Lovely. We popped in and managed to get a table. The open sandwiches are stunning, the wine was perfect. Not overly expensive and lovely kind service. The other customers were nice, it was buzzy but not too noisy to chat and relax.

The thing is, this is charming. The location, the garden, the vibe. Just lovely. However, it gets very busy. The outside bar is genius but far from efficient. If you don't mind just going with the flow and accepting that the service isn't perfect, you will enjoy delicious food, well served drinks in a quintessential English pub garden.

Really like the refurbishment. Unfortunately not nearly enough staff on and they stopped food orders at 1.30pm on a Friday despite advertising lunch until 3pm. They just couldn't cope. Also didn't tell the long line of customers queueing they were stopping food orders.

Just a short walk from it's own mooring, this adorable pub is a pleasant ramble around the bend from Remenham. Not the biggest car park (but honestly why would you) the place is small inside but with a good sized garden out back, perfect for drinking and eating delicious well cooked food whilst red kites perform acrobatics over head. A little on the pricey side; but worth it I think: my flower pot burger was brilliant and the chips were exactly right. Toilets nice and clean, smelling fresh, with quirky artwork.

Close access to The Thames brought us here. We stayed two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The bedroom was light and airy, the meals delicious. Recommendations are the cooked breakfast and bouillabaisse starter. Will and the team are hospitable and we felt very welcome. Not much beats sitting by a log fire with a drink in hand after a day on the river. Thank you!

Booked some weeks ago for Easter Sunday lunch, a table for 4 people at 14.00. When we arrived, quarter of an hour early and very prepared to have drinks in the garden, it was quickly evident that our table had been given to another party who were in the middle of their meal. We were offered, and had no choice but to take, an unlaid table in the bar, sandwiched between the constantly opening door and the lavatories. We queued for our drinks at the chaotically-staffed bar as no-one ever came to take our order. We elected to eat quickly and leave as the leisurely lunch we had planned was no longer possible and our mood had been ruined. We ordered 4 roasts; one chicken, one lamb and two pork. The waiter, after trying hard to upsell starters, cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding got our order wrong and had a few goes at it. The food, when it arrived, was pretty good, but the constant chair banging, door opening, hand-dryer-roaring, made it unacceptably unpleasant. We declined puddings and asked for the bill, which again, was wrong. Starters are £15-ish, mains £25+, puddings £10-ish. A horrible experience which we wont repeat.

Came here for lunch while doing a walk from Henley and back. Gorgeous setting, and the pub garden would be idyllic on a warmer day. We were 2 families, 8 in total and had booked a table. Service was very stretched when we first arrived and it took a long time to get menus and food ordered. Other people were also waiting. The welcome wasn’t very warm with both bar and table staff seemingly very stressed. However, once we’d got through the long wait for food things picked up - food was very good and seemingly the stress on the staff must have eased as they got much more friendly. I think we must have just hit them at peak lunch rush or they were short staffed. Given the food quality and setting I will return, but I hope next time the waiting staff are less stretched and a bit friendlier.

Most of everything which made a wonderful quirky, old Pub with all the taxidermy etc appears to have gone. Such a shame. It really didn't need 'modernising' and already looks dated. Just another 'shabby chic' pub with zero charm.

We celebrated our Golden Wedding anniversary at the Flower Pot Hotel with our three adult daughters. What a fantastic choice for our special celebration! Will and the team made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Our rooms were furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. The dinner menu provided ample choice for us all and the food was freshly prepared and delicious. We enjoyed drinks and bbq in the pub garden and a 10 m-minute stroll took us to the banks of the River Thames and the start of a lovely walk. Two nights here allowed us to explore nearby Henley and Marlow. We loved it all.

We walked to the pub which is in a good location for walkers. On this occasion we only wanted tea and cakes. The tea was ordered but no tea bag’s were put in the pot just hot water. No milk bought out. Cake was overpriced and not even good. We had to keep asking for basic things that should have been served with what we’ve ordered. Customer service was poor and no apology given when it was addressed. Shame as we came a few months ago in the summer and was fine but this was enough to for us not to come back unfortunately.

It’s about 15 years since I’ve been to the Flower Pot and it’s now much smarter, but still as lovely. We had lunch on a Saturday in the Garden Bar. Food was good, my friends said it was a good choice of pub. I had a tasty pulled pork burger, stuffed with a slice of cheese, pickles etc and the most excellent fat chips on the side. The pub is away from the main road, so you’d have to know that it’s there. I liked the atmosphere. It was gastropub type food and service, with tables bookable, but still had a group of local regulars drinking pints at the bar and watching the rugby. Comments here that service was slow. Our food arrived promptly and we were happy not to have the bill presented as soon as we’d finished. Lots of chatting to be done and nice not to be hurried out. No service charge on the bill which is very unusual now. Waiter seemed happy with the tip we added.

Faced with our first free weekend in a while, we booked the Flower Pot for Saturday afternoon strolling by the river followed by supper. We dropped the car in the big car park, checked in and walked to Henley along one of the most picturesque stretches of the Thames. Being England in November, we got caught in heavy rain and returned as drowned rats. Hung our wet coats by the roaring fire and settled in to watch the rugby. Lunch was super busy but when we came down (changed into dry clothes after great hot showers) the evening was quieter with a few locals and people staying or just in to eat. Our food was fantastic; lots of big prawns in the seafood linguine and my cheeseburger burger with pulled pork was epic. Great advice on the wine choice of a decent but not overly expensive Rioja. The cask ale is expertly kept and perfectly served. After a great night’s sleep we only had space for the continental breakfast, washed down with excellent coffee. Really big shout out to Will and the team who were fantastic hosts from start to finish. A absolute gem tucked in by the river. Love all the fishes. Tim & Charlotte 🙂🙂

A Hidden Gem Near the Thames – The Flowerpot at Aston Ferry I've visited The Flowerpot several times now, and it never disappoints. The location, just a short walk from the Thames, gives it a wonderful charm that feels like a peaceful retreat close to the river. This was our fifth visit since it has been upgraded by the new management. Food is lovely, but when the sun shines, the service and length to wait for food to arrive is poor! Arrived at 1.30 pm for a booking in the restaurant and waited until 3.00 for starters and mains at 4.00. Everyone was waiting for food in the restaurant for orders, as they seem they cannot cope with the restaurant, bar and then the added garden orders when the sun shines. It is disappointing that this has not improved since our last visit in June. The staff are good and keep apologising but when you have had a nice walk with children, they are hungry.

We have visited this place for years, that is before and after the refurbishment. It is true that the quirky and eccentric old place has gone which is a pity, but its been replaced by a venue that really takes quality as its main aim and for us, it reached it today. My only little grumble was despite the day being unseasonably mild outside, it was quite chilly in the restaurant (although a beautiful log fire purred away in the bar) For those who grumble about waiting for the food (a real issue in a limited such hour), maybe go and get a Big Mac. But I had time and prefer fresh quality food so didn't mind waiting

Nothing special, but really got to me that they are that snooty that they did not even have the decency to respond to a personal job application. Well if you like that sort of snobbery this is right up your street. EDIT: the thing is YOU had no decency, so as is indicated by my review here is that this hotel Is ran by stuck up snobs. In 2024 most employers have decent enough standards to show politeness and respect to future employees and staff as they are your source of income. YOU DON’T, so if you are a future customer that cares about the way hotels treat their staff and employees the message is clear and simple from your obnoxious response: DO NOT STAY OR DINE IN THIS PLACE AS THEIR ATTITUDES TOWARDS STAFF ARE DISGUSTING.

Stunning little find in Henley on Thames, booked the Flowerpot Hotel for a 2 night stay for a charity walk. However, due to an injury I decided to spending the weekend exploring Henley. The hotel is hidden on a very narrow road but it’s nice to be away from the main centre, and yet still close enough to town with a 9 minute drive. The drive to the hotel was a little surreal The rooms were stunning, very modern and clean as was the pub. We had a warm Welcome on arrival, the hotel was cosy and rooms were nicely furnished and very comfortable. Plenty of parking for guests and visitors We had the option of having breakfast, lunch and dinner in the pub, we had breakfast on the first day and bar snacks on our final evening stay. The open fire is lovely, the bar and dining area is spacious with plenty of outside seating during the summer weather. I will be visiting again next year and plan to stay at this hotel.

Lovely pub just off the beaten track. Very large beer garden and there is an overflow car park although it's not clearly marked. If the front car park is full trim left at the pub and immediately turn right....it looks like a private drive 30 meters but turn in to it and the overflow parking is on the right on a grassed area. We didn't eat but the food looked and smelt amazing. A great find and we only spotted it because of a road sigh on the main road pointing do the lane saying "public house" so look out for it

What a lovely Pub and gardens. This Pub is very friendly friendly and has a beautiful beer garden .In the garden they have created a great barbecue area and a lovely space for you to eat your meal. The only downside is the cost of the food which is extortionate. I have no doubt the owners will say the prices are commensurate with local pubs but they are not. It’s a real shame because as I sat in the garden admiring the view all I heard people talk about was how expensive it was which for me and my family spoilt the occasion .the staff were really friendly and when our food did arrive, I have to admit it did taste nice, but it is a big but the cost spoilt day day

Man behind the bbq quite aggressively grabbed the ticket and said we wouldn’t be getting any food then and told another customer to go away. The only reason for giving two stars and not one was because the staff member, Will, saved the day. Having booked a table more than a week before, we arrived at the restaurant to find that our booking had erroneously been booked by the restaurant for a week later (I have emails confirming this). Rather than trying to make a plan, Sasha (one of the most pathetic front-of-house individuals I've ever encountered) simply shrugged his shoulders. No apologies or attempts to find a solution, despite the fact that we were the first patrons to arrive. Even when HE pulled up my emails, with the Flower Pot's confirmation that the booking had been made, no apology or anything more than a shrug of his shoulders. Will (another staff member) arrived and immediately apologised when he saw that this was a Flower Pot mistake. He really tried to find a solution. And just the acknowledgement that there was a problem was a relief. My advice - Dismiss Sasha immediately as he's a liability to The Flower Pot! No customer-facing skills at all! Thank you Will for finding an amicable solution.

The pub by which all others will be judged. I'd run past this place on the Thames Path Ultra some years ago and thought what a charming place it looked. I finally made an excuse to book lunch as part of the beautiful National Trust Hambledon Lock to Henley River walk. The pub is beautiful: charming without being kitsche or 'Olde Worlde' cliche. The menu is short enough to allow the kitchen to focus on quality, but long enough to cater for all tastes, food intolerances and preferences. We skipped starters and went right to mains, having Cornish sea bass with a side salad and chips and a Nicoise salad. Each were exceptional, with my Nicoise's tuna steak still pink on the inside, beans and potatoes perfect done and eggs beautifully soft boiled. The localish Brakespeaks Gravity Drop was excellent and the impressive Dog Menu a first for me. In skipping the starters we'd made a conscious decision to leave room for puddings, which were were also exceptional. The warm flour-free brownie, with mandarin wedges, a reduced mandarin sauce and and vanilla ice cream was excellent. Even better was the playful and creative carrot cake, which came in a flowerpot with edible flowers, cinnamon infused baby carrots, and layers of sweetened marscarpone and gently spiced carrot cake. The garden was lovely and dog-friendly, the loos spotless and the service superb. In summary, flawless execution by a superb team. Expect London prices in these Shires, but the quality and value were well worth it.

I was really looking forward to celebrating my 70th birthday with family in August. We first booked the meal last December. We have confirmed the booking several times, including whilst we were there enjoying a meal a couple of weeks ago. We were asked to pre-order our meal choices 2 weeks beforehand as there were to be 19 of us, which we duly tried to do today. A manager has just phoned my wife telling her that they couldn't carry out the booking....making all sorts of excuses, including the fact that we hadn't made a deposit, for which we had never been asked. It was almost as if they were blaming us for them having to cancel. Very unsatisfactory. The Flower Pot used to be our favourite and goto eatery when we were in this area. NOT ANYMORE.

One of the worst luncheon experiences I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing, propagated by an incredibly rude staff that refused any form of accommodation. I am a local to the area and with my son visiting we wanted to share a Sunday roast. On arrival, there was a plethora of free tables; however, the "manager", Alexander, denied us seating in a very hostile manner, instead placing us on a small metallic table not suitable for a party of 3. For the remained of our stay, not only did all the tables remain free of occupation but we were also treated with extreme disrespect from all staff members, reflective of their neglectful disposition towards my family during our meal. One of the waitresses slammed the food on our table and the rest refused to even speak with us until we were forced to go to the bar to complain... The food was mediocre and the location was good, though for all those intending on visiting for a family meal please heed this warning of the Flower Pot's egregious service toward paying customers !

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at this pub. Despite their nice beer garden, I was not allowed to order from the menu after securing a table simply because I did not have a reservation. This policy is utterly ridiculous and ruined what could have been a pleasant visit. The staff were unhelpful and inflexible, showing no consideration for walk-in customers. It's a shame that such a nice setting is marred by such poor service. Avoid this place if you don't want your day ruined by arbitrary rules and unfriendly staff.

Beautiful spot just outside Henley. Great food and the best pub burger we’ve had! Lovely setting and good service.

Really nice pub, in a very beautiful location. If you fancy a getaway in a little quiet nook of the country, this could be it.

What a surprise, we came across this gem of place during our trek along the Thames Path. We were easily persuaded by the staff member outside the pub to give this a try, good food, cider and excellent service. Such a lovely atmosphere here and such lovely decor, it’s well worth a visit and one we plan coming back to.

Always enjoyed walking from bridge of Henley on Thames and enjoy a meal as a reward. This time, we got late and didn’t get our open sandwiches as dinner had begun but awesome experience as ever

We had 2 fabulous nights stay at The Flower Por Hotel. We only ate one lunch there which was EXCELLENT, but I didn't get pics sorry. It's a fabulous pub with lovely comfortable rooms. Service was super pleasant and helpful. The garden is awesome to sit out for a bevy and watch the Red Kites. The location is super easy to walk to Hambledon lock on the Thames and so easy to walk to Henley. Nothing to fault from me!!

Very pleasant meal, difficult to find but well worth the effort. Both meals were exceptional but my fillet steak was the best in Britain for a long while.

Stopped in for a drink after a walk. The place has just been refurbished and is an excellent standard.... friendly barman and good service. The restaurant looked particularly inviting. We are certainly going to give it a try when the opportunity arises.

Great pub garden however they didn't serve food outside which was disappointing and Pimm's only had a slice of lime.

Just come back from The Flower Pot, the new outdoor terrace is lovely and the hotel has certainly had a make over - wonderful. The food was lovely, can recommend the cod tacos and flower pot burger. The chips were the best we have all had for a while. If you’re looking for a refreshing new menu in a lovely location …… The staff are very friendly and accommodating

I popped in today for the first time & it will be the last. The staff couldn't be bothered to listen to orders properly, with everyone having to repeat themselves. When orders were done, they weren't telling the customer so coffees were just sat waiting. My coffee was awful. It tasted like day old stewed coffee & my bacon bap was stodgey with 1 slice of bacon. For the price I paid I'd have expected more than 1 slice. People may mock it, but give me a Greggs breakfast bacon roll & coffee any day. Half the price & it all tastes fresh.

What a great countryside pub in the heart of Twyford. We walked in about 10 minutes before opening but they were happy to let us wait in the pub garden enjoying the sun. Great service and good selection on tap . Peaceful. They also have a very highly rated Thai food kitchen, unfortunately we didn't have time to try it. Next time for sure.

Good facility on site, visit this place every year for the Woodley music festival. There’s a coffee shop at foyer.

No te decepcionarás...

The food and drink were incredible but the best part of our experience was our waitress Liv - she was chatty, attentive and welcoming. We will return just for her service
