Anzac Street Bistro in South Hams

A fabulous small bistro. The food was delicious and generous servings. The wine very reasonably priced and the service perfect. Being a small bistro the ambiance was great. We will be back again and would highly recommend.

We had dinner, this evening, three courses each, all were fabulous, top quality ingredients , high presentation, great ambience, with a French twist, very friendly, welcoming, we spent all evening over our meal, the table was ours for the evening, creating a very calm relaxing atmosphere, we will be back. This is a hidden gem, we went for dinner on Friday night and then booked again for Saturday night. It is a small bistro with a small menu but there is usually a fish special and a dessert special and we found enough choice. The food is really good I had the curry and my husband had the sea bream special on the first night both were cooked well and were delicious. The second evening I had the steak and my husband had the venison both were excellent. Both evening we had the chocolate fondant which was sublime and my husband had the special treacle tart which he said was excellent. We can’t recommend this place enough!

Found this restaurant by chance as was actually looking for another restaurant nearby. Food was excellent, personal service chef even came out to double check the strength I wanted my curry. Partner had the sea bass and said was best he had had. Very friendly and cosy feel. Definitey recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights at the Anzac Bistro. The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and the service was excellent. The evening meal was very good and the breakfasts were great. Positioned right in the centre of Dartmouth, the bistro was perfect for our weekend visit.

Party of 4 (2 couples) had a lovely meal on a Friday night at the AZB - really attentive service, we all had different mains (fish stew, chicken curry, rib-eye and Sea Bass) all well balanced and well cooked (though agree previous review comments about need for finger bowl with the fish stew, which I also didn't get). Wines were very good (Italian red and rose) and well priced. Overall excellent value and lovely evening, we shall return.

We dined here Saturday evening, probably our 4th holiday visit over the past few years. I had the fish stew and my wife the goats cheese salad with smoked duck. Both were pretty good, the service was friendly and attentive and although it was Saturday and busy there were no lengthy delays with ordering or service. If I’m being a bit picky with fish stew and messy tiger prawns a finger bowl or wet wipe would have been useful. We will probably be back again next year.

An exceptional restaurant that I had the pleasure of dining at last week. The pan-fried scallops I had as a starter were perfectly cooked, with a delightful garlic taste that complemented their natural sweetness. The mushroom risotto for the main course was cooked to perfection, featuring a balanced and creamy texture with rich earthy flavours. The wine selection is also excellent; Flo quickly recommended me a bottle to go with my food selection. The service was attentive and knowledgeable, and the restaurant had a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Anzac Street Bistro is a gem that offers a memorable dining experience with delicious food and warm hospitality!

Pleasant place and no problem with the service. Found my curry rather lacking in depth, appeared to be just chicken piece in a watery sauce with some heat added, was disappointed for the price paid. Others that had other meals quite enjoyed them.
