Had a fabulous meal at the bridge last night with 5 friends, one of whom has very specific dietary requirements. The staff , Hannah in particular, couldn't do enough for us nothing was to much trouble. Food was excellent . 6 very happy foodies

The Kings Head is a lovely pub in Hursley. We stayed there for 2 nights and had excellent breakfasts and evening meals. The bus into Winchester takes 10 minutes and stops just outside the pub. Lovely, welcoming staff. Would recommend and stay again.

We were part of a Christmas reunion meeting of 10 friends for lunch. We were looked after so well. Numerous different (pre-booked) starters, mains and sweets were served and most received very positive mentions. Just the fish (with fish & chips) was thought to have been over-fried. My duck starter (perhaps better served warm rather than cold?) and venison main were delicious. Service, for such a large party, was quick and well co-ordinated. Staff were friendly and welcoming. The ambience, of course, is great. Only the "card only payment" policy caused some annoyance. It seemed to take over-long to get through 5 separate payments. But, overall, 4.9 out of 5! Thank you, Plough.

So after visiting in April 2018 and writing a one star review and vowing never to return again, my friends booked a birthday dinner here. I was dubious I'll admit, but equally, did think that they had 7 years to sort themselves out! And they certainly did! We had a lovely waitress - sorry I didn't get her name. We only ordered mains, risotto, Chicken Burger and upgraded to Billionaire fries (YUM!!!) and two friends had the pork belly that looked amazing! We had lovely soft drinks - lots of choice for the non drinkers and we were lucky to have a voucher for some money off. So it has earnt the 5 stars back! I really enjoyed the meal, drinks and service!

We had visited The White Horse in the past and enjoyed a more than acceptable meal. This time, I'm afraid to say that it was anything but . We booked the latest time which was 6pm (anything earlier and it would have been high tea. My parents and partner opted for the cod and chips, I had half a cauliflower, breadcrumbs in a leek, spinach, mustard sauce with caper and raisin purée. My parents enjoyed their fish and chips. My partner said the fish was just about cooked, but the batter was swimming in oil and not palatable at all. My cauliflower dish promised much, but delivered a dish that was predominantly mustard and cream. It was poorly balanced in my opinion. Regretfully, we shall not be returning.
