the 14/10/23. From start to finish the service was amazing, food was INCREDIBLE and the atmosphere was just the best. I honestly cant recommend this restaurant more! The waitresses were very attentive, knew all the dishes and even helped out some of my family who couldnt do spice. All the food is made to order, so its super fresh also! I will DEFINITELY be coming back with my family

Love La Ranchera! We have visited once before and were keen to visit on this trip to Devon. As big fans of Mexican food and always surprised at how few Mexican restaurants there are in the UK, we give La Ranchera 10/10! Amazing homecooked food, a super menu, and excellent warm service, I expect we will make a booking here on every visit. Special shout out for the hot sauce which my husband describes as 'not just sufficiently hot, but also with a fantastic flavour which is quite rare in hot sauces!' A very lovely and authentic family-run Mexican restaurant :)

Such a great place, and everyone loved their food. We all said it was the best meal of the holiday. The lady serving was lovely and made us all feel welcome, even our crazy toddler.

First time visit, we’d heard good things about La Ranchera since moving to K’bridge, but not being impressed with ‘chain’ Mexican restaurants in UK hadn’t made visiting a priority. But we were delighted with La Ranchera ….who would expect an authentic neighborhood Mexican in Kingsbridge! Just like places I used to frequent when lived in US. Lucky! Great cooking, quality ingredients, flexible on the heat, attractive space (with good, friendly service) and very interesting Mexican sourced drinks list from beers through Tequilas. We liked it so been twice in a few days, both visits excellent.

I am visiting the UK from the states, I reside in Arizona land of Mexican cuisine lol. I am staying in Kingsbridge and have been wanting Mexican food, so I googled and found this gem! It was absolutely lovely! Definitely satisfied my craving. Chef was very kind as some dishes were prepared a lil different than back home so she explained how it was made but what a flavor explosion! So, coming from an area where there are many choices of this fabulous cuisine, LA Ranchera does not disappoint and I would highly recommend, I know I will be going back😊

Lovely, small and cosy environment with an energy that captures Mexico. The staff were absolutely wonderful and a special shout-out to the chef who seemed to work solo preparing the meals. We were able to enjoy our meal without being rushed through. If you’re looking to try some truly authentic Mexican food then here is the place.

This is by far our favourite restaurant in kingsbridge from Abi and Milka at the front of house to Betty who is the owner and cook. The food is simply outstanding and cooked fresh right in front of you there are 4 choices of spice for all dishes Extra hot,hot,medium and mild start at your lower limit and move up a notch on your return trip.We moved to kingsbidge in February and have tried nearly all the restaurants in kingsbridge like indian chinese and Turkish and La rancera blows them all out of the water on price and quality of service and food and if this is easily Kingsbridge hidden jewel and if it was in the town centre you would never be able to get a table. Thank you everyone at La rancera

This place is such a hidden gem that deserves more recognition - we visited here while on holiday and had the most amazing dinner. Everything we tried was just fab and so authentic and really fresh. The tequila list was massive and the margaritas were the best I’ve ever had. A lovely little spot with great staff and amazing food that I would highly recommend!

A brilliant chef/ owner cooking in public view and simultaneously managing staff. Up beat meet and greet. Great enthusiasm from Abbi front of house. She engaged and laughed with children and adults. If you are in the South Hams area make a point of going to La Ranchera in Kings bridge. A small restaurant serving authentic Mexican food which is freshly and expertly prepared by the owner. We had some lovely cocktails to start, shared home made nachos and then had chicken fajitas, which you can have prepared to varying degrees of heat! All excellent. The food on neighbouring tables looked just as good. If you want delicious fresh food this is the place to come! The service was also brilliant. Well done all.

What a gem of a place. The ladies in there are so lovely. The food is prepared and cooked infront of you with local fresh produce.the chilli beef melted in your mouth and all the flavours were incredible. Can not rate this this place highly enough. Tan pronto llegas al lugar te llena la mirada de color y alegría, la atención fue excelente (no cuenta con parqueadero propio), el sabor de la comida es de calidad,la proporción normal,me encanta la temática que tu miras como la chef (mexicana) hace sus preparaciones, la comida desde los nachos hasta las salsas todas son hechas nada comprado en el super ya hecho, eso me encantó. Algo que definitivamente no me gustó es que los precios son super costosos, éramos 3 (mi esposo,la niña y yo) hemos pagado por solo 2 entradas,2 fuertes, 3 cócteles uno sin alcohol y 2 cervezas ) £98 lo que me pareció demasiado costoso y quedé muy decepcionada con respecto al precio. La comida es deliciosa pero deberían de bajar un poco más el valor a las cosas para que haya un equilibrio entre cantidad, sabor y precio. Del resto todo muy bien . Our first visit, and certainly won't be our last. A meal for my Birthday but unfortunately two members of the family took ill last minute. Such a warm, friendly and welcoming place, immediately felt relaxed and in good company. The food was simply the best Mexican food we have ever had. And those that couldn't make it, had what they would have ordered packaged and ready to take home when we had finished. They didn't start preparing it until they could see we were almost finished. So they had it hot when we got home. I really can not wait to be able to visit again! Gracias!
