The best restaurants in Astley Mosley Common Wigan North West

It is a good restaurant with a very friendly staff and a very good food and atmosphere where we can spend some good and quality time with your partner, family or friends.

I don't normally leave reviews but this is the best sushi I have ever had! All the food was made fresh and on time. Service was positive and friendly. The portion size is well worth the value! Will definitely use as our local spot when we are in Manchester :)

So, I have been to La Casa many, many times. The most recent was Christmas Eve, I love it here. It is my favourite. That isnt to say it is always perfect, but as we go on a regular occurrence, we know some of the staff. Although just recently we haven’t been as often, and a lot of the staff have changed. The ones who are still there, do always have time to say hello and make my children more than welcome (children currently 11 and 10). The menu choice is great. I have tried a lot of the items, but I do have my favourites. The Caprese Salad, and Lamb Cutlets, the Calzone pizza, Love them! I think the reason I go back, is because of the atmosphere. They treat kids so good. I am a big believer of my children ordering their own food, and they allow them the time to do this without rushing them. We have had the kids’ meals, and they are nice size portions, we have, now moved away from the kid’s menu and they order from the full menu now and they don’t always want the vegetables that accompany most of the main meals, so they accommodate for them! Its great, but it’s a friendly high-quality restaurant, where you can go with your family, or friends and have a great time.

We called in with friends for a meal on Friday. What a mistake. We ordered one meal deal which included a starter (or dessert) a main meal and a drink, plus one main. Our friends ordered the same. Firstly we waited well over 30 mins for anything to arrive. Then one starter arrived and one main. Then about 15 min later another main. Then the second starter with what was supposed to be a main. Evidently the order had been taken down wrong (it was spicy meatballs and pasta as the main) all I got was the meatballs which was a starter. Eventually the final main meal arrived. By this time we had been there almost 2 hours. All the food came out at different times. They did offer to do anther pasta dish but by this time didn’t really feel like waiting. A member of our party did speak to someone (not sure if it was the manager or landlord) and we did get one free drink. Only of the two mans were acceptable. Won’t be returning.

Amazing service. Very friendly and efficient staff. The food was lovely, my brother said his curry was the best he had ever had (and he's a fuss pot!!) Can't wait to go back!

Visiting this place after around 5 years and found it a typical traditional public house and very much a male domain.

We took a Cple of friends for a meal last night. Booked around 8 days prior to date. Definitely necessary, especially if it's a Saturday. This is an extremely popular restaurant. Had to wait around 10 mins to be taken to our table. So we Sat in the bar area. Very busy. The restaurant has a welcoming, comfortable vibe. As soon as we were seated we looked at menus. Within 8 mins or so a waiter arrived to take our drinks and food orders. No sooner had he done that, our drinks, poppadoms and chutneys were on the table. Service was excellent, with friendly staff. Considering how busy they were I was amazed at how quickly our courses came out. I must admit I wasn't very adventurous with my choices. Played safe with a generous prawn cocktail followed by Chicken Passandra and coconut rice. My table also ordered garlic chilli king prawns and peri peri chicken wings starters. All very tasty. Other mains were Bombay Lamb (med/hot), Lamb Tikka, Prawn Ajnabi with a creamy garlic and spices sauce. Each dish was excellent. The bill for four people including drinks (2 rounds) came to £118.80. obviously we put a service tip on. Which to be honest was cheaper than expected. The staff helped make this a very enjoyable eve. We would definitely recommend a visit. Also look forward to trying something different as there's lots of tempting choices on the menu. . Viv & Stan.

Couldn't ask for anything better

Ordered a takeaway today it’s was horrible - the dirty chips we’re soggy and had no topping no sauce on it just a few odd jalapeño and big chunks of tomatoes! By the way they don’t do lamb here they only do sheep meat - I asked for lamb curry and paid extra for Lamb but I know most Asian takeaways will only use mutton/ sheep meat as cheaper alternative - I asked in the notes to give me chicken if this was the case which they did - but clearly their advertisement is not accurate cos why charge extra for lamb when you don’t even serve lamb!! The chapati and naan were stale, rubbery and and the flour was shredding it was awful!!! I called to complain the man on the phone listened but his customer service did not go beyond that. Previously they have been really good but defo the quality has gone down hilll won’t be returning

Food was nice but expensive for a Chinese. The restaurant was also pretty cold. Not as warming and inviting as it looks outside. Quite a big area so maybe this is why but wouldn’t return in a hurry wasn’t anything special for the cost

great food and scott was very polite providing a great service, taking the cake home as too full to eat now. come quite frequently always good food
