Below average Chinese takeaway.

Food has gone downhill on my last visit and ended up only eating a third.

For some reason wverytine we get food it'shas no flavour and the rice is always hard, not a very good meal, only Chinese in major so it needs to be good

Fantastic Chinese food always fresh.it gets busy in summer so order early

We always use Sun House when we fancy a Chinese meal

At time of review Sun House has a 5 food hygiene rating which is very reassuring, when collecting my food I noticed the kitchen is on full display to customers which is again very reassuring they have nothing to hide. The food was piping hot and very tasty, also very good portions.

Couldn’t eat the food, was luke warm and meat was so hard and chewy it was inedible , will not order from here again

We ordered tonight from sun house, and decided to try something different. Well the food arrived on time, extremely hot. And tasted amazing.

Just had Pork Chow Mein and it was delicious. Friendly staff and ready to collect quickly.

This place is absolutely vile! DONT ORDER FROM HERE! We ordered from here thinking it would be nice but we were wrong! The chicken was stretchy and hard to bite into. Although they were on time it was very overpriced ! The rice was dry and the egg fu yung was disgusting. Please don’t order from here

Read the bad reviews but thought I'd try anyway. Possibly the worse Chinese I have had unfortunately, chow mein was not nice, wrong sauces given, burnt seaweed, and it just didn't taste like a Chinese. The only ok thing was the rice. I'm very sad.

worst chinese iv ever had . burnt un edible spring roll chicken chow was full of some kind of watery sauce and more veg than noodles i thought chicken chowmain was a dry dish ? chicken balls full of oil dripping curry sauce had like a gone off taste to it the meat was all fat and gristle .£37 whole lot went straight in the bin

Absolutely awfull prices for what you get on your plate, £30 for a meal for two and not a lot at that, we phoned and complained because they even had the cheek to over charge us which they found quite amusing, how did a ladle of soup go up 70p overnight? Keep your money and go in the co op next door and buy fresh veg and meat and cook your own

Always love a Daves chinese especially the large spring rolls as they differ each time obviously home made

Poor customer service, missing dishes off order, nearly any chicken in chicken curry, high prices, and overall a terrible experience!!

Quite literally the worst food that I’ve experienced in my life. Fried chicken? More like slimy snails. Bland and disgusting. The fried bread, my mistake “prawn toast” were asif they’d been in the bottom of the fryer since yesterday morning. Satay chicken? My dog has had better consistency in his wee. Absolute joke. The duck however, on the upper hand was plain and boring but somehow the best dish on my plate. I honestly wouldn’t buy this for a homeless man on the street as it’s not fair on them.

Food not great ordered sweet and sour chicken balls , chicken and cashew, bbq ribs, young chow fried rice, chilli chicken wings and chips cost £37.60 threw most in the bin balls were so doughy ,chicken and cashew was cucumber carrots and baby corn ,no water chestnuts, bamboo shoots watery no taste or flavour disgusted

Chose Sun house as it's close to Retallack Resort. Managed to get a parking space in market place opposite Co op as parking is difficult. They only accept cash but there is an ATM outside Co-op, The food we had was tasty and still hot on returning to Retallack. So all good.

Chose Sun House because it was the only one locally which had no queue (Red Flag) Purchased Beef with ginger and Spring onion, Sweet and Sour Pork Balls, Boiled Rice and Chips. How anyone can produce a dish containing Ginger and Spring Onion and it be tasteless is beyond me, the beef was chewy too. The pork balls were tough to slice but the sauce saved it, I could at least taste it. The servings are on the small side and not in keeping with the prices. The boiled rice was acceptable but the chips had the taste and feel of having been kept warm for the past hour. It's 2021 yet they do not accept card payments, must be cash! I give them 1 star for the food and 1 star for the name because 'Sun House' gives you a sense of hope that you lose rather quickly once you get your meal home.

This was the best Chinese I’ve had and it was made so quickly. The young lad knew what he was doing and should get a raise as it was so quickly and professionally done.

Would not recommend! I ordered for 7 of us, as there was quite a lot to order I wrote a list to read out with the gentleman on the phone repeating back to me, after 5 attempts it was still wrong with items missing after we collected it. The food was very poor, probably one of the worst Chinese take-aways I've ever had. If you're staying in Cornwall and fancy a Chinese, my tip is to look elsewhere!!

The prawn toast tasted like fried bread, the satay like sweet and sour water. Even the prawn crackers were burnt, but at least they were free. I wouldn't recommend.

Only got the salt and pepper King prawns and it was delicious. Flavoursome and fried in fresh oil.

I was going to order some food from the restraunt and I saw some off your staff outside smoking with there aprons still on . Also when I went into your restaurant the staff came back on from there breaks and they didnt even wash there hands after they had a break also they kept on going on there phones while I ordered some food but sorry for complaint other than that your food is good :) I only complaining about the staff while I was going for a take away... they also was smoking in front of the door way and they put there cigarette ends on the door also I was only looking out for your take away could you please have a word with your staff many thanks

Not great. The rice was dark grey in colour and not something to enjoy. Not really sure what was contained within the rice dish, but would only recommend if you needed to empty your system. The foo young dish was slightly better, but not great value and food (if you can call it that) was my worst experience of a Chinese ever.

Dave is always willing to try and cater adding or removing ingredients from meals food is cooked fresh in front of you and still hot after your journey home

Really nice food, would order every week but cash only and I hardly ever deal in cash, shame card payments not an option or just eat.

Excellent food and service time. well impressed with the curry sauce,im a bit of a Chinese expert when it comes to the curry sauce,and this curry sauce is lush.Highly recommended definitely eat from there again,and the mrs was well happy to.

Dreadful, never again. Salt and pepper chicken tough tasteless popcorn chicken. Must have run out of soy sauce . Bland boring food.

Great takeaway, one of the best in Cornwall. Fast friendly service and food that's not the frozen stuff from the wholesalers which many Chinese takeaways in Cornwall seem to serve. Well worth a visit!

5 star - always good - highly recommend

Food is ok here by global standards. Outstanding by Cornish standards. Like the rest of St. Columb major it is a time warp to the 1950s.

Sorry to say the crispy chilli beef should be renamed 'grisly chilli beef'. It actually made us feel sick and most of it was thrown away. We may have just been unlucky?

Satay chicken is more like pineapple soup and pork balls very chewy but beef chow mein was lovely and everything else spot on. Cash only payments though which is very 1998😣

Try somewhere else. Wasn't very nice and really greasy. Flavourless, forgot the prawn crackers for orders over £15 and got the sauce wrong.
