Cannot rate atmosphere as we had a delivery. However, service and food were fantastic. Would recommend and will enjoy again when we are back in the area.

We ended up visiting here on a Tuesday night. There was only a handful of people in the entire restaurant and yet the service was incredibly slow. Our mains were okay but the ice cream was not a good choice, as it looked like it had been there a while.

Best Indian restaurant in Reading. The service and the food its amazing. Strongly recommend this place

We were staying in Reading for few days though give this restaurant a try my kids are really fussy with food normally but they loved it in this restaurant customer service was very good food was amazing will definitely recommend I will definitely will be back Thank you guys 😊

Back again, as always out standing food, once you taste the fresh nam, the papadums great crisp to them. Bombay potato just right. The main meals so fragrant, 3 dimensional in taste, once you know you know. Never had a better Indian takeaway. If you’re looking for the authentic taste you can do no better. Lord Choseley and Viscount Bridgman highly recommends this establishment👍

A Great way to start the year with our ultimate favourite Indian takeaway! Authentic, full of flavour, tender meat, good portion sizes and great customer service as always! Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

We have ordered takeaway in the past but came here to eat in for the first time for Valentine’s Day. We had a lovely evening. The staff were very attentive on arrival and the food was very tasty. Generous curry portion sizes so we took our food home. We had a complementary box of chocolates which was a nice touch. The only improvement could be attentiveness during the meal/to pay. Will hopefully be back soon.

Ordered at 6pm and didn’t arrive till 8:15 called up at 7 and they said the driver was on his way clearly not will not be ordering again

I’m Indian and I am not a fan of excessive sugar in my dinner. I ordered a garlic nan today and the sweet taste of sugar in the nan over powered the garlic. Guys you’re good cooks, but pack away the sugar! Please! You don’t need it in every dish…

Visited on Xmas day. 5 of us were looked after exceptionally well despite being late. Food was some of the best we’ve had. Would totally recommend

Ordered our food online while travelling home from London and requested it be delivered at 20:00. We then had a phone call from the restaurant saying that the driver was outside our house trying to deliver our food an hour earlier than the time we had requested it?! To which we reminded them that we were in fact not home yet and asked them again if it could be delivered at 20:00. It then passed 20:00 and we called the restaurant to chase up where our food was as we was worried they had completely cancelled our order! We were told that the driver was out delivering our food ‘now’ so it would arrive ‘any minute’. Also need to mention that the person who we spoke to on the phone was extremely rude & blunt with us. We live not even 5 minutes away from the restaurant and ended up waiting almost an hour for our food to be delivered! Not happy at all with this service and will definitely not order takeaway from here again.

Collected an order from Miah’s, excellent customer service and the food was delicious and fresh. Highly recommend visiting here. The atmosphere and decor is fantastic so dining in is also a great option.

We have just had the most delicious takeaway from Miahs, the owner was so friendly and kind, the service was exceptionally quick and the food was piping hot and delicious, very reasonably priced so would definitely recommend to anyone 😊

Disappointing overall. We used to dine here fairly frequently and loved the food & staff. We've only ever ordered delivery once and it was late and cold. We thought we would try it again and this time delivery was super fast (caught us out) like less than 22 mins from ordering and we are in Arborfield. Food was definitely hot and well packaged but the curries were disappointing. My Lamb Tikka Masala was huge but mostly sauce. There were about 6 bits of lamb and they were all very dry and chewy. My wife had a Korma and rather than creamy it was gloopy and almost looked liked baby food in colour. Very little veg in it. We used to love their Sag Paneer but again very little paneer and very little spinach. Less creamy more gloopy. Everything else was fine but when the main dishes are bland, just sauce not meat / veg then it kinda ruins the whole experience. Such a shame but we won't be giving them a 3rd chance as seems like corners cut with the food to save money.

It is a 25 mile drive each way for us to visit Miahs Spencers Wood so we go on special occasions and it never disappoints. Well worth the journey

I first ordered food from here NYE 2021 and we loved it! We were back in Reading for NYE 2022 and ordered again. The food was just as good!!! It arrived hit, was tasty and truly hot the spot! AVOID AT ALL COST HAIR IN FOOD absolutely disgusting customer service Ordered for home delivery , order arrived late . Started eating then found a very long hair , then upon complaing was offered a very random £1.60 . No Thankyou , this so called restaurant should be closed down immediately.

Went there Saturday night with my partner staff greeted with a friendly smile found every member very friendly and helpful food was spot on absolutely lovely bearing in mind I visited another Indian the night before that had a very good rating and to be honest I much prefer this one I shall definitely be coming back when in the area again. Rubbish food. Every gravy tasted exactly same . Meat extremely raw. When called them to share the feedback they responded saying next time we will give you 10% discount. Who in their right mind will go to them again. Never ever ordering from them in future.

The food was late, all of it was cold and we were missing a Chicken Shashlik. The Lamb Shashlik was tough with hardly any peppers but loads of onions. I've no idea what the random lamb dish we didn't order was or the pots of dips that arrived. We ordered online and the receipt that arrived was correct but the food wasn't.

Just a fabulous meal again tonight. Lovely food but manager knew what drinks we would order, only been back there a few times recently. Doggy bag to take home all the food we couldn't eat! Perfect.

We turned up and the first thing as soon as we walked in served bottles of beers then the manager continued to top up my glass with beer without asking then asking countless times do you want another beer which we declined. After the meal chilling the manager came across insisting to lift up our glasses to remove the table cloth even before we were ready to leave. The best bit we requested the receipt. The receipt came and written so badly you could not know what you were charged for but added a massive service charge without informing us. We asked for a copy of the receipt for expenses but refused so we had to take a picture using from our mobile. In summary below average food, a manager with no manners to his customers and don't recommend this place. Go somewhere where they appreciate your custom

It was my first visit to Miah's - the food was excellent, I will definitely go back.

Tonight we went to Miah's Spencer Wood for a family get together. The whole experience from when we were greeted at the door was 5 Star.....if I could give them 6 Stars I would! The quality and flavour of all the dishes was authentic and tasty. The staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted. We were treated to a special dessert, which was heavenly and reminded me of previous visits to India. We always go back to Miah's and you should too if you want to have authentic Indian dishes.

Would not recommend Miah’s Spencer’s Wood. The food took over an hour and a half to arrive when it arrived they forgot two of the items and the rest were cold with layers of skin on the top after being sat under a heat lamp - image below. The food was also tasteless and plain (not what you’d expect from an Indian restaurant) Two of their staff were lovely and helpful but sadly one of their staff was rude and aggressive and really ruined it for them (the guy pictured below) He was rude abrupt and failed to listen when taking the order, he also got very aggressive when questioned about items on the menus and how certain deals work. To add insult to injury after hearing how unhappy we were they then had the audacity to ask for a 15% service charge. (On the way our spoke with another table and they echoed the same issues) On top of all of this the place was filthy and noticed them re-filling the chutneys back up when clearing the table (that a two year old from our party had put his fingers in) they then left these on the side. Along with this review I’ve reported them to the local Environmental Health Officer as well as licensing.

The food has definitely improved recently, although it was always good. The young man who served and cleared away our things was very polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the person in charge on the night we were there was rude and his attitude to us as paying customers was not appreciated.

Our go to for date night as is by far the best Indian restaurant and takeaway in reading. The food, service and choice is top notch. We regularly visit and every time the visit is flawless and food exquisite. Would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

The chicken shahee passanda is a common order for us, we usually manage to split one between 2 as it's reasonably generous (with rice and naan). Usually calling ahead to collect, the staff are pretty efficient and have it ready in the time stated.

The food is great, nice atmosphere and not over attentive staff which we appreciated... Where they let themselves down we feel is leaving us with the feeling that we have been overcharged with the bill... Scribbled hand written summary of what we had with a total amount (not itemised)...We should have asked to see a menu to compare how the total was arrived at but we didn't.. Only after returning home and discussing our experience did we both agree that what we ordered shouldn't have come to the total we were asked to pay!..Now instead of remembering good things about the meal, we were now only thinking about feeling we had been over charged which is a shame...We tried contacting them afterwards by email to view our concerns and give them the opportunity to make things right but unfortunately we were not afforded the courtesy of their reply... The sad thing is we really liked the place and this wasn't our first visit... Now we're afraid of being over charged again so unfortunately we won't be returning.. If only they had replied...

Really great food; really long wait for it to be delivered but worth it.

Ordered a delivery online for 6.30pm and at 7.45 we are still waiting. The worst delivery and excuses I've ever experienced. At 6.30 recieved a message to say it was enroute and we are a maximum of 15 mins from restaurant. Will not ever take the chance on this restaurant ever again, usually good food but no good if it doesn't arrive..

Used to be a great place to eat, with good food. Booked a table, when we arrived there was a queue to be seated, 15 mins later, after seeing many frustrated customers, both for sitting in and takeaway, we decided to leave, more staff needed, and don't take on more than you can deliver. Such a shame.

The restaurant looks lean and tidy. I found the food very mild to a western taste.

Where do I start ..? Shinfield based.....Called at 708 on a Monday.. simple order 2 curries and a naan. Told 30 mins. Called after 45 told with delivery guy and 30 mins should not have been told, should be 1 hr total time. 1hr 25 later countless calls to vm or engaged...Still no food.. now having to go there to get money back. DONT offer Delivery if you CANNOT offer a decent service!!! Appalling!!!

New to the area, so thought give these guys a try. Have now been waiting nearly 3 hours for our delivery. If you call then be prepared to hear the engaged tone alot!!!! Did get answered about an hour ago, said driver was delivering it very soon.....I am 15 minutes away from the restaurant. Can't comment on the food AS NOTHING HAS ARRIVED AND IT COST ME £64.00!!!!!!!!!

Have to say we really enjoyed our meal we collected last night. Don’t think we will return to our usual Indian takeaway as this was really lovely ! Even tho it’s a half an hour drive away from us to collect… it’s worth it and that says it all!

Great service by Ash. Absolutely outstanding quality of food. We ordered the lamb biryani and the meat literally melts in your mouth. The flavours are out of this world. Generosity was impressive as they offered us more naan bread on the house. Will certainly return...

In very plan and simple terms , it was unfortunately not a good experience. The food was definitely the best part of our visit but the attitude of a certain male member of staff made the experience awful , he was rude very inpatient and incredibly unpleasant to have serve us. It’s a shame too that every customer we could hear being very unhappy with being told one thing and then another happens. This Miahs was certainly not good time for us to enjoy a night out. I would say order and not come in but I’ve also heard that the ordering process is unbelievable too ! Do not come here or order here.

Absolutely amazing! Our favourite local place to eat in and take away from. We’ve been their customers for years now and every time we’re in, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is fantastic. Try it if you haven’t already!

The food was good but the service was poor, it was because they were short staffed hence my rating of 'ok'. The attitude of one of the waiter that served us wasn't great...but then there wasn't many tables (myself and one other in his section). The drinks the food and even the card machine all took longer than you would generally expect. But hey if the service isn't an issue the food was good.

Charged £20 for my takeaway. Checked menu after. Should have been £17.85. I was going to wait, but was asked to leave and come back later. What I had usually costs less than £15 elsewhere, so for £20,i expect something really good. I drove around the corner and ate in the car, about 2 minutes after being given my food, so it should have been hot! Sheekh kebab was thin, tasteless and Luke warm Chicken Tikka... Tiny portion, not very tasty and almost cold Keema naan was Luke warm. This should have Mince meat in. I struggled to find any. I opened it up and it was like someone had brushed food dye on the inside. The Mince was so thin, I just wasn't Mince meat! Terrible! Won't consider returning!

A couple of previous experiences with very average food( admittedly some time ago) made me avoid Miahs,but a friend and I picked up a takeaway just before closing and the guys serving were extremely friendly and the food was excellent. Certainly would have again when staying in the area.

Fantastic curry house, food tastes really fresh. The 3 stars is for the one experience we had eating in where we didn’t get served for over an hour so we ended up leaving. The place was busy but with the amount of seat they have in their they should cut down if they can’t handle that capacity.

Ordered tonight £76 worth of food rang the order at 18:34 he said it would be 40mins for collection a hour and 15mins for delivery so we chose the 40mins for collection my husband got there when it had been 45mins and still waited in the restaurant to collect the food after almost a hour. I rang the restaurant to see what the hold up was as I was getting fed up of waiting he told me that he had given the food to my husband and a free bottle of Prosecco so I waited another 15mins and my husband still hadn’t returned home my husband rang to say he still hadn’t been given the food. I will never order from here again!

Food arrived 45 minutes earlier than requested. Chicken tikka was swimming in oil, so much for grilled in a tandoori oven! The lentil dish was sloppy like a soup and the poppadoms were stale. Extremely dissappointed.

I found the staff at Miah's incredibly rude and condescending. I had ordered for my wife and kids on the phone to collect. They said to arrive in 45 minutes, to which I did only to wait another hour when I got there. Several other customers were served before me so they clearly had mucked up my order. But it was when I enquired about my order that I was most disgusted with their service. The gentleman behind the counter ushered me to sit down by physically pushing me to the bench. He talked over me and didn't listen to me, and was made to feel like I was doing something wrong. Needless to say, I haven't gone back in the 4 years since. They may have good food but their manners and common human curtesy have much room for improvement.

Fantastic Indian cuisine and great service. Whether eating in or take-away the food is always fresh and ample quantities.

We visited this restaurant after spending some time at Red Kangaroo trampolining (Reading as well). The food menu is well laid out, we ordered the lamb shank, Murgh Mulai (I think) and Seekh kebab with chicken tikka as a take out for my daughter (she liked it but thought the spices were a bit bland). The food was good, coupled with a nice, clean friendly environment with friendly professional staff. I always judge a restaurant's cleanliness by the state of the restaurant's toilets and that passed with flying colours as they were very clean. Pity about the hand dryer that seemed as if it had been bought on the cheap. That is always my pet hate about Indian restaurants as they spend so much on the decor but seem to think they must save money and buy the cheapest hand dryer and soap they possibly can. Our expectation is to visit and have proper soap, not Certex handwash (less than a pound anywhere).

I went for a celebration with my wife. Consistant great personal friendly service, white table cloth presentation that added to a lovely atmosphere. You can tell there is immense pride taken in the business and that they value their customers going out of there way to ensure you have a wonderful evening. Of course also the food is incredible and tastes levels above what you get many places. I highly recommend miahs and will be going again soon with family.

Decent food, and the waiters are hit or miss. One of them is extremely cold and rude and clearly not a fan of children or families. Another is exceptionally kind and playful with children. The prices however feel extremely high and each time I leave I end up double checking all the prices as I feel it couldn't possibly have cost that much.
