Dobbies in Wokingham

Very very poor breakfast, most of the food was cold, asked for well done eggs eggs came out under done no napkins looked like the hand towels had come from the toliet, & staff should spend a Little less time talking out load, this is not the first time we have had a poor breakfast here free drink or not each month will be a long time before we go again,

Took my mother and daughter to the cafe for Mothers Day afternoon tea. I received a call from Dobbies after I had booked it, the caller wanted to ensure they could accomodate me as I am a vegan. When we arrived on the day we had a warm welcome and were shown to our table. The table was layed and we were brought a lovely tier of sandwiches, scones and other delicious desserts. They even went and made me extra sandwiches. We were also all given a gift each. I will definitely be visiting again soon. I love spending time browsing the shop and outside plant area which has a great selection.

Dobbies have stopped doing their lovely cream scones, must be trying to save money. Went to have a coffee and decided to have a cream scone . Bad mistake instead we were given something which was sliced in two and filled with whipped cream and cheap strawberry jam ( no choice). Nothing like your original scone which was served with clotted cream and individual pots of jam, your choice.

We got turned away as we wanted to sit in restaurant to feed our baby. But we had a dog and the lady forcefully verbally demanded we leave immediately. Our poor baby desperately needed feeding and was hoping to have a relaxing visit . Ended up sitting in the car park on an ornamnetal cobweb covered chair to feed the baby. Will never go again. Some people should not be allowed to be employed with that attitude

Went to Dobbies today the 24th December for our Christmas lunch. The food was on time pipping hot and absolutely delicious. The staff all work extremely hard , we will definitely recommend this cafe to others.

Joined the queue at 11.15, by the time I was at the front I was informed that breakfast was no longer served (stops at 11.30). Had to go back to my table and recollect the orders and joined the back of the queue again. Drinks aren’t delivered to table, so had to wait whilst they were made. Took ages. Now I know why the queue’s so big. Food came quite quickly and was OK. Toastie was decent but the chips were undercooked and there was an eyelash in the coleslaw.. at which point I decided I needed to leave a review. Giving it two stars because portion sizes are good, and was fairly obvious that there’s some new staff who struggled to find their way around a coffee machine.

Had a wonderful Vegan afternoon tea in the cafe for birthday celebrations, unfortunately on the day we had originally booked there had been an issue and the kitchen was closed but the staff rebooked and refunded us and made sure when we returned we had a lovely time, we were given complimentary Prosecco and the vegan food was amazing, better than any other vegan afternoon tea I’ve had that were more expensive and in posh hotels! Great value for money highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff for making sure we had a lovely time.

An utter mess. Shameful. A real shame. Plenty of staff visable, I was the Only customer in the store and not one member of staff greeted me in any manner, shelves were disheveled, house plants very unhealthy looking, and the outside area looked derelict. Totally needs a overhaul, whether its simply the stores visuals and stock and/or its management.

Plenty to see! All the lovely colours of spring, polite and helpful staff and to top it all, we had a lovely dinner in the cafe. It was a nice way to spend a miserable, cold, wet and dreary afternoon.

We took my 18 month old son & 4 year old nephew to Hare Hatch Dobbies' Breakfast with Father Christmas event and it was brilliant! We each had a breakfast which was cooked well & a drink was included. There was a colouring sheet, crayons & a cracker on the table for each child & a Christmas card with our name on it as we arrived. They also received a chocolate star & there were tree decorations to make whilst waiting. The elf was amazing (I think she made the whole thing run smoothly) & came to chat with each child. When Father Christmas came, he was lovely & looked great. We got to choose a present (which included Duplo, Lego, Playmobil and other things) but they had run out of Duplo by our turn. However, the elf was quite happy to "run back to the sleigh" & get us one which was really kind. Would definitely recommend as a meeting Father Christmas experience.

We arrived at around 1pm to have a bite to eat and let the children have a play in the soft play area. We queued for around 10 minutes only to be told that food would take over 45 minutes as they needed to “catch up”. I wouldn’t have minded too much other than the fact there were only around 40 people in the restaurant/cafe area, some of which had clearly been there some time. When we then proceeded to order we were informed that 5 of the 8 options were unavailable, leaving ham, egg and chips, cod or chicken in bacon, so we ordered the chicken. Not surprisingly this took an hour and when it arrived was the poorest excuse of a meal I’ve seen since school some 30 years ago. Normally you’d expect a nice chicken breast wrapped in bacon. What we received was a very small piece of chicken with a large bone meaning the amount of chicken would have been equal to less than one would find in a sandwich from a supermarket! Served with a small portion of vegetables and all for £10. To say we were less than impressed would be an understatement.

Sat outside for coffee in the sunshine. Nice comfy garden furniture, tables recycled plastic. Nice cup of coffee.

Poor to non vegan selection and they don't know how to make a good coffee. Waitresses pulls faces and quite rude and non helpful

......I visited Dobbies for plants, primarily, as it’s a garden centre. Good selection of indoor and outdoor plants albeit coming to the end of the season. Not really interested in all of the other spin off non- garden merchandise. Did sign up for the club though where you earn points on spend, so it might well secure my loyalty, but probably not until Spring next year!

Called in to buy some plants decided to eat breakfast sadly bit of a mistake Chose the items I wanted And a coffee went and sat down waited for ages for 2 fried eggs when they arrived they where greasy and over cooked with broken yolk I was going to complain but was in a hurry having to wait Also the black pudding was dry To be honest the ingredients where all very poor seeing it has a butchers in store Wil not use again

Terrible service, horrific food. I only wanted a baked potato, it wasn't cooked and clearly wasn't even washed. No respect for dietary preferences either after putting a lump of unwanted coleslaw on my otherwise vegan plate. Really disgusting meal.

We quite often visit here on a run out with the motorbikes. The cafe is small but clean. The coffee and the cakes are good

We find dobbies very plesent the food is off quite a quality for what you pay they have offers on that are very good the staff are very pleasant and helpful we are there more than once a week xx

A handy place to eat or just have a hot drink, good choice menu hot or cold food fast friendly service and fair prices

Called at this Garden Centre to use the Cafe for Breakfast. This was very good, the food all very hot and ready to serve, hot drinks prepared for us while we made our breakfast selection. Reasonable prices, pleasant staff and fast service. We'll call again

Esta fue mi primera visita, el restaurante estaba ocupado.

En la desesperación después de un viaje muy muy mojado de Fareham encontramos este centro de jardinería. Probamos otro más cerca de Henley, pero no tenían comida para el almuerzo. Muy impresionado con mi enorme atún y chaqueta de patata con una gran cantidad de ensalada mixta en el lateral. Mi marido tenía un tostado de jamón y queso que parecía delicioso y muy agradable tarta de naranja y chocolate. La única crítica fue mi té, que era un sabor a bayas y casi no sabía nada, así que dejé la mayor parte, necesitan comprar bolsas de Berry de mejor calidad. Mi esposo tenía una bolsa Earl Grey que estaba llena de hojas y sabor.

The staff were so welcoming and had the table reserved. The selection of food was superb and tasty. A nice little out of the ordinary treat over a normal cup of tea and scone.

They have a good selection of plants staff are helpful and when I’ve been looking for plants that I can’t find in other centres I find that dobbies normally has them

Fuimos para el té y el pastel de té tostado ayer por la mañana. Consiguió pastel de té esperado edades para ser servido con té, luego se acusó mal en el momento en que lo corrigió los pasteles de té estaban fríos como la piedra, los platillos y la tetera estaban sucias. I came for afternoon tea with a friend and a toddler and we had the BEST time. The food was delicious and the presentation was just wonderful. We were looked after beautifully and the experience was a joy.

visited on the 2nd April for my wife's birthday, what can i say, when we arrived our table was already laid ready for us, we went to the counter and they were very observant they saw i had a printed email in my hand and immediately said " are you the 2.30 couple for afternoon tea. they asked what we wanted to drink and we sat down and they brought the drinks over, and then the food arrived which was out standing, there was so much we had to ask for a box to put some cake in to take home. well worth the money and would recommend to anyone who asked.

Visited with my sister the cafe was empty, after eating there l relize why. Food was terrible, dirty crockery and very run down furniture. Will not be going back there.

It’s a lovely little cafe where you could have a quiet lunch or even just a little sweet thing if you like even if you just want to go for a coffee or tea with a friend. Nothing wrong with the choices they have because it is a small little cafe and still nice to go there.

It is a bit grotty, we went for a late coffee and cake just after lunch, dirty tables, this is self service and the food on display looked far from edible. Very slow counter service from a young man who wasn’t really sure what he was doing it took ages to get a simple coffee.

Typical sort of food for a garden centre, the always seem to be short staffed and so a bit slow - but food is generally cooked well - we like the breakfast.

We were looking for a quiet place to eat, food menu is basic. Food was ok nothing to shout about. The staff seemed uninterested in serving us. Its a café in a garden centre.

Arrived too late for lunch menu so had a ciabbata which was dry, tasteless and expensive. Unhelpful staff. Nowhere near standard of other Dobbies I have been to.

The restaurant area in Dobbies Garden Centre, Shinfield ... looked fine and there were spare tables so we ordered our afternoon drinks and snacks. The coffees were just about okay but the 2 cakes we chose were far from it. The Chelsea Bun was dry and the iced bun looked like it had had a bite out of it and at £2.95 was over-priced.

Good selection, but nit that hot! Though well cooked. Cakes etc on par with any other garden centre - get the car washed and have breakfast and visit the farm shop - worthwhile trip

Siempre agradable para visitar, especialmente en la carrera de Navidad. Tengo un buen stock de plantas bien cuidadas (dentro y fuera) así como ollas de todos los tamaños, jardín, etc., juguetes algunos abonos para niños. Muebles de conservatorio, Tarjetas y libros, así como una agradable cafetería.

Paramos un par de panini después de un paseo. Estaba un poco lleno y nos avisaron que iba a ser de 30 minutos. En realidad sólo duró 20 y el panini era caliente y fresco. Sin embargo, la cola era lento moviendo la cola y todo el tiempo que el sábado. Hay un montón de personal, así que no estoy seguro de donde estaba el problema. El chico solitario limpiando las mesas estaba haciendo un gran trabajo.

This has to be one of the best garden centres in the area. Such a great choice of plants, gifts and furniture. Lovely tea shop and great farm food shop.

Needs more thought to those who are gluten free. I would like to have a salad or sandwich available. Staff always very nice and polite. The family always enjoy their sandwich or rolls.

This is a great garden centre with a reasonably priced cafe. Good stop for a nice cup of tea and piece of cake

No es el mejor la Dobbies que hemos estado pero la comida llena un vacío. La media de los precios y una cantidad media de población en las zonas principales. Volvería a ir de nuevo, pero probablemente no para comer.

Popped in for usual garden supplies and decided to have a cooked brekkie, not bad, very well priced, service a bit slow but ok, clean restaurant, toilets clean, plenty of parking, world of water at rear, good selection of plants, great farm shop. You can even get your car washed whilst you shop. Would recommend

Hemos estado en la Dobbies unas cuantas veces a lo largo de los años y la última vez que fuimos, nos decidimos no ir de nuevo. La selección de la comida era mala y la gente detrás del mostrador no era muy servicial. La comida ha sido bastante mala calidad ya que fue tomada.

Had a fruit scone and coffee. Coffee was poor with little taste. We sent the scone back as it crumpled into pieces while trying to butter it. Got a replacement which was worse. Very disappointed

Hemos estado dos veces. Cada vez que el personal era desatendido, lento, desinteresado. En ambas ocasiones se paraban para hablar, en vez de servir. tartas eran normales, un bollo estaba seco. Puede ser que ha superado nuestras visitas mal. Café estaba bien - super super climatizada. Por dentro las mesas están bien. Nada especial. Sándwiches aspecto normal. Parece que si vas a ciertas horas, el menú es limitado y corriendo corto de artículos.
