Lovely little find on a walk around Droxford and the River Meon. Located in the village church it offers drinks, cakes and snacks. Tables and chairs outside too if the weather is kind otherwise you can sit inside. Staff very friendly and great prices too.

Took my mum, daughters and granddaughter for a Mother’s Day treat, we all had the afternoon tea and it was absolutely amazing. Everything was just delicious and so much of it we took some home to enjoy later. The staff were so lovely and friendly, they couldn’t do enough for us, they made our visit perfect. Thank you xxx

What a lovely pub in a gorgeous location with that Cricketing heritage. Visited The Bat & Ball with friends that have recommended this place for a long time. The location is really scenic and the pub is superb, so clean and the staff are super friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home right away. They have a lovely selection of drinks and the food menu is brilliant with something for all tastes and budgets. The food we ordered was really tasty and good portions. The prawn starters were amazing, well done to the chef! Highly recommend and again big thanks to the owners / staff for a great chat and being so kind and welcoming. Will be back for sure.

Visited for lunch on a Friday. Nice welcome from a charming manager who seemed a natural at engaging g with customers. Good local beer and high quality food (a special of salad with asparagus and feta and also a burger with locally sourced beef and served with excellent chips) Great pub which we highly recommend

Delicious Sunday lunch. Large plates full of meat and vegetables. Food was piping hot. The lady who served us was brilliant and if we were more local we'd be going back regularly. The puddings weren't needed, but we had some regardless. Blueberry cheese cake, a fruit crumble with custard and a fabulous cheese board were all finished off. Note they do offer a smaller plate option for the Sunday roast which might be a sensible choice for some diners.

We visited today for Sunday lunch a party of 6 including 2 grandchildren (2 and 5 years old). After ordering and paying (!) we waited for 53 minutes for the food to arrive - actually it needed a reminder, and even then my son's roast pork was forgotten and had to 'plated'. The food was very poor - not that anyone came to ask - with the veg tasting like it had been made at 8am and kept warm in a steamer. My potatoes were uncooked in the centre. The whole experience was reminiscent of school dinners from the 1960s. I'm still astonished, 8 hours later.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Vine yesterday with my adult son. We had booked for the Sunday Carvery. We were greeted by the smiling Landlady, offered our drinks and shown to our table. We were called to the Carvery where the Landlord Chef, carved selected freshly cooked meats. The array of vegetables was impressive. The food tasted first class and I heard similar opinions from other diners. Well done the Vine - we will be back.
