We went here one Tuesday lunch time me my husband daughter and two grandchildren. We arrived and were shown into a conservatory part very nice. We were served with our drinks very quickly and were given the menus. The lady came and took.our order and a little while later the food arrived. Our meals were excellent couldn't fault them at all. All in all a lovely place and great staff. Will definitely return. Anne walker

Ate at the Rose & Crown whilst staying at a local B&B, whose owner had recommended the pub. Very friendly landlord, large plates of excellent quality food, to go alongside the extremely good service. Would be nice to be more local to it, to use it again, but would certainly look to eat there again if in the area. Highly recommend.

Our first time at the Lamb for a while, and sadly it didn't live up to expectations. The pub had long been known for great locally produced food, great beer with a warm and lively atmosphere. We visited mid-week and found the experience to be rather underwhelming. The menu has some wonderful dishes on it, alongside some pub classics - not exciting, but a solid menu. We ordered a variety of starters and mains. The waitress returned to our table to deliver our food and told us there had been a mistake in the kitchen and that the mains were being prepared to come out with or before the starters. It seems to us that the chef wanted to go home promptly, as the kitchen closed at 8pm and this was as around 1945. My wife had the cod tacos and they were brilliant - tasty, well presented and truly creative. My children had the kids beef burgers and I had a chicken burger. The burgers weren't great. The children's burger was just a plain burger in a bap, (no option for cheese etc). They both complained the burger was dry. My chicken burger was tasty, but the chicken was overcooked and therefore quite tough on the edges. The chips were fantastic! Dessert was good. We were informed the kitchen had no cream and that meant a couple of the dishes were off/needing to be adapted. Three tasty puddings (ice creams and the sundae) arrived and were enjoyed by all. Overall it fell below expectations. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but it isn't a shadow of what it once was. I hope our visit was not typical. The Lamb holds a special place in my heart and it is painful to write a review that isn't gushing with admiration. But sadly it was the worst meal we had out this week. Another local pub the following night showed us just what was missing. A plea to the Lamb team - rather than defending criticism and feedback (which your reviews are full of), embrace it and improve. It's an amazing spot but it isn't hitting the mark at present. It can be so much more than it is today.

Booked for an early evening roast as we were staying with family in a neighbouring village. We all had roast dinner. Myself being vegetarian opted for the nut roast. Absolutely delicious. Meats well cooked and plentiful. Food well presented and hot. Crumble and salted caramel cheese cake for desserts. Again delicious. I would most definitely recommend this pub as a place to dine and catch up with family and friends. We will be returning.
