Great pub. Fantastic beer selection and service. Really really impressed with the food. Cooked perfectly, tastes amazing. Family friendly, the price reflects the experience. Its a 25 minute journey for me to get here and i am more than happy to make it a regular occurrence. The mix grill, chilli mogo, chilli lamb and butter chicken are standout for me. The naan is melt in your mouth. Also big screens available for the football

Our favourite Indian restaurant in Reading. Great food, ambience, ample parking and speedy service. The prices are very competitive. They also have an app for booking table or ordering takeaway.

Decided to visit for the first time for lunch with family. We received a warm welcome and were offered seating quickly and were also asked if it was okay. On sitting we immediately noticed the aroma of Indian food which definitely started a gastric juices flowing. Our drinks orders were taken and we proceeded to order the food. The first of which was a mixed grill for 3, this arrived in around 10 minutes and served on a sizzling iron platter. The worth of any mixed grill is how well the lamb chops are cooked, I’m pleased to say these were one of the most tender tandoori chops I tasted and set the tone for the rest of the items which were equally as good, especially my firm favourite, Dal Makhani. This was delicious, the right consistency that stick to your spoon without running everywhere. It was full of flavour and went down a treat with accompanying garlic naan, only point to note though was the naan I felt was on the smaller and thinner side, a slight negative. The Amritsari fish was coated in a light batter that literally melted in your mouth and was a hit with all the family. Equally the plate of papaddi chaat didn’t last which was still a decent portion for a starter and was adequate for 4 people. The chilli paneer wasn’t too chilli and had a nice blend of sweet and sour too with the sauce it came in. We came away suitably filled up and will be sure to pay a return visit as well as trying out their delivery service in the not too distant future.

The 6 Bells is a great mixture of pub and restaurant. The food is absolutely superb, best Indian food I've had in a long while, and the service from all the staff is polite, friendly and efficient. Really recommended.

Excellent flavoursome food. Staff were really friendly. The menu is 9 pages long which makes confusing if you don’t know what you like. Indian desserts are delicious.

Nice place, been here many times.. BUT … the portion size is awful not worth the £12.95 for a VERY small dish of curry.. service is great and a lovely clean place.. please just sort out your portion sizes!!!!!!…this has put me off coming back.

Really impressed with our experience at The Six Bells today. Service was prompt and professional with an attentive team who were very happy to answer questions. We ordered the mixed platter for starters and then a selection of tikka masala, biryani, butter chicken and chicken shashlik for main. We found each dish very enjoyable - full of flavour - and I particularly rated my biryani, which came as a large portion and was delicious. Biryani can sometimes be hit and miss but I really enjoyed The Six Bells version, which had plenty of lamb and plenty of spice (a winning combo!). Thanks for a great meal, and we'll be back soon!

I recently had my farewell lunch at 6 Bells Shinfield, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The blend of Indian and diverse cuisines was outstanding, offering something for everyone in our group. The food spread was brilliant—everything was incredibly tasty, and not a single dish was left over. The staff played a big part in making our experience so enjoyable. They were extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu, ensuring we didn't over-order, which we really appreciated. Their kindness and attentiveness added a special touch to the meal. Overall, it was a truly memorable last meal with my colleagues, and I couldn’t have asked for a better send-off. I absolutely loved it and would highly recommend 6 Bells Shinfield for any gathering!

The food was quick to come out of the kitchen, it was fresh, piping hot and very filling. The servers were nice and helpful, very lovely company. The atmosphere was serene, with soft seating. Overall a lovely day out from home.

Very tasty food on offer here at the Six Bells. Plenty of parking available and plenty of seats in the restaurant. Would highly recommend.

Came here with no expectations. It turned out to be astounding! One of the best Indians I’ve eaten in the UK. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was attentive and caring, and the atmosphere was what you’d expect at a pub. I liked that there was no music, you can hear the people you’re eating/speaking with so that was a plus.

So there I was, I finally made it to the long awaited six bells. Basically, Tank engine needed advice from Baddy because he's in a v sticky situation (literally). Parmz has caught feelings and tank engine is lost. The advice from Baddy was solid as he used his past experience of clarting from a young age. I'll keep you man posted once tank engine has done the deed (p.s. I hope she cries and goes into depression for life). The order was on point and Bally suggested pre order - she definitely meant a different type of pre order but we move I guess. The wings were a bit dead, the samosa Chaat was hidden under a swamp of yoghurt and I have to ask myself, did boss just dump the whole pot of yoghurt in??? He's definitely a bit autistic but honestly am used to it. Anyways, am a bit worried about Baddys boy and Raju - they both are prone to becoming simps and I have to ask myself, is this the last we will see of them??? Idk but will keep you all updated! 11/10 no gulab jamun cheesecake ;)

Every time we eat here we say that it’s the best meal we have eaten all year. Love the environment as well, we feel like we are part of an extended family when we come there. So excited to hear that they are opening in Wokingham soon! Best curry in town!!

We visited here a couple of months ago but I forgot to do a review. This is the nicest and best Indian restaurant in the area. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was great and the prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Inside its great with lots of space and a has a good range of drinks available. With lots of parking....go along and visit its lovely!

Went there on a Wednesday around 13:45, not v busy. They have good parking space, great interiors and ambience. For the summers coming they have good few tables on the porch area by the entrance. Food was very tasty and good choice on the menu. Great friendly staff 👍.

Just really cannot fault this place (but I'm still looking😃). So they have to keep up their standards. The food, the staff, the owners and the environment are excellent, just don't let anything slip below your current standards.

I ordered a lamb korma and asked 2 times to make sure it's zero spicy, no pepper, as I cannot eat spicy food at all, zero-tolerant to hot dishes. And still it came spicy as hell. "It's the least spicy thing on our menu". Why cannot they follow the request to cook it without pepper? Thanks, now I'm just hungry, eating bread, seating with my colleagues. Ideally ruined team-building. Upd: After I gave the review we were approached and suggested an English food menu which worked. But it should have been done from the very beginning. And at least when I told him I cannot eat it. Waiters apologized. Raising it now from 1 star.

The food here was incredible. I am not a lover of Asian cuisine but the food here was full of flavour and so fresh. We went at a lunch time and it was really quiet and not really an atmosphere but maybe it was the wrong time of day.

2nd visit and faultless! Lunchtime curry. Food is epic and serves one of the best Jalfrezi dishes I have found... Beer is good... Poppadoms were good, had to ask for lime pickle ut I guess its not everyones cup of lime pickle!. Naan's were good and chef full loaded it up with chillies as requested... Good grub, beer and service! Starters are huge, the lamb chops are bl00dy good and a lot of it. Chicken Lollipop was good and tasty as well

Indian restaurant / pub - very good service

I had book another Indian restaurant in Wokingham but we arrived to find out it was closed! We called Six Bells and they were able to fit us in and quite honestly it is the best food we have had. Everything was so delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant

Food tasty was ok, but didn't reach minimum expectations also. Quantity is very less and hit expensive.

Best restaurant for Indian food lovers.

Good food but pricey. £200 for 4 people, only soft drinks consumed. Including 10% top. Entrance for disabled persons wasn't open as not linked to restaurant, just pub, so you have to walk around to the front. Rice portions very generous so you could probably share with someone else and still have enough.

This restaurant is money grabbing scam DONT GO THERE AND DONT DO CORPORATE EVENTS THERE THEY ARE GREEDY !!!! If there was a minus 100 stars then that would be too much for them.

We had a 90 th birthday party here on Saturday. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended. Will certainly be going back.

Perfect place to host a large family gathering for a birthday celebration. We were shown to the private dining area upon arrival and was the perfect space for 30+ people. Staff are friendly and accommodating and food was excellent too!

Visited here for the first time last night with a family of 5.. was appalled at the service charge being added as standard and the prices were pretty high compared to portion size.. food was pretty bland and certainly wasn't up to the price tag.. better places for curry in reading than here..

This is our favourite curry takeaway - delicious food, plenty of vegetarian options, and fast delivery. We’ve ordered from here dozens of times, it’s always great, and we particularly recommend the saags. Thanks for delivering to us promptly even when there were roadworks outside our house!
