The best restaurants in South East

Pre-ordered food on day of England Euros final, as expected it to be busy. They delivered it one hour early! The food wasn't anything special. Wouldn't recommend.

Food was delicious, service was fantastic, little local gem. Would recommend the Thali’s, great value for money. Will be back.

A disappointment! After a long walk from Hailsham I was expecting some enjoyable on arrival. But no. After waiting in the queue to order food I got to the till at one minute past noon to be told “breakfast is finished” Not in an apologetic manner but offish. The coffee id mediocre and the cake was over dry.

Lovely, locally-run coffee shop with great cakes & top bike service! Friendly staff, tables inside and out and easy parking if you’re driving. Highly recommend!

This place rakes in the business from the lads at Eton College and I do think the woman behind the counter (owner's wife?) could crack a smile and be much more friendly to her (mostly young) customers, to be honest. She acted as if I was putting her out when ordering and spoilt the experience with my family on what was a busy Saturday afternoon - and very good business for them. The milkshakes are far too sweet also.

A great menu of lunchtime meals starting at £5. Comfortable chairs and tables in a restaurant holding about 100 diners. Food was hot and well presented. Sunday lunch is a carvery with a choice of meats and vegetables plus hot and cold puddings.

Just lunch. So full up, no skimping here, really good value in fact so full its really filling. very pleasant people too. Recommend highly.

A hidden gem. Excellent freshly made panini and reasonably priced with friendly service. Highly recommended. Pleasant woodland surroundings.

Had a lovely afternoon with friends at the restaurant. It was Monday Roast which was roast pork. It was very tasty and excellently presented. It was followed by Apple crumble and ice cream. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to doing it again as everyone was great.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at MK Cafe & Restaurant for breakfast, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! I ordered the MK Double, and it was a generous portion that left me thoroughly satisfied. The food was absolutely amazing—each bite was bursting with flavor, and I can confidently say it’s the best breakfast spot in Deal! My sons opted for the MK Single, and they were just as impressed. The portion size was perfect for them, and they raved about the sausage and bacon, which were both incredibly tasty. My youngest even indulged in a milkshake, which was reasonably priced and didn’t last him long at all! He demolished it in no time and immediately asked, “Dad, can I have another one?” 🤣 It’s clear that the ingredients are fresh, and the attention to detail in the preparation really shines through. The service was also top-notch, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. It’s a great atmosphere, and I appreciate their commitment to providing a wonderful dining experience. Now that we’ve discovered the incredible breakfast offerings at MK Cafe, we will definitely be returning more often. Keep up the fantastic work—your cafe has officially become our go-to breakfast spot! Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

My husband and I popped in for coffee and breakfast and both were fantastic. Great food and very welcoming staff. The lunch menu looked fab too. We will definitely be returning!

Excellent value for money. The staff are competent and attentive. The chef produces interesting dishes. Altogether a good experience.

Relaxed and comfortable Cafe with good service and a nice selection of fresh food. Can be a bit noisy with little sound insulation. Really enjoyed the haloumi and avocado bagel.

Good, tasty portions. However, we needed to ask for our meal to be reheated as it was lukewarm when served. After that, it was a delicious, home made like meal. I ordered chicken which was quite grilled outside but pink and red at places inside, so I just took that home and fried it. One of the men in there said nothing when we walked in, the other guy was friendly. One more thing to improve is the ventillation, it gets smokey, as there is an open kitchen.
