This little tea rooms is part of the lancashire mining museum. Served at tables by a lovely friendly and attentive waitress. Tea served in old fashioned tea pots, and china cups and saucers, do a good range of home made cakes. Lovely little place, has pictures of the former mines,

Went to laguna for my birthday last night. Food was lovely. Seven of us and we all enjoyed the food. Would definitely recommend and go again. Prices were reasonable as well.

I don't normally leave reviews but this is the best sushi I have ever had! All the food was made fresh and on time. Service was positive and friendly. The portion size is well worth the value! Will definitely use as our local spot when we are in Manchester :)

Visited February 2025 We visited for Sunday lunch on a whim - now, we are very glad that we did. Lovely accommodation with a real restaurant feel that is lacking in so many others these days. Excellent food prepared in the open kitchen and served piping hot. Great flavours at a very competitive price. We will be visiting more often moving forward.

We called in with friends for a meal on Friday. What a mistake. We ordered one meal deal which included a starter (or dessert) a main meal and a drink, plus one main. Our friends ordered the same. Firstly we waited well over 30 mins for anything to arrive. Then one starter arrived and one main. Then about 15 min later another main. Then the second starter with what was supposed to be a main. Evidently the order had been taken down wrong (it was spicy meatballs and pasta as the main) all I got was the meatballs which was a starter. Eventually the final main meal arrived. By this time we had been there almost 2 hours. All the food came out at different times. They did offer to do anther pasta dish but by this time didn’t really feel like waiting. A member of our party did speak to someone (not sure if it was the manager or landlord) and we did get one free drink. Only of the two mans were acceptable. Won’t be returning.

Friendly local club ,welcoming to everyone

Booked to have lunch here as it was pet friendly, and we had our 10-week puppy in a carrier. The staff were so friendly and brilliant, and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend it. Will definitely go back on our next visit to Manchester.

Visiting this place after around 5 years and found it a typical traditional public house and very much a male domain.

Didn't manage to try the food .we booked a table for 2 for 830 on a sat evening we arrived and gotaa drink at bar as table wasn't ready .we were told the customers are just paying bill then we wil be seated ...now 8 50 stil no sign of us being seating so we left and took are custom somewhere else ..surly you would ask the customers to sit at the bar area when they finished there food and explain the table is booked for next customers. Hence why you use a booking system

Couldn't ask for anything better

Ordered a takeaway today it’s was horrible - the dirty chips we’re soggy and had no topping no sauce on it just a few odd jalapeño and big chunks of tomatoes! By the way they don’t do lamb here they only do sheep meat - I asked for lamb curry and paid extra for Lamb but I know most Asian takeaways will only use mutton/ sheep meat as cheaper alternative - I asked in the notes to give me chicken if this was the case which they did - but clearly their advertisement is not accurate cos why charge extra for lamb when you don’t even serve lamb!! The chapati and naan were stale, rubbery and and the flour was shredding it was awful!!! I called to complain the man on the phone listened but his customer service did not go beyond that. Previously they have been really good but defo the quality has gone down hilll won’t be returning

Food was nice but expensive for a Chinese. The restaurant was also pretty cold. Not as warming and inviting as it looks outside. Quite a big area so maybe this is why but wouldn’t return in a hurry wasn’t anything special for the cost

Staff were all lovely, and the carvery was deeelish. The place was clean. Went on a Sunday and the place was packed, but we were still served quickly, and didn't have to wait for the carvery.
