The best restaurants in Budleigh East Devon South West

We had a crab sandwich yesterday and were surprised at the price of £15.95 each but we ordered them anyway. We found the sandwiches were much smaller than usual and not so tasty. On checking my bank statement I see that Rockfish has taken over. Probably explains high price and smaller sandwiches. Just £9.95 further down the beach at 50⁰ North and much better quality.

My partner and I visited this first class restaurant for only the second time with three of my Grandchildren this time. We live in Merseyside, but in Devon this is definitely one of the places to visit. Staff very kind and friendly, food first class and my eight year old enjoyed Chicken Nuggets and chips. Well there is something for everyone.

We popped in to see what was happening with the cafe and when it was re-opening, to be told by Betty, the owner, that she hoped to open sometime before Christmas. The new decor was lovely and bright with quirky upcycling. Really looking forward to being a customer there!

Café ubicado dentro del Amo Alpa City Suites ofrece comida caliente de piedra. Probé el bife de Lomo en mi plato caliente de piedra y fue el bistec más increíble que he probado en mi vida. La carne era muy jugoso, fresco, tierna y sabrosa. Mi costilla era perfectamente mármol para mantener es muy sabroso. Cada bocado de la carne era cálido y cocinadas exactamente el camino que quería. Tienes que probar para creer!

Another visit and another excellent Gluten Free Haddock & chips. It’s the best take away Fish &Chips I’ve eaten! We always pop in when we are in the area.

3 of us went for Sunday lunch here and in summary it was excellent one of the best I have had. I rarely eat Sunday Lunch out because I like to cook it myself at home, but went to the Sir Walter Raleigh for a change. The food was exceptional: well cooked meats, good selection of well cooked vegetables, cauliflower cheese was gorgeous and great roasties. I should give a special shout out to the Yorkshire Puddings, as an exile from God’s Country I can be a bit sniffy about Yorkshire Puds, but these were perfect - easily the best I have had in a restaurant. To top it all it was really well presented without being fussy. Good portion size leaving just enough space to share 2 lovely desserts between the 3 of us. The pub is great as well with a good selection of real ale. Would definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

You don’t have to go to Brittany for an Idyllic setting and the freshest seafood. Great service and great value.

We normally order a takeaway as we have done regular for the past 4 years. The meals are always fresh and tasty. They have always had the meals ready at the prescribed time. It’s probably the best takeaway within 5 miles we live closer to Sidmouth but always go to the Chinese Banquet as a preference

Called in after a mornings hike for a Sunday dinner. Was seated upstairs which was a lovely room. The staff were great and the food only took about 10 minutes to arrive. A very pleasant experience.
