Lovely pub & restaurant. Food was great. Everyone very friendly and helpful.

Me and my girlfriend came in a few days ago. The food was great and the service was great, will definitely return in the future. One small critique, the wine glasses were slightly dirty and my girlfriend wasn’t too happy about it. Other than that, amazing!

Have eaten here many times with no issues..but stopped off with family I collected from Heathrow...ate of main menu..food on this occasion was at best average..but poorly presented on the plate. .apparently only one chef working and overun with orders..other patrons that had burgers looked to have made the right choice

First visit to this pub , even only living 15mins away, loved the amazing outside area as walking from the carpark very tidy and well looked after. lovely for a summer evening (wasn't quite warm but we did sit outside having a drink while waiting for our other guess inside as lovely decorated beautiful, staff very friendly and welcoming, Adam was our waiter ,he was very professional and always making us feel wecome , letting us know he was about for anything we needed , food - garlic bread could do with more garlic but thats my preference, but couldnt fault the mains so i would say food it was amazing, will definitely return as it didn't disappoint, keep up the good work . See you all very soon 🙂

We visited for a drink and chips in the pub garden. The ontap Aspalls was absolutely delicious, and the skin-on fries were crispy and yummy. The best bit is the non-smoking terrace at the back of the pub. It has the evening sun and is just a lovely spot to relax

Popped in for a lunch with my mum and it was a pleasure. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I had the vegetable tart from the lunch menu which was delicious and light with lots of flavours. I would recommend here, the garden is lovely and the staff are very friendly.

We went here Saturday afternoon after a lovely walk along the river. Even with the glorious sunshine, we were seated outside on the patio without a wait and the staff (Hannah, Jo and Claire) were great, ensuring we got a drink quickly and then food followed shortly. The food and service was great even with how busy the pub was. As we were leaving to pay, the manager (Steve) thanked us for coming which was a nice touch. We will definitely be back

Bit of a strange experience here. One of us has kids ‘small’ portion of roast dinner whilst two of the party had adults portion which was around £12/13 difference in price….the adults version was hardly different to the kids portion, there was maybe a little more meat on the adults portion. Not sure how you can justify the difference in price of the portions if I’m being honest. There is table service here which is a nice touch but in all honesty I think the prices are quite steep here for the food menu and the drinks. Don’t expect it to be a non expensive meal out here.

Really heart warming pub, spoke to a few locals and met a lovely dog haha...Claire full of banter and pub really nice place to sit and have a beer. Recommended

Lovely meal , really attentive staff 😋, very quiet for a Saturday but that was too our benefit

the staff were clueless and really incapable. We entered and didn’t know where to go from lack of signage. We stood by the bar expecting someone to be like ‘be with you in a min’ or something but 4 members of staff walked past or looked at us and didn’t say anything. When waiting to ask where we can sit, the staff were joking behind the bar and being louder than the customers which isn’t a great impression, especially when they were all older so presumably ‘more experienced’ or the management. Food came out worryingly quickly and burger was just over cooked meat with no flavour and clearly the chips were sitting around before being served. Over priced and FOH staff defo need training on basic service.

Not sure what’s happened to this food, used to be mine and my partners favourite spot to eat. Was excited to try it tonight but to our surprise it was bland and dry. The fish tasted like it was straight out the freezer. Gutted that we won’t be returning as it is such a lovely spot. Maybe just drinks in future

New management are brilliant. Lovely pub. Unfortunately other peoples starters and all plates were done before ours and had to make our own way to pay the bill as was just left waiting. Food was tasty and hot. Will definately return though

Sadly let down by our lunchtime food. My "Roasted Vegetable Tart - Crumbly pastry filled with roasted garden vegetables and mixed seeds. Served with roast new potatoes and seasonal salad" was some sort of brown saucy over what looked like frozen vegetable medley. The potatoes were definitely not new. They looked like and tasted like old roast potatoes from a previous day which had been deep fried. The salad was ok... I was very disappointed. The mini sherry trifle (2 mouthfuls) and cappuccino coffee were both nice. Wanted to sit in the sun but were only informed once I'd climbed steps and walked up and down garden ramps that lunch couldn't be served to us in the area we'd chosen. As I have a disability and mobility issues, we insisted the staff would have to bring the food to us as I didn't have the energy or inclination to move anywhere else! They did oblige.

Expecting it to be busy we were surprised about how the car park was easy to find a space it was always busy inside as well but no? It was our guaranteed Sunday roast knowing we would not be let down, the roast menu has changed and increased significantly in costs. It was not nice and I don’t know who wrote other reviews saying how good it is. We won’t be back for a long time, very disappointed?

Dwayne and Jo were incredibly accommodating when we arrived late, and allowed us to eat in their wonderful pub. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Beautiful pub set in a beautiful location. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Excellent food, the mixed grill had excellent cuts of meat and cooked perfectly. Service by Claire and Dwayne was superb. Very attentive and made the dining experience even more enjoyable!

Lovely pub and service was fine. However the food was a bit disappointing, despite generous portions. The squid starter was lacking in taste, we did not get the lemon that was mentioned on the menu - this would have helped. The garlic mayonnaise did not taste of anything. The chicken strips starter was also lacking in taste and chicken. My veggie grill was overcooked and luke warm, really not worth £17.49. Steak pie was good but gravy wasn’t hot. Fish and chips was ok, asked for the extra of scampi and bread - bread was dry and we did not get any butter. Overall ok but I doubt we’ll return.

The Sunday menu was limiting and to be honest not very good. However the service was excellent and the staff couldn’t do enough to make up for the poor quality food.

We had such a warm welcome from Claire, Hannah and Liv when we visited the Bridge Inn on Shawford for a Sunday Dinner. It’s quite tricky to find somewhere serving a roast dinner in the evening but the Bridge Inn came up trumps! Great food and very generous portions. The stuffing with the chicken was incredible! The service was great and we’ll definitely be coming back as soon as possible!

My daughters and I had a wonderful evening at The Bridge on Saturday. The food was amazing. We were served by two lovely waitresses, Wilma and Jemma. They were both absolutely charming, happy and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. It was our first time back in 20 years. Nothing has changed and if anything, it had improved. We loved it all and will definitely repeat the experience. Thank you so much.

Disappointing choice for a Sunday Lunch. We were a party of four diners, one of whom is vegetarian and medically gluten intolerant. Staff weren’t trained on the dietary aspects of the menu, several items not available and the most junior staff were left to deal with the situation. Management were aware that things weren’t going well with our meal, and they chose to hide inside rather than try and get things back on track. Undercooked food had to be sent back. The pub has had good money invested in it, and is physically charming, however all of this is wasted by invisible management and poorly trained staff.

Incredible pub! Been here twice now, once for my birthday and once for a Sunday roast and both times were 10/10. The food is amazing. The staff are always so kind and attentive, can never do enough for you. Even asking if we’d like a dog bed or water bowl and then bringing her some of the pigs in blankets from the kitchen later on! The place itself is decorated beautifully and every detail has been thought of, from hand lotion in the bathrooms to allergen menus (lots of gluten free options! 🎉). Will come back again and again ☺️

I will not come back to this pub. We went with a person with diet intolerance and they were unable to specify if one of the ingredients was without this type of allergen. On top of that, I received an email from a Newsletter from their pub when I did not share any of my information apart from paying by card at the restaurant. Very poor client management despite that it is a decent pub food.

Booked The Bridge for my partner's birthday for 5 of us on Wednesday lunchtime because it used to be good...but this time not so, there was a new menu! Okay but a little disappointing in choice. Lets start with the food! Not the warmest, one guest asked for a medium rare sirloin, it was cold, rare and tough! I had the Dou of Chicken, again not the hottest! and the rice was bland! The Seabass was slightly over cooked. Then we come to the coffees, well I drink alot of coffee and love 'good' coffee but I think you need to invest in a new machine and maybe some barista training because we had 2 flat whites and a latte...I can tell you that they were not either we did not want to spoil the day by complaing but our guest with the steak did and it was knocked off the bill! All in all not a great meal, the serving staff did thier best, but they and guests are let down by the kitchen! I'm coming up with friends for breakfast soon, so will see how that goes, hopefully the food is hot and the coffee brewed correctly... fingers crossed!!!🤞

We can't believe we have lived down the road and regularly passed this pub without going in, our first visit won't be our last! We immediately felt welcome as we were shown to a large table where we could sit without our dog getting in people's way. There is a selection of dog beds and dog treats on the bar. The staff were friendly, attentive and professional. They also knew the menu which makes such a difference.The food was delicious and even the dog was offered a menu - a first for us! Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening, we'll be back!

I had a visit with my children and Mother. I was welcomed amazingly, and had the best service by Steve! He took our order swiftly no problems! Food was lovely, I shall be returning.....thank you!

A nice warm place with an open fire and nice interior. Quiet places to sit and chat and watching the world go by. Near the train station so handy if waiting for a train, or before going for a walk along the river.

Went here for a burns night meal. The food and service were both top notch! Four course burns night menu was well done and had good choices for everyone. The haggis was exceptional quality and full of flavour, good meat and low fat

Came across this lovely pub a few days again and it was fantastic such a great atmosphere, the food was delicious. My family and I were really impressed by the service, we were really well looked after by Dwayne! He made sure everything was perfect for us and was so friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area!

Booked for my mum’s birthday for a 7.30 Sunday booking and they call at 5 to say they’ve run out of roast dinners. That’s a whole evening slot not prepared for!!! Shocking management skills. Only reason we were going was for a roast so now they’ve left us last minute with next to no options in Winchester. I appreciated the call and I’ve been to the pub before and it’s nice enough so that’s why it gets 2 stars.

We love the Bridge, the atmosphere is cosy and welcoming and the staff always take such good care of us. Thank you to Claire and Dwayne during our last visit we’re exceptional. 👍

I feel I have to put something on here we have used the bridge on many occasions and was always happy , however the last two visits for Sunday roast have been very poor Long waits for service lazy and argumentative staff , Bring back John Was great when he was running the show

I often go to The Bridge for a relaxing drink after work. The staff are friendly and professional. This evening, I was served by Wilma who always serves me my drink with a pleasant smile. The stresses of the day just melt away when I enter The Bridge

We have been totally spoilt by Claire and Dwayne! The garden terrace is perfect after a long walk. We’ve got two children with us and Claire and Dwayne kindly gave us complimentary chocolate cookies with the boys’ hot chocolates which made their day. Thank you for having us and we will be sure to return with friends :)

A very nice place with friendly staff

We came for a Sunday roast and it was delicious! The food portion was amazing and I actually struggled to eat it all. We were looked after by Claire A and she was very attentive, she was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We also loved how accommodating the pub is for dogs. We brought our little Harvey with us and there were plenty of water bowls around for him and we also noticed that there were dog beds available.

Food is terrible, decent food would see me visit here all the time, it should be a great dining experience, it is a wealthy area and everyone can afford to eat out, but the food is not up to standard, I'd love to buy the pub and make a fortune.

We booked for an evening meal after reading all these great reviews and we were not disappointed. The food was lovely - we persuaded ourselves to have three courses - and our server Zippy was great. Dwayne cooked our food to perfection and the young man behind the bar was really friendly and professional. All in all a really nice, chilled evening. Will definitely be returning.

First time here and definitely won't be the last. The staff were very welcoming and nothing was to much to ask. Food was amazing , had the special wild boar sausages and parsley mash , one word WOW, followed by an amazing apple tart and ice cream. Very reasonable prices too

We were disappointed with our latest visit here. The food was overcooked, under seasoned and underwhelming. The prices don't reflect the standard you'd expect, unfortunately. It wasn't busy either, but get over cook fish and poached eggs isn't impressive at all. The location and decor is fantastic, but the food on a quiet afternoon wasn't up to our expectations. We ate it as we were hungry, but probably won't go back for food just drinks if we are passing by.

Lovely lasagne. Really nice staff who made a difference. Lovely looking pub and setting. BUT, we moved tables as the first was by a grill (fireplace?)with cold air blowing through. The second was by a window and the wall beneath was stone cold. It was an exceptionally cold day outside and we were freezing inside the pub, too. Spoiled our meal and we sat in our coats throughout. Also, the mash served with the pie was small but they brought more when we commented. A mixed experience.
