A hidden gem. Excellent freshly made panini and reasonably priced with friendly service. Highly recommended. Pleasant woodland surroundings.

I like finding new places to walk and Snelsmore Common was the choice. We went for a few hours walk, returning to find The Snugg. A little cafe offering hot & cold drinks, hot fresh food & homemade cake. Lovely friendly staff made it a good choice to stop off for lunch. There are benches adjacent, or further towards the common where we opted to sit amongst the trees.

A great place to get something to eat. They have sandwiches, toasties, sausage rolls, ice cream, cookies, cakes and hot and cold drinks. By the entrance to the car park. Friendly staff, great quality food, a lovely place to sit and enjoy the moment 😀

Delicious treats and strong coffee, a perfect put stop for weary muddy travellers. I had a skinny latte and my friend a hot choc. I've had the pleasure of their indulgent carrot cake too but I couldn't finish it, it was too big!! Friendly, helpful staff working hard.

The staff here are what make this place special and one we return to again and again. There is a very warm and comfortable seating arrangement downstairs. The pepper steak and traditional pasties are delicious and we enjoy their coffee too. Thank you!

This pub is so warm and welcoming. The service is superb - no matter who happens to be behind the bar. The ladies’ loo has fresh flowers, one if those little touches that makes it special. No, there is no food on offer but we know that and still enjoy walking there for a drink and walking home again afterwards. The village is lucky to have this well-run pub.

We came here for Sunday lunch as Pete Allen and his jazz band were playing in the function room at 2.30pm. Doors opened at 2pm and I booked a table for 1 pm and was assured that as we only have one course that would give us plenty of time for us to go in at 2pm so we could get a good table. Unfortunately by the time someone came to take our order and food arrived it was way past 2.00 pm before we got to get into the function room which was almost full! The lunch: When the order was taken we were asked if we wanted a small plate or large plate. There was nothing on the menu to indicate there was a choice. I said I don't eat a lot of meat so we were told to have a small plate. I said when we booked that we were both on a gluten and dairy free diet which they said was no problem. When it eventually arrived at about 1.45pm it was on very small plates like side plates. We got 2 small, thin slices of the pork roast we had chosen with gluten free gravy and 1 potato! Although we could not eat the Yorkshire puddings as they are not gluten free they still put one on my husband's plate even though we said we were both gluten free. They kindly did a portion of plain cauliflower instead of the cauliflower cheese that it normally came with. Also we did not want the red cabbage as that had sugar in it and my husband cannot have sugar. In spite of this they stil served us with a portion of cauliflower cheese and a portion of red cabbage. When we got the bill we were charged for two kid's meal! If the person taking the order had explained that in the beginning we would have had the normal Sunday lunch. Having been asked if we wanted a large or small plate we thought that the large plate would be larger that the normal lunch plate. We will be going there again this month and get there earlier and order the normal size Sunday roast. Hopefully it will be a better experience.
