What a fantastic evening at The Ring O' Bells. Gorgeous food, very friendly atmosphere and the wonderful Sarah and Lucy with their beautiful historic pub and restaurant. Well worth a visit if you're anywhere in Cornwall.

An amazing pub and restaurant with fantastic food and friendly efficient service. The range of drinks on offer is staggering including an impressive cocktail menu. Went for Sunday toast today which was cooked to perfection. The pub was busy as it’s half term, but the service was great and the welcome was warm.

Arrived without a booking and the lovely staff found us a table for 2. My daughter took ages to choose a meal. Too many good dishes apparently :) She is not wrong. She had a burger which looked great plus huge and the aroma was enticing. I had scampi and chips (I know not very adventurous ) It was delightful the scampi was top notch and they were real chips which were crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Real chips. Has a mint mushy pea side which was like no mushy peas I have ever had before. Absolutely a taste bud party on your tongue. Had dessert as well mine was the triple ice cream went down a treat . Daughter had Chocolate Brownie which was huge with a lovely berry coulis .Will visit again , Staff were brilliant and lovely. Thank you all.

Had our place in Newquay 3 years and only just found this little gem of a place today. I can only describe the food as totally amazing and zero complaints at all. Piping hot, quick service and no rush to get you out, complements so much to the chef for the amazing food and all staff members we all do lovely and very helpful. Definitely be coming back here and with some friends too.

Nice little pub and worth a visit.

Lovely meal with friends visiting from the Midlands. They were happy to slightly alter dishes to suit our tastes. We have been before and will return.

Had a Family Sunday Meal here and it was fantastic, The Staff are excellent the welcome was great and then came the food. You need to come with a Big Appetite some of us had starters all different and all delicious, Then came the Roasts the Meats were exceptional and the plates were overflowing with an array of veg a large Yorkshire and on the side delicious Cauliflower Cheese extra gravy was provided. Despite all of this some managed a dessert Crumble to die for and Sticky Toffee Pudding and again large portions Thanks to all the staff you made our Special Day even more special

Our first time in Cornwall and we were lucky enough to be near Ring O'Bells. Out of our 7 day stay we visited four times! Great selection of drinks including locally made and a cocktail menu. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was absolutely amazing. We sampled the Sunday roast, curry night and steak night and it was all mind blowingly tasty....and the puddings.

Went with friends, Friday night, looks lovely, very chilled and relaxed. Starters were stunning, salt and pepper squid were particularly. Mains were a surf and turf. No lobster was a slight and only disappointment, but garlic tigger prawns were very welcomed instead with the perfectly cooked steak and divine peppercorn sauce, my sis also had the chilli cheese sauce fries which of course I had to try and could gladly have just a plate of them and be very happy. Desert didn't happen far from the being an awesome selection. I simply had no more room, but I can only imagine how nice they would be! All in all, stunning food, yes, bit over priced for locals, yes, worth every penny, definitely! Go there, do book! Have lovely food, thank me later, cornish gem!

Fabulous delicious food, we stopped here on the way back to Newquay from Padstow, what a find, they accommodated us at short notice in spite of being very busy, the owner, staff and customers were all so lovely. We had a great meal, the menu was varied and interesting and extremely tasty. The service was great and the wine served in lovely glasses ( very important) the cost was equally impressive. We will be back when in the neck of the woods again

We had a lovely meal at the Ring O Bells, food was presented well, homemade and freshly made, fish and chips very good and crumble was delicious, daughter enjoyed the mocktails. Highly recommended.

A hidden gem! We found this on Google while on holiday and saw it had good reviews. They have specials nights a.d we ate here three times over the week, every meal was lovely. The Sunday roast was banging!

The food, service and atmosphere from the start to the end of our meal was amazing. Highly recommend the cheese pate to start! We went on a Wednesday night which was curry night and a selection of curry’s from different countries and spices which was lovely to be able to choices. Very dog friendly which we loved. Thank you for a lovely evening meal, will definitely be coming back again when we return to Cornwall 😁

This was my second visit here over the last few years while in Cornwall because our first visit was so nice and this was even better. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is another level. Parking can be a little tricky but that won’t put me off. Can’t wait to get back and work my way through the menu and sample the beers.

Fantastic pub! Amazing quality of meals. I had monkfish from the specials board. It was lovely. Group of eight of us. Lovely service. All puddings are homemade too.

Amazing food fantastic portions highly recommend

I booked this brilliant foodie pub way back in January having read the great reviews. We enjoyed ourselves so much on our first visit that we were lucky enough to be able to book to return two days later. The environment is wonderfully comfortable, clean and beautifully kept and there’s a really lovely little beer garden full of flowers. The staff were welcoming and pleased to see us each time we visited, it felt like we’d been there many times before. The food is so good, the talents of the chef are so apparent. There’s also great cocktails and a really nice wine list. Thank you Ring of Bells team, you made our little holiday just perfect and we really hope we see you again in the not too distant future. This was a short walk from Trewan Hall campsite

We had eaten here previously and really enjoyed it so arranged to meet family here and booked for a party of 14. Always slightly nervous when recommending a restaurant to friends and family but needn’t have been as they all enjoyed it as much as us. Kebabalon specials went down a treat. Cocktails looked and tasted awesome. Proper Job was lovely. Service was brilliant even with so many all in one go. Kids enjoyed their food and staff were great with them. All in all a brilliant evening thanks to the Ring of bells

A warm welcome from the moment we arrived, fast efficient, friendly service throughout. Tasty food, healthy portions. Nothing was too much trouble. What a find.

Having visited the Rings of Bells before, we knew what to expect. That being, great food, friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. The curry was lovely and well worth choosing. When we are next down, we intend to book for the Sunday lunch, having heard how nice it is. The staff must be thanked for how they welcome guests in.

Had a few visits to this pub while on holiday in the area. Serving staff were always welcoming and helpful. Lovely little beer garden. Tried the food twice, once was takeaway for curry night which was amazing, really authentic and fresh tasting. Second time we were eating in as a group of two families including children, who were made to feel very welcome. It was a great experience, the food was fantastic. We even tried a lobster which was superb! All in all, a nice friendly pub, well worth a visit ... You can tell the staff here put their heart and soul into this place.

Sirloin steak tender and perfectly cooked medium-rare. Didn't have it, but the Sri Lankran curry sounded excellent. Nice pint of "Proper Job" (keg), and there was a cask ale. A handful of parking spaces at the back but plenty of on-street space down the hill by the mill buildings. Would definitely recommend.

As we came out my brother in law said, "that might even be the best food I have ever eaten". The front of the pub is tiny but it is tardis like inside and very welcoming. We had a party of 10 in the back room nearest the kitchen and we were cared for by a friendly, attentive team with regular visits from the chef during our meal. The food was tasty and clearly prepared with care and love. Food cooked with that level of passion just tastes better. Love makes everything better. The variety and generous helpings of vegetables with our roast dinners also made a big difference. The desserts were also delicious and they certainly don't skimp on portion sizes. For a group with meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans, the whole experience just left with full bellys and big smiles. Thank you 🤗❤️🙏

Quality food, good sized portions, recommend the lamb curry it was xlnt.

We had curry night this evening and it was exceptional, we will be dining here again tomorrow as looking forward to trying lots more delicious dishes. The pub is extremely warm and welcoming as are the staff. Love the quirks on the cocktail menu too😋 5 stars all round.

Visited this marvelous little pub for a Sunday roast. Excellent food and service. Just like a roast at home, good sized portions and fresh not frozen veg. Had a mix of beef and lamb and both delicious Apple and rhubarb crumble with custard a very tasty end to a great meal. Definitely on my list to return when next in the area

Visited this pub on steak night, and was not disappointed! All the food was delicious and staff were happy to swap out food items too which was nice. Nice atmosphere and character in the place - a great find. Would definitely recommend, one of the best steaks I’ve had 👌🙂

This is a gorgeous Cornish Gem of a pub which shines very brighly with its excellent, friendly staff, food and service. Just had a really wonderful birthday meal and can't wait to try out the Sunday Roast amongst all the other choices available.

What a fantastic find, an instant warm welcome from friendly staff who take the time to engage with you, we loved our time in there and the food was outstanding. Blue cheese and white truffle pate to start with some homemade chutney, so rich and flavoursome followed by a dressed lobster half Thermidor half garlic butter & lemon with minted peas which I have been thinking about in sporadic moments throughout the day which tells you all you need to know. Please go and enjoy some time there, the cocktails are also sublime. We visit Cornwall once or twice a year and this will definitely be a regular visit, thank you for a wonderful time.

Fabulous tardis of a proper pub. We had a truly excellent Sunday roast - the beef was meltingly tender and the dish was absolutely packed high with very well cooked and seasoned veg, carrot, swede, parsnips, red cabbage, mixed greens, super crunchy roasties and a side of super cheesy broccoli and cauliflower cheese, and a yorkie. Kudos to the chef, roasts are rarely this good even in higher end so called gastro pubs. Lovely friendly staff, we felt very welcome.

Bit of weird one - we wanted to say a big thankyou to these two lovely ladies We never had the opportunity to eat or drink as it was Sunday and we were later than their food serving time but they did not let us just walk. They gave me three recommendations of where we could eat including finding sat nav post codes and even phoned one of them for us This to me shows excellent customer service. Going over and above for the customer (who didn't get the opportunity to be a customer yet - ) but if we are back in the area we will be heading here

What a lovely find this was for us during our holiday. We went today to celebrate my birthday and it was curry night. We enjoyed the best pickle tray, pakoras and poppadoms I have ever had and the pork curry was amazing too - very tender. Hubbies ox cheeks meal was lovely too. Well done on making my birthday so special, and when we are in Cornwall again we will most certainly be back!

I only live a few miles away but this is the first time visiting ring o bells and I was very impressed. Staff were very polite and friendly, atmosphere was nice, warm, cosy and dog friendly. The food was absolutely brilliant and very well priced too. This is a great place for a meal or just a pint which I will definitely recommend to anyone.

What a place! We’re from Newquay shame we’ve never found the Ring O Bells before. The staff were so lovely super friendly, we felt really welcome and it had a Great atmosphere. Sunday dinner one of the best we’ve had out, Large portion so go hungry. Amazing value for money, we all walked away smiling and happy, with very full tummies! A fantastic find !

Amazing, quaint and historic local pub

We are lucky enough to live in the town and always book the ring of bells when family visit. Sarah and Lucy are so helpful and know everything there is to know about the content of their food and where it’s sourced. You are in for a treat if you book her, we have never been disappointed with the food. The staff are amazing. Well trained, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I have allergies and am incredibly picking with my food, but if you don’t like something, just say and they will do their very best to supplement for something else within reason of course. They have a great cocktail menu! Their kids menu is amazing but they will do a small portion of food outside of this if you ask! Oh and Lucy’s onion rings are to die for

Just had the most delicious meal, surf and turf with Prosecco Friday night special. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience of relaxing atmosphere and great service plus of course the best meal. I thoroughly recommend the Ring o’ Bells

We both had the surf and turf (prawns as no lobster) I am dairy intolerant and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. The meal was perfect and very generous (couldn't finish it) the service was excellent and we would both thoroughly recommend this excellent pub for your next meal out!

Ladies you are simply amazing! We came for food today and our roast was just beautiful The meat was superb Food hot Service 100% I only live a few doors up and admit we don’t go out offen but from now on ring o bells we will be regulars for your roasts! I am a resturaunt manager myself so I know standards….I would go as far as to say your at the top! They fittest us in last minute. Amazing staff, so friendly. We only stopped in for a quick bite to eat, starters and sides, we were not disappointed. Food was delicious, best chips I've ever had. Whitebait and mussels were cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere. Pub was beautifully decorated for Christmas - what an absolute treat!

Everything about the Ring o Bells was memorable. Fantastic fresh homecooked food served by very attentive staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.. We both agreed it was the best vegetarian Sunday lunch we've ever had and there was plenty of choice (not always the case for we vegetarians). Already looking to book again in very near future.

The Ring O Bells with Sarah and Lucy and their team is a fantastic restaurant. The good, service and atmosphere is perfect. With the Christmas decorations up, it is definitely the season to be jolly!

The Ring o bells is a hidden gem. Very nice friendly and efficient staff. It was our sons birthday and the food was beautiful, great produce cooked with a lot of care and pride, the chef clearly has real passion for her food. The mushy peas were unbelievable not to mention the haddock and steak. All piping hot and so full of flavour. Lovely desserts too! First time coming here but will be certain toreturn. Would recommend to anyone even based on our one visit.

We popped in for tea as it was close to our hotel. It is a lovely little place. Very cosy and friendly. Food was great and the service was excellent. Most expensive thing was the steak from the specials at £25 but it was delicious and the portion was worth the price.

A real old fashioned pub. It looks tiny at the front but goes back and back! Wonderful food, great atmosphere friendly staff. What's not to like?!

We had a lovely weekend away in Cornwall and wanted a nice Sunday roast before we headed home! This lovely pub was recommended on trip advisor so thought we would give it a go and so glad we did! It has to be one of the best Sunday roasts we've ever had anywhere! Everything we had was so tasty I had the roast beef and my husband had the roast pork! Even though the portions were big, we were determined we were going to have a delicious home made dessert so we had crumble and bread and butter pudding and these tasted so good! Cannot recommend this place highly enough and will definitely be back with the family when we are staying nearby again.

Excellent food, excellent beer. Served by outstanding staff. 10 out of 10. If you want to fault the place you have gone to the wrong Ring O bells!! We (all eight of us) had not one complaint. Not a spare table in the place. Say no more. Look forward to revisiting the pub next time we are in the area.

Shared a Peach, orange and honey Crumble, which was excellent. Staff were very friendly, chef visited to get feedback. Throughly recommend.

We had a wonderful Sunday roast ,every item of food was flavoursome quality food served hot by pleasant staff. Highly recommended, portion are large so much vegetables gorgeous red cabbage. Locally sourced which is nice to know. Pre book as it gets busy .

Lovely pub that’s dog friendly and the staff were lovely throughout the night. We pre booked to avoid disappointment. They met us with open arms and showed a great deal of attention to our boy the Black Labrador. Supplying treats and warm welcome. The food was lovely and the old pub is well worth a visit if your nearby in Cornwall.

Wow! What a fantastic pub, great food, brilliant service, well kept beer! This was our first visit but won’t be our last! We ate a range of starters, main course and pudding! Nothing was too much trouble, even warmed up some bread to allow the mopping up of delicious gravy!

Just eaten amazing Sunday lunch. Throughly recommend. Excellent value for money food - served piping hot and very generous portions. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had one lamb dinner and one beef. Served with Yorkshire puddings , roast potatoes , cauliflower / broccoli cheese , parsnips and carrots , red cabbage plus peas , beans and sweet corn and a jug of gravy. All totally delicious. We don’t often eat Sunday lunch out as often they are mediocre / not as good as home but these were just great. Don’t hesitate to go

What a find. I managed to book a last minute table for Subday lunch and wasn't disappointed. Helpful efficient and polite staff was a great start. The food was absolutely sublime, and possibly the best Sunday lunch I've ever had. The beef was meltingly tender, with the most delicious gravy. The plate was overflowing with veg and the broccoli cheese was also excellent. Highly recommended.

Well I cannot understand why this wonderful little place has desserts on their menu. Why?, because Sunday lunch is HUGE and so delicious. It's so huge, I could not manage a dessert. I have a good appetite and desserts are normally my favourite part of any meal out, but here sadly, I just could not squeeze one in. I cannot rave about the food highly enough. 4 of us ate here today, we all had a different meat, all were melt in the mouth. Also amazing value in what is a very expensive area for food. £75 for 4 mains, one dessert and 4 soft drink.... and most importantly, we could decide how much of a tip we left, none of this discretionary amounts automatically added. Sadly we're holidaying in the area, so won't get to go again soon. But will definitely book again if/when we visit next year. Do yourselves a favour and book a table. 10+ / 10.

Lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Very good meals. Very easy to find although parking was a bit of a challenge.

Exceptional local pub. It’s difficult to try and convey just how good this place is. If you like a proper local pub, with excellent food and a special level of friendliness, then this is the place for you! The lobster is to die for! Just go and visit, you will not be disappointed.

Ok so where do we start? From an unassuming frontage this gastropub goes back quite a way . The staff and owners are genuinely warm and welcoming. They cater for all dietary requirements and are in their own words 'super dog friendly'. We went there whilst on holiday at the recommendation of our neighbour. We met locals and holiday makers there all enjoying the lovingly prepared food. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable. Although they have themed food evenings, the daily menu is full of delicious options. You will struggle to manage three courses but don't let that stop you having a run at it! The highlights of our evening were a cheese bomb starter, the fish curry and fish pie were excellent, as was the vegetarian pasta. We have already rebooked for another meal this week - why would you go anywhere else?

Doesn’t look much from the outside and parking is around the back and only 3 spaces but well worth the effort for a proper pub with proper pub grub. Gluten free batter is some of the best we’ve ever found so the fish and chips...
