La Maya Romanian Restaurant in West Oxfordshire

Good, tasty portions. However, we needed to ask for our meal to be reheated as it was lukewarm when served. After that, it was a delicious, home made like meal. I ordered chicken which was quite grilled outside but pink and red at places inside, so I just took that home and fried it. One of the men in there said nothing when we walked in, the other guy was friendly. One more thing to improve is the ventillation, it gets smokey, as there is an open kitchen.

Great, good value lunch. Lots of choice to suit everyone. We had the stuffed cabbage leaves with polenta and the chicken schnitzel and both were exactly what we wanted (although before we went in we thought we'd probably order pizza and burger). We'll definitely go back for the pizza and burger.

We decided to try this place after seeing pictures of the platter on Facebook. We were a party of four so ordered the platter which was amazing and cooked to perfection. We are glad we didn't order starters as it was huge. We also tried the Romanian wine and beer which was very nice, and for dessert we ordered the Romanian doughnuts which were delicious. The service was great, and the bill was less than expected. Great food, great service - you must try this place.
