Ellerys is a small butchers which also sells home made hot pasties, sausage rolls and pies. Having lived in Cornwall for 30 years I must have eaten several thousand pasties, including Philps which I always thought were the best. That was until I discovered Ellerys. These are quite the BEST pasties I have ever eaten. If you are ever near St Columb Major, which is not far from Newquay Airport, made a point of going to Ellerys and sample one of these wonderful pasties.

I’m not quite sure what the other reviews are about below we had a lovely breakfast when we visited a couple weeks ago. Friendly staff couldn’t do enough, clean cafe, freshly cooked yummy food. Coffee was great. It’s no way near looked like the picture below and might I add they don’t even use those plates…. Also really helpful for knowledge when we asked about what to do and places to eat while on holiday. Just a lovely family run cafe. Great Pitstop.

As a frequent visitor to St Columb Major, this has not improved at all despite the known Locals saying otherwise. Yes more music, better toilets I guess...but a spray of bleach would have done that. Flat Beer and and poor reception..largely ignored 🙁

We booked in for breakfast with friends, coffee and food excellent! Great selection of beers and stouts. The staff were so accommodating, relaxed and friendly. It is beautifully decorated for Christmas which added to our festive spirit. We arrived at 11 and left at 5.30pm. Can’t recommend enough. Absolutely made our annual gathering extra special. Thank you. Definitely be back

Totally disappointed with the food for the price you are paying. The Butter Chicken Curry was more like tomato soup with water logged rice making the curry runnier and the naan bread was hard, the Cajun Chicken Pasta was bland and flavourless.

We called in for lunch on a drizzly Saturday afternoon. We hadn’t reslised that it was part of a hotel, this probably explained the fairly expensive prices - over £19 for Scampi felt very steep. I had a ham and mustard sandwich - very tasty with a fresh salad and coleslaw. I was not keen on the crisps. My companion had the small fish and chips which was good value at £12.00. He was glad he didn’t order the large portion as he left some of his chips. There was a decent selection of real ales available in the bar.
