Booked Afternoon Tea as a treat for my sister. Had to order sandwich fillings in advance from a really good selection. Perfect Afternoon Tea, had so much food had to have a doggy bag. Service was great, really friendly and checking if anything needed. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back. Place was really busy for an afternoon during the week as well.

First time visit. Recommended by friends. Lovely place, great food, great service and cakes to die for - tried one, took one home, got another one the next day !!

Great lunch. Service is always fast, food is fresh produce. Staff are polite anc they offer gluten free options. One down point... I noted staff didn't wash their hands after interacting with visiting dogs.

Delicious veggie breakfast, granary toast, all cooked fresh, lovely coffee, always leave with cake to eat later, if you can wait that long!!

We had just spent two nights camping in horrible weather and were feeling run down when we stumbled upon this cafe on the map. It was a bit out of our way but definitely worth it. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the staff exceptionally inviting and the food was amazing. I will definitely be going back again and will happily out of my way to return.

Came here for a full English on my birthday having heard good things about the place and I was delighted with everything! Nice coffee, excellent service, top quality food. 10/10 for the breakfast. And dog friendly! Will definitely be back for another full English. Top drawer!

We have been coming to The Old Forge for a few years now and consider it a home away from home. The food is absolutely delicious, always consistently fresh and full of flavour, and extremely reasonably priced. There is always a vast selection of lovely cakes on offer as well with something to suit everyone. It’s located in a beautiful English village with plenty of glorious walks nearby in the heart of the countryside. The owners and staff are absolutely wonderful, so accommodating, and always welcoming, friendly and attentive. They also cater for dogs and always make time to say hello to our calm German Shepherd who loves it there just as much as we do. We are so grateful to have such an amazing tea room so close to where we live and it’s always our first choice for a relaxing lunch. The Old Forge really is a rare find and well worth a visit (or several). Please note that it’s always advisable to book as they are so popular.

I have been to The Old forge many (many!!) times. The food and cakes are delicious, never had a bad meal. The staff have always been friendly and welcoming, even when they have clearly been very busy. Highly recommended.

Called to book and the woman was so rude decided to cancel. Very Rude telephone experience would not go there to spend my hard earned money Disgraceful.

Wonderful little cafe with gorgeous food and lovely homemade treats for all. The staff are absolutely great, very friendly and polite especially Clare who goes above and beyond. All in all spectacular.

Lovely, friendly staff that are always so welcoming, even Ed 😉. We love going there for the superb food & the best cakes around. Our 4-year-old begs to go back there for the great local ice cream they sell. Never had a less than brilliant experience in years of going here 5*. Great work, Clare, Ed & the team.

Came in in the afternoon mid walk, were a little muddy but staff didn't mind. Service wasn't particularly fast but very friendly. Good food and plenty of Gluten free options (need to ask as not marked). Inside was clean and well maintained. Recommend.

Our visit today to this tea house was absolutely fantastic! The best carrot cake we have ever had. The staff, including the owner/manager was superb. We were given a history of Hambledon book to look at which helped us with the reasons of our visit...

Such a lovely spot to have a bite to eat. Very popular with locals and cyclists. Although it’s on the road, it feels in the hub of things, not unpleasant. Good choice of simple fare, very nicely presented.

We visited The Old Forge with our granddaughter and had a truly wonderful experience. We were warmly welcomed by very smiley staff, were delighted to see the largest list of teas ever and were almost overwhelmed with the choice of cakes - which were sublime!...

We visited this tea room a few times while staying in the village. The staff were so helpful and welcoming and the food was brilliant. We ordered a takeaway tea one day and it was really good value and plenty of it too!

Living locally we have driven past The Old Forge countless times and today decided to drop in, so glad we did!!!Lovely freshly cooked breakfast baps and hot coffees, plus the cakes looked so nice we got two to take away!!!Staff were welcoming and attentive, plus dog and child friendly which is perfect as we have both. This place was amazing! The staff are lovely and food exceptional. My friend took me here for a birthday treat and ordered afternoon tea. Everything from the cake to the scones were homemade; I have never tasted better! Definitely worth a visit!

While out for a country drive I passed this very popular T Rooms as many people were sat outside in the warm sunshine. We opted for T & Cake on this visit but we should have took more time to study the menu, the breakfast menu looked tasty so wish I’d opted for that! COVID regulations are in place with staff wearing masks & recording customers details as they arrive, the surroundings are well ventilated & clean. Staff are friendly and service is quick. To summarise this T Room is well worth a visit especially on those warm sunny days and your lucky enough to get an outside table. TS

Wow...just wow!!! Went there to celebrate a friends birthday. We opted for afternoon tea. The owners and their staff were just wonderful, so welcoming, attentive and friendly. One member of our party was gluten and dairy free and was catered for with a level of care and consideration that I have never seen anywhere else! Afternoon tea was delish! Vast range of sandwiches, sausage rolls, huge scones and the most gorgeous cakes! Can not wait to return again and again and again!!

We popped in here for cake and ice cream at a midway point for our country walk with the kids. The staff were lovely and the carrot cake I had was delicious! We will definitely be back!

Enjoyed a lovely light lunch of delicious homemade soup served with a yummy cheese scone, really good coffee and a warm welcome.

Had a lovely lunch of Tuna Mayo Jacket Potato, with side salad. The chocolate orange cake for afters was delicious. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, we left feeling as though we had made new friends. Especially as Ed, (the owner, we think), took the time out to drive us to the murder stone at hambledon after we had enquired as to its whereabouts. It made our afternoon really special. 100% recommend this tea room.

This tea room is second to none. The food is outstanding. Margaret the chef is so thoughtful and kind. They cater for everyone. One of our group is lactose intolerant and there is no problem. This is the second time I have been and this was just as good as the first time.

I went here for the first time yesterday with 2 friends.....one of whom is a regular there. The lunch menu is varied and there are 'Specials' on the chalk board. I had a baked potato with chilli served with small pots of cheese, sour cream and , for me, an extra helping of jalapeno chillies, plus a side salad. The portion was huge and delicious, cost an extremely reasonable £7.25, and, as I couldn't eat it all, was given a sealed foil tray containing the half that I had left. I shall definitely go again to this delightful tea room.......first rate service, friendly staff, a wide choice of great food (including delicious cakes) and a variety of hot and cold drinks. What more could you ask for? The Old Forge is THE place to go to any time of the day. (It's also dog friendly)

We called in for breakfast this morning on our dog walk and got to say one of the nicest I’ve had for a long time. Everyone so friendly and great we can take the dogs in. We have been for lunch on quite a few occasions, but first breakfast and it was yummy!

We visit here quite frequently for a coffe,which I must say is lovely coffe and are always served with a smile.They also welcome dogs inside and outside.We always have Sophie our German shepherd with us and the boss always makes a big fuss of her. So if your looking for somewhere tranquil and peaceful and welcomes your pet,and the staff are helpful and friendly,this is the place for you, You won’t be disappointed.

Stumbled upon this place by accident, not knowing it existed and we are really pleased we did!We visited with our three children and had cake and cream tea. The scones were the best I have ever had, with a generous portion of cream, jam and butter. All the cakes we had were absolutely delicious and it was incredibly reasonably priced. Two of us stopped by for coffees and a cream tea after a lovely walk around the Hambledon countryside.The coffee was lovely and hot, and the cream tea, very nice.The menu looks great for lunch too (served 12 - 3) - Paninis, Baguettes, Jacket potatoes.Delicious looking home made cakes are on offer all day too.A very friendly lady served us, and was so helpful.They also serve breakfast from 9.30 on Saturdays and Sundays.A lovely little gem. This used to be Lotts Tea Room/general store, but the new owners have completely revamped and refurbished and The Old Forge is now a really lovely cafe.

I have visited twice in the last few weeks. Friendly welcome from the staff there... and then... the food... The Baguettes are the absolute best I have ever had, generous, light and with a lovely side salad. High quality drinks to accompany. I love this place and will be returning at the weekend for another baguette!!!!

Visiting the lovely old village of Hambledon for the first time yesterday, it was such a pleasure to come across this special little tearoom. It is very cosy, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and the food is really lovely. Having enjoyed our lunch, we walked around the village and went back for tea and cake. We'll certainly be returning!

Today I stopped for a refuel whilst out cycling. This small but amazing tea room needs to be visited. I was drawn to the last slice of salted caramel cake - it didn't disappoint In fact I couldn't finish it!Staff were friendly and refilled our water bottles. A bowl of sweets by the till encouraging you to take for free - nice touch!For cyclists they also sell tyre inner tubes!So many wonderful looking cakes I'll be back to sample some more!

Excellent cream tea. Two large scones each, clotted cream, jam, butter and a large pot of tea for a tenner. Bargain.

We were out for a drive and looking for photo locations and found this tearoom. Such light scones and great coffee. I had a cream tea, and my better half had a teacake. Excellent fresh cakes and scones. Now going for a wander to try to remove some of the excess calories. I think we will have to visit again when the sun is shining.

Visited for the first time after walking the dogs with friends, we chose it as it was described as being ‘dog friendly’.The staff made a huge fuss of the pooches and they are allowed to sit inside the small but extremely clean restaurant. There are also benches outside if the weather favours al-fresco.The menu is simple and includes soup, jacket potatoes, omelettes and panini sandwiches with a selection of different fillings.We had omelettes , soup and baked potatoes all of which were very tasty.Service was also extremely pleasant and quick.Would recommend to anyone who would like a simple but tasty meal or perhaps as a cake and coffee stop. And yes , extremely Dog friendly !

I was looking for somewhere nice to take my nan out for lunch last weekend. On the Friday before I found this little gem on Google and read the other reviews on Trip Advisor (the reply to the review in November about the quiche and salad did make me laugh, fair play to you guys). I called to see if we needed to make a reservation as aware that they might be busy on a Saturday lunchtime. The lady who answered the call was lovely and between us we decided it would be best to reserve the table for two.When we arrived we were greeted and shown to the table and told the soup of the day and the difference between ordering it off the specials board and the mug with the sandwiches. Nan ordered a latte and I had a green tea. When they arrived we both ordered a prawn sandwich, one on white and one on granary.When these turned up the presentation was lovely, each came with a very nice dressed salad on the side and some crisps. I had the granary and the bread was so soft and tasty. Each sandwich was packed with prawns, so much so some of them escaped!Nan took half her sandwich home with her for her supper (she comes prepared nowadays with her own sandwich bag) and talked about how lovely it was on the drive home.What a great find, and cant wait for another visit

Used this place since it has been opened as near to our stables and handy for sit down with the girls for tea/coffee cake and chatter. Has really nice helpful staff, and the atmosphere and character of the place is so nice to have on your doorstep. In a world now full of same old chain coffee shops this is a gem in Hambledon.

Often use this coffee spot as a cyclist. The owner is very welcolming and the coffee is good as well as the cakes. We have had Sunday breakfast there to and that was very tasty. Nice to see a place with such a lovely spot making all travellers warmly welcome.

Visited this tea room this afternoon, Wednesday 20th February. Been meaning to visit since it opened, a year ago to the day. The tea rooms are the historical village of Hambledon in Hampshire, the home of cricket.Ed, the friendly owner and his staff made us very welcome. They were very attentive and courteous and very efficient. The food is exceptionally good, especially the warm scones served with jam and clotted cream, which do you put on first? We also had a more than generous piece of Salted Caramel cake, that too was exceptional. This is a relatively new business and is deserving of a visit any time of the year. Take a walk around the historical village and maybe visit the old church.Thourougly recommended.

We are a local business and everyone in our offices orders a lunch from The Old Forge Tea Room - and they've been fantastic. A varied and interesting menu, and the food never, ever disappoints. We are lucky to have such a gem of a tea room on our door step!

Popped in here on the way home from a 24 hour break away from London, it was really busy but the lady serving was great and found us a table. We ordered a sausage sandwich and the waffles with bacon, alongside various drinks. The food tasted great, and was served quickly. Strongly recommended.

Picked a muddy day for a long walk but made so much better popping into this place - coffee and cake for a good price and very friendly staff. (Sorry about the mud) We will pop in again on a dry day (or can you put something outside to clean to boots???) See you soon.

We passed this place and decided to stop for lunch, we should have carried on driving! The place was decorated nicely and the guy serving was polite but the food didn't come up to scratch! We ordered a cheese and onion sandwich and a quiche and salad only the bread was nothing special and the quiche was a cheap shop brought one and salad was not much more than lettuce! Very disappointed!

We were staying in the village and this café was recommended to us for lunch. We were not disappointed and enjoyed absolutely delicious jacket potatoes. The service was friendly and efficient. A lovely experience.

Called in today for a light lunch and enjoyed myself. Ordered the panini with a few personal requests which were no problem to the staff. When it arrived it was hot, plentiful and the filling all I ordered. Treated myself to a hot chocolate which was hot ( so often hot choc is luke warm ). The cafe is spotlessly clean, terrific staff and delicious food. Yes I will be back

Popped in here for tea and cake while out on a bike ride. Charming friendly staff and great selection of cakes, not just the usual favourites. I had sticky orange and chocolate cake, which was truly delicious. If I lived in the area, this would be a regular stop !

My husband and I, having loved The Old Forge Tea Rooms since its re-launch in February, decided there could be no more suitable venue for our Ruby Wedding tea party. This was an excellent decision. We were given free rein on the menu, food was very plentiful, tasty and varied and gluten-free sandwiches were provided for those who needed them. Ed and Clare are so pleasant and co-operative and even served coffee and cake at the end. Lovely waitresses, too. All added up to a friendly and successful occasion. Highly recommended.

Excellent coffee and even better cake. Reasonable prices, Americano and a slice of cake for under £5. I often stop here on cycle rides and the chap that runs the place always offers to fill my water bottles up. Highly recommend.

My family had lunch here for the first time yesterday, after hearing such good reviews. The food was faultless and well presented, good menu and fab selection of cakes, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and we will be back.

Stopped here this morning for coffee and cake whilst out on a bike club run. Very bright friendly and welcoming (even to a bunch of hoodlum bikers!). The only downside was the agonising decision about which cake to have; they all looked so delicious, it was hard to choose. But the 'country cake' I eventually opted for was 'melt-in-the-mouth' gorgeous.I learned from the owner that they have only been open for about ten weeks but judging by the number of people there today, this place is clearly here to stay!They are dog-friendly too so I will definitely be back soon with my four legged friend.

I happened upon The Old Forge Tea Room when looking for somewhere to meet a friend. This turned out to be the perfect spot as it is in a beautiful setting, we were given a very friendly welcome and the food and service were good. The tea room also welcomes dogs so I will definitely be visiting again with my family and four legged friend. The tea room is very clean & fresh and the the loos are immaculate!

I have ridden and driven past this delightful corner most of my life. I used to ride around here years ago - that alone brings back many memories. This place has transformed a few times. however this is the most radical and best ever change. How amazing it looks now. Clean, fresh, bright, warm and welcoming. I have just looked on FB and see how they have worked so hard to get to this stage. We had two lovely fresh and tasty sandwiches with lashings of tea. A ice old diet coke- also went down a treat..Good range of fillings, well served, fresh tasty side salad and crunchy crisps. Served with a smile, friendly, welcome service and speedy too.Spotless loo! We wish you every luck with this venture. Turning a little well loved corner of Hampshire into a delightful refreshment stop for all.

The food here is incredible and the staff are always friendly. You can tell a lot of work has gone into the renovation of the Tea Room and a lot of care has been used when choosing the decor in the dining area. If i was to recommend anything i would recommend their wonderful selection of panini's

I was lucky enough to be taken to The Old Forge Tea Room for coffee and a cake. The Tea Room has a friendly atmosphere and a good range of cake - they also cater for free from range of goodies.The staff were great, and the coffee was lovely, even the decaf. Will definitively visit again. An added bonus is you can also take your dog!

On a lovely sunny Sunday morning we decided to take a stroll around Hambledon village and stop off at The Old Forge Tea Rooms for a quick lunch.The place was packed out with cyclists, but I suppose understandable as a quick stop off point for a drink. We managed to get a table and our order was quickly taken. Unfortunately they had had a power cut half an hour earlier so couldn’t provide a few things off the menu, but there was still lots of choice i.e jacket potatoes, various sandwich fillings.I had a prawn sandwich, which came in a lovely chunk of granary bread and my partner had a cheese and ham panini both served with crisps and salad garnish. All washed down with a lovely cup of hot tea. Everything was clean and spotless and staff were happy to help. Good selection of yummy cakes to takeaway and will definitely be paying a visit here again.

The tearoom has just opened (previously Lott's) and provides a great cup of coffee and cake. Lots more on the menu including breakfast and snacks (but I've not tried them). Friendly staff and nice and warm with the sun streaming through the windows. As well as ordinary people, it's also dog, children, and cyclist friendly :)
