Had lunch here today. I am sorry to say the food was absolutely dreadful. The service was poor to say the least. The place was empty with no atmosphere. Would not recommend this place to anyone and will never return.

Stopped by for a drink while dog walking. Nice friendly local pub. Recommended.

The Vine is a nice, cosy pub. It's an attractive old building. It's a good place to go for a drink if you have been for a walk in the area.

Wonderful pub, landlord and landlady are very friendly and welcoming whilst turning it around as a business. Food is delicious struggle to choose what to order because everything is delicious! Dog and family friendly too

Popped in here last night, had mixed experiences before but as it's our local and a lovely venue we thought we would pop in for some food. There were 2 staff behind the bar, one or 2 tables occupied and a couple of people sitting at the bar. As we walked in no one looked up/no sort of greeting. We stood at the bar whilst the 2 staff carried on their conversation with the people sat at the bar. It felt like we had walked into someone's house uninvited. After standing there for a few minutes we left and went to the Bat and Ball where you are always made to feel welcome. I guess that's why on a Friday night the Vine was empty.

So lovely to have a warm welcome again at The Vine, Hambledon from Mark, Claire and the team. The carvery is delicious (and huge) and the main menu is great pub grub at reasonable prices.

We were looking for somewhere different to go for Sunday Lunch and saw that The Vine were doing a carvery. Booked a table for 10 in advance, arrived on the day to a warm welcome from the staff. Called up to the carvery and was greeted by the chef who had a great choice of meats and vegetables which tasted fantastic. Ended with an apple crumble and custard. A great choice of venue, make sure you book beforehand, people were being turned away due to being fully booked. We will be back!!

Excellent Sunday carvery served here. Very friendly and welcoming staff and good portions of meat served, good choices of Lamb, Gammon,Pork, Beef and Chicken. Plentiful choice of homemade desserts .

Really good value and tasty food. Hard to find a pub that serves good pub grub at a sensible price but the Vine Inn definetly do. Recommended

Wonderful village pub, with super friendly staff. Just borderline on prices, but their menu looks amazing. I didn't eat on this visit, but I'll make a point of trying something next time. Be aware that you can park in the Village Hall car park, which is directly beside The Vine. Highly recommended.

It serves beer, plays live music on Saturday, and serves food. It's a no-nonsense pub, popular with locals. has a good dart board, a small rear beer garden, and a couple of fruit machines.

Very cosy, warm oldy pub/restaurant! Great food, they do a fantastic roast as well. Cater for large groups and families and even tables for 2 feel looked after by being seated by the open fire (for the colder evenings)

Decent roast but shame it was all well done and no pink bits. Nice merlot and Sauvignon, Peroni seemed lively and how it should be. Lovely atmosphere and nice open fire 🔥 had a nice Smokey tinge in the air

Was a Great local pub that is more than just a place to go and have food. New landlord is super friendly and trying his best to make this a great pub.... visit it and help. Also.. they do a great baked camembert perfect with a few pints....Now lost the chef and landlord to lazy to do any food....

We’ve eaten here twice, I had the roast, trio of meats both times. £20, but worth every penny, very generous portions and one of most delicious roasts I’ve had. Service, staff all excellent. Ambience, lovely, roaring fireplace and lots of locals, always a good sign. The new publicans know what they’re doing. Can’t wait for our next visit ❤️love the Higson’s xxx

First came to the pub a couple of weeks ago and I can honestly say that Jess and Jai are the most amazing couple and have created a beautiful atmosphere and welcoming vibe which with the food quality makes this pub and them second to none. Would recommend and do recommend to anyone and everyone

Visited today for the first time. Lovely place, in a quiet village. And was beautiful. Locals and staff were very inviting. The staff are young so you get a good mix of traditional and modern vibes. Taking my 83 year old mum in two weeks for a Sunday roast. .ga.

Decent little pub this, in the middle of Hambledon village and offering good food and beer at a reasonable price. Owners are friendly and hospitable and one Sunday evening even supplied a plate of gorgeous roast potatoes with gravy for bar snacks.

In recent years this pub has gone down hill. I used to live in Hambledon and last week when visiting called in to The Vine for lunch to receive a pleasant surprise. Warm reception, good service and superb food.

4 of us did a 6 mile walk to The Vine this lunchtime (in spite of the heat). Everyone commented how good the food was. My Norfolk chicken was superb. Very attentive staff. Definitely will be back soon.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience Jess the general manager and the barmaid were excellent hosts. The food wine and beer were delicious and served very well. We shall definitely return.

The food was absolutely excellent! Would recommend to everyone! And definitely not just a pub, but more like a gastropub. However, the service was very slow and we ended up waiting 1h for starters and another hour for mains to arrive. We are planning to come back in the next month or two - and hope that service will improve. With the correct help and more professional front of house staff, The Vine could become great!! A great start and the best of luck in succeeding and sustaining in these hard and challenging times.

Lovely food and a large variety. Welcoming staff and great service. Large indoor space and a large garden with a decking area. A very communal place to eat or have a drink with family or friends. 5/5, would definitely recommend for a family dinner or just an occasional drink with friends. Definitely should visit if ever in the area or just passing. 👍👍#notbadforaboozer

I was invited to return to the Vine, following a disappointing meal last week. The meal was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented. The staff couldn’t have been more attentive and we came away with the feeling that we would definitely return at a later date.

Very charming pub in the heart of beautiful Hambledon. A lovely place to visit and great place to stop for a drink. Very olde worlde and highly recommended. Apparently pie & mash night on Wednesdays at £6.95 is brilliant!
