Great food and service as always. Love the mixed chicken and donner with chips and spicy chilli sauce.

L'Ortolan was formerly a really fabulous place in a lovely setting. Sadly it is now closed and will probably be sold. On our last few visits it was looking very tired and in need of some investment and maintenance work on the building and decor. Very sadly the whole experience has gradually gone down hill, the food was still pretty good, some of the staff were excellent but the real attention to detail and the feeling of being exquisitely looked after had gone. It's obviously been fading away slowly over the years but we have some very happy memories of it in the past. Sad to see it go.

Had lovely lunch on Saturday . Friendly staff. Food was hot and good portions . Cosy pub . Highly recommended . Would go again.

Cola en la gasolinera, estacionamiento completo que nos obliga a esperar hasta que alguien más suba para que pudiéramos aparcar, largas colas en las cajas y comer de pie como área de restaurante también estaba lleno y al final, incluso después de gastar más de £ 500, 00 y toda esa molestia, me emitieron una multa de estacionamiento por permanecer más de 32 minutos. Es absurdo que Costco mantenga la misma política durante la temporada navideña sabiendo. Si acabo teniendo que pagar el billete, me replantearé mi membresía premium.

I do like the Shinfield Arms, I’m local and have been going here on and off for years. Used to be called The Black Boy (meaning black horse) & has a long history. Nice food here, presented well and a pleasant atmosphere. Staff reasonable amount of attention to the table taking orders and food arrival quite fast.

Pat was extremely friendly and helpful, prompted me to download the Greggs app which I wasn’t aware of and their demeanour improved my day :)

I ordered a pizza and it was received stone cold and the cheese smelt off. This was not a freshly made pizza. Disgusting and waste of money!

My wife and I saw an advert on our local community group saying this establishment was doing very good fish and chips for take away. On the group site people were saying this cost £7:50 each for fish&chips but you had to order in advance. My wife wife placed an order and on the other end of the phone it sounded like an old lady taking the order, she was very abrupt and wasn’t listening to what was being asked and just kept talking over what my wife was trying to ask. Anyway we eventually placed our order. When we arrived to pick it up my wife went into the side entrance and went to pay, the old lady was quite rude and said it was £8:50 each, when my wife said that on the local page it everyone was saying £7:50. She just brushed it off and said she didn’t know about that, my wife only had £15 in cash and as we had only ordered for 2 this is all she had. There were dogs running around the area as well not very hygienic. The price appears to change depending on who you are as my wife went back to the local group and the members are still saying they pay £7:50. First and last time using this pub takeaway the fish and chips were a small portion for the price.

Very very poor breakfast, most of the food was cold, asked for well done eggs eggs came out under done no napkins looked like the hand towels had come from the toliet, & staff should spend a Little less time talking out load, this is not the first time we have had a poor breakfast here free drink or not each month will be a long time before we go again,
