Quaint, cosy pub with a large garden seating area.

Stopped here for a drink whilst exploring the area. Great pub garden at the rear. It does look closed and I think they may get more business if they make the entrance door a bit more welcoming.

Birthday gathering with a mix of friends, family, and kids. Staff were really accomodating and friendly; space, both inside and out, was ideal; pizza was amazing. We will be back soon. Thank you for helping my celebrations run smoothly.

We booked The Waggon and Horses for my partners birthday. We had a fantastic night! The team couldn’t have been more helpful if they tried, fresh pizza’s straight out of the oven and an amazing atmosphere. So lucky to have this pub just down the road. You all made his birthday one that he is going to remember forever. Thank you all SO much, see you soon!

Great pizza in a quirky and friendly place.

Good pizzas during the week. I had a special for Sunday lunch Boulongers-slow cooked lamb, potatoes and mixed veg. Absolutely fabulous and I was so full that I couldn't manage a sweet! The customers around me appeared to be enjoying the traditional roast

A great pub for this small village. Staff are friendly and approachable, great selection of drinks. The food is amazing. We had the Lamb Boulanger last night and it was so flavourful and tender. The landlord truly cares about the food and how his customers enjoy their meals and experience at the wagon. I throughly recommend

The Sunday roast in this pub is an absolute rip off the roast was microwaved the roast potatoes were pink in the middle and cold leftover from yesterday they make you pay first because its so bad £20 each for lunch I left and expressed my concern politely but never again !! #ripoffbritainstung !!

Walk the dog round the lake and then stop here for a pint. Very nice pub with friendly staff. You can park in the pub car park for free while you walk the dog as long as you call in.

Great hour or two spent on a damp Friday afternoon with a couple of glasses of Shiraz and chin wagging with the landlord. Great pub and will be back for more. Especially as they do live music.

Beautiful old looking place and good staff

Lovely little pub that backs on to some beautiful wildlife walks around lakes. I didn't have any food there but I did stop for a half Insch (cider) the service was friendly and kind. Definitely worth a visit and a nice walk in the weekend.

What a lovely, quaint pub that backs onto the Loddon Nature Reserve .. and the food today was decidedly yummy...bbq on a lovely summer's day. My friend had pork slovakia and I had a beef burger and salad. Inexpensive, good quality food and the service was top notch with a smile. I happened to mention I fancied some ice cream and a deliciously wicked bowl of triple choc ice cream materialised. Will definitely be back... oh and bring the kids because the back garden is a child's paradise including a sqwonky house 🏠.

Fantastic pub, run by a great family ! Me and my family of 3 kids, age 9,8 and 3 months Are always welcomed and always looked after along with our dogs also! Richard and the guys and girls cook great food and always a great day out with a massive garden and play area.

This is a beautiful old building next to the nature reserve. Unfortunately, the food was seriously not up to standard, some bits not even hot and odd flavours. The carrots 🥕 had not been topped and tailed and were dirty. No pepper and salt 🤦 I presume you have to ask for it.. And there was only one vegetarian option. The drinks were served by the server holding them with his fingers around the top of the glass, that for me is a no no. Very disappointing 😕

We booked to eat on mother's day. What a wonderful experience. The food was beautiful, the owners, staff and general atmosphere was lovely and couldnt be more friendly. Can't wait to come back.

We come here on Wednesday nights for the pub quiz and we love the place. The owner Richard and his team are lovely and it's a beautiful old pub in the British countryside. We are hoping to come and enjoy the food properly sometime!

A pub with loads of character and charm. The owners and locals were really friendly and helpful. We visited on a Saturday so it was artisan pizza day! Delicious. Totally recommend.

We had been here on a Saturday night with their Live Rock band music in winter time last year. It seemed they're mostly local family attendees. The staff were so attentive and welcoming. We had such a good time.

As pubs should be! Top ales unfussy inside with a beautiful rear garden complete with wonky house for the children. Also parakeets! Take (drag) your kids round the beautiful and interesting Loddon reserve ( we photographed Herons, black caps tufted ducks Canada geese and the extremely elusive Cetti Warbler amongst others). Promise them a drink bag of crisps with a play in the wonky house after whilst you review your photos. Perfect afternoon!

Took my mother and bother to this pub for a mother's day meal, booked in advance for 1pm Sunday the 27th March 2022. On arrival we made our selves known to the staff, we were then told that the only table for us was on the patio area outside which we said we are not happy about as it was cold out, the manager seemed uninterested and made no attempt to offer an alternative so on that note we left very unhappy with the pub and manager. Will not be going in there again

Love this place. Always my go to as first pub in Twyford. And the garden is massive. Summer time drinking at its best.

Used to be a great place to go for blues/pub rock on the last Sunday of the month. Sadly Landlord has cancelled it. Still a beautiful old pub and food is good but wish they still hosted the music sessions.

This is one of the finest pub/restaurants I have ever been in, the food and drink are beautifully presented. Compliments to the chef and all the staff. I would definitely recommend this premises for all . They have an amazing garden and the interior is beautiful. It is advisable to reserve. We have once again had a fantastic time at the Waggon and Horses. Richard, Lisa, Stuart and their team are truly a credit to the catering industry. Always a warm welcome, excellent service, wonderful beverages, fantastic food and very reasonably priced. Well done all keep up the good work.

Richard, the landlord of the Waggon and Horses, was kind enough to allow us to have our wedding reception at the pub. The Waggon and Horses team played a huge part in making our day a success. They provided a top notch service, the venue itself was perfect, the food and drink was fantastic and everybody had a brilliant day. Richard, Stuart and all of the staff always extend a warm welcome to anybody that pops in and we would happily recommend the Waggon & Horses to anybody, whether that be just for a drink, a pizza, or Sunday BBQ/roast. We will certainly be heading back soon!

Too bad they close one hour before their official closing time. While at least 15 people where inside at the time we arrived 23h00 they would not let 2 guys enter the pub for a beer.

Today we had a wonderful experience the food was incredible and the service was great. The toilets were not 100% however when I spoke to the owner he made it a priority to see to it. Highly recommend. We can’t wait to return

We came to the Waggon and Horses for dinner, as we were looking for somewhere in Twyford at quite short notice. Luckily they had a table for us and we were able to try their homemade pizzas, which were delicious. The service was attentive, the food was great and the outside areas were nice and spacious, if we're ever in Twyford, we'd definitely come back.

Covid safe and nice beer and pizza.

Just had a fantastic take away pizza from The Waggon. We both had extra toppings and was ready to collect in 1/2 hour. Really tasty and beautifully cooked. 5 stars from us!!

Great pub... space hoppa is a magic pint.

The pizza is delicious. Their garden is very spacious. There are lots of tables to choose therefore social distancing is not issue.

Good pub with well kept beer, a great garden and pleasent staff. A lovely real fire in the winter (pre covid... hope they can do it again..).

Cliché alert but saved the best to last. Just moved to the area and thought a mini-tour of the local pubs was in order. There are three as far as I can see. Within 5mins of each other. I visited the other two first. Nothing bad to say about either of them. In fact they were fab. For me though, this place won the day. Seriously impressed by the Covid attentiveness on the door. This continued through to well organised and attentive staff inside. Also, nice touch. They wedge the toilet doors open so you don't have to touch the icky handles! Kudos to the boss, her/his crew are very good. Anyway. Meant to stay for one, ended up having two. Food menu is limited to Pizza until Sunday when there's a roast, which I'll check out tomorrow. Kinda get it though as not much passing trade here. Rather they not order buckets of perishable stuff that may go to waste, environmentally. Music taste suits me. Engaged employees from the looks of it too. Good job guys.

Este pub tiene un ambiente tan seguro y merece reconocimiento en todos los sentidos por su cumplimiento de Covid - 19 ?. . . He estado en algunos pubs desde el 4 de julio, ¡pero estos chicos se lo toman muy en serio y realmente te cuidan de principio a fin! Me encuentro con algunos viejos amigos cuando solíamos beber en este pub cuando todos vivíamos en la zona hace 20 años y fue una gran experiencia con un toque de nostalgia. Todo el personal fue excelente, amable y, lo más importante, sonrió todo el tiempo que nos atendieron. . claramente administrado correctamente y todos saben lo que están haciendo, lo cual es un hallazgo raro en estos días. Así que todo lo que puedo decir es gracias a todos por una velada tan agradable y felicitaciones por hacer un gran trabajo en estos tiempos tan difíciles. ¡Lo recomiendo encarecidamente a cualquiera que desee experimentar un pub seguro! Mi esposa y yo visitamos este antiguo pub encantador hoy. Muy impresionado con las precauciones de Covid en todo momento. Servicio de mesa a cargo del atento personal.Pedimos una pizza cada uno, una buena selección de ingredientes disponibles. Llegaron en cajas de cartón individuales y reciclables, bien calientes y listas en rodajas. Guau, fueron algunas de las mejores pizzas que hemos comido. La base, siempre señal de una buena pizza, era perfecta como el resto.fue una velada encantadora y mostró el hermoso jardín. Recomendamos encarecidamente este pub.

¡Tuve la peor experiencia de mi vida en este pub! Después de tener la semana del infierno, pensé en salir a tomar un trago rápido para animarme. Acababa de agradecer al propietario, Richard Burns, creo que por dejarme pasar de los baños ya que iba lento después de un accidente automovilístico. Luego me siguió hasta mi mesa, me preguntó si podía hablar y delante de unos 20 clientes me acusó de fumar cannabis. Cuando dije que no, dijo que no me creía, así que le dije de nuevo que tuve un accidente automovilístico y el resto de mi semana desde el infierno mientras ahora estaba llorando y vaciando mi bolso para demostrar que soy anti. drogas y señaló a amigos que estaban allí y que también podían decírselo, pero me dijeron que no necesitaba vaciar mi bolso y que él no les preguntaría y se levantó y regresó al pub. Los culpables se fueron y poco después terminé mi bebida y me fui.¡El propietario estaba afuera y trató de disculparse porque se equivocaron de persona! ! ! ! ¡De Verdad! La disculpa debería haber sucedido directamente, ya que nunca debería haber sido acusado en primer lugar, demostró que no era yo y era obvio quiénes eran los culpables.

Lovely roast dinner, pre COVID.

Recientemente organicé una bebida de cumpleaños en Waggon & Horses con poca antelación para unas 20 personas.Llegué para que me tomaran la temperatura y los datos de contacto antes de que me llevaran a un conjunto de mesas que habían sido reservadas para nosotros en una bonita zona del hermoso jardín.El servicio de mesa era absolutamente excepcional, todo el personal era educado y amable, mientras que nada era un problema. En un momento, algunos vasos se rompieron accidentalmente, pero todo se manejó de manera eficiente y con un mínimo de alboroto. Las pautas de COVID se siguieron al pie de la letra de la ley, por lo que se sintió un entorno muy seguro para nosotros.He vuelto desde entonces y la experiencia fue igual de agradable. La segunda vez disfruté especialmente de las pizzas que son muy recomendables.Todos pasamos una noche fabulosa y me gustaría dar las gracias a Richard, Caroline, Stuart y al equipo por hacernos sentir tan bienvenidos. El servicio fue excelente y nada fue un problema.Para cualquiera que se dirija a Twyford, recomendaría ampliamente el Waggon & Horses. Un fantástico pub local con excelente comida en un ambiente seguro.

First time visit but the welcome and service was so warm. We were made to feel safe immediately with their amazing social distancing measures; hand sanitiser, temperature checks, table service. We had a few beers and some incredible homemade pizza, and despite being busy the staff still gave great personal service! Can’t wait to come back again soon!

Love this beautiful country pub, the table service was unfaltering and we ordered delicious home made pizza which is served all week. Pizza was beautifully made and delivered to our table with a beautiful smile, albeit through a face mask! Fantastic service, brilliant food all set in a lovely secluded garden! We have just had the most wonderful experience at Waggon and Horses, Twyford.I was going to say most wonderful meal but it was far more than that, yes the food was wonderful but the ambiance of the bar and the friendly atmosphere created by every staff member made this one of the most enjoyable places I have ever eaten out at.The owner, Richard, worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect for us in every way and after chatting with him and realising the hours of work and sacrifice himself and his family have made to ensure everyone of their guests has a fantastic experience I would say people that have the audacity to give anything less than a first class review really need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask themselves if they could perform to anywhere near the standard and put in a fraction of the effort this guy does.Thank you again to Richard and the team at Waggon and Horses it’s a 10/10 from me and my family.Keep up the great work.

Spent new years eve here bringing in the new year. Absolutely blinding atmosphere. Everyone was friendly, choice of ales good couldn't fault the place. Landlord looked happy and mucked in and mingled. Happy New year we will be back

Very strange pub which doesn’t serve coffee.Why?They must get asked for it all the time. We went for drinks with friends.All ok until 9 .45 when the bell was rung for last orders. We thought this was very early so were confused. In the next half hour groups of people came in and were served without question so it seemed the early bell had been aimed at us. Finally the music was turned up so loudly you could not hear what people were saying. Had enough by now so left. Won’t be returning.

Genuine. They try hard and succeed at what they do. Straight forward. Good value. Honest cooking. Classic improved pub food. Friendly.
